I came here for an early dinner to celebrate a friend's birthday and the Porch definitely has room for improvements. My friend made a reservation for our big group well in advance and we had 4 tables for the group, but there was only one waitress. Not surprisingly, the service was extremely slow the entire time. I got the Southwest steak salad and it was just so-so. Another friend got a bowl with chicken and the chicken wasn't even fully cooked. The restaurant itself is fun with the swing chairs, giant connect four game, and photo booth inside. I wouldn't come back here though given the service and food.

(2.5) I hate giving low reviews, but food safety is a non-negotiable criteria, and unfortunately there was a serious issue with it here on this visit. I'd made a reservation for 20 people on a Saturday around 430, a week and a half in advance and the people who helped me with that were great, and I even received text updates regarding the reservation which was very helpful and reassuring. Parking is available in the nearby garage or lot, as well as street parking. We were seated outside on the front patio which was really cool with porch games, swing set seats, TVs and just an awesome vibe. I really appreciated the ample space they provided for my party. Lots of room to walk around and socialize. The Porch also had some games inside and a cool Photo Booth. A really big bar area in the middle and lots of seating inside. Our server was great, I think her name was Milan? Although it seemed busy and I wondered if she could have used a second person to help since our group was pretty large. But I told her we were on a time limit and she was very understanding. The Porch offers A LOT of fun drinks and food on their menu, including this super cute Asian inspired cocktail called Big Trouble in Little Shanghai. I decided to order it and did enjoy how balanced and flavorful it was. I also ordered the poke bowl and really liked that too. I would say the rest of my friends there were split 50/50 about whether they liked the food, but the hot shot burger was popular as well as the different bowl options. The biggest problem I had was with one of my friend's dishes she'd ordered. She had really great things to say about this restaurant, as her and her partner frequently visit the Tempe location. She decided to order the border bowl with chicken. We did have a large party, but the food came out within 20-30 minutes of ordering which was great. Except for my friend who ordered the chicken border bowl. She was the last to be served and probably waited 40 minutes. She took one bite of the food with a piece of the chicken and thought it tasted a bit rubbery. She then noticed a few pink ish/ not fully cooked pieces in her bowl. This was unfortunate and annoying since we were in a time crunch and she was the last one to be served. So not enough time to re make it. I was told by someone that the food would be taken off the receipt. But when we saw the receipt, they had only removed the cost of chicken, not the entire bowl itself... I'm not sure what was going on in the kitchen with that bowl, but hopefully it was just an accident? Maybe they were short staffed on this busy Saturday evening? Other than the chicken issue, the experience was good. But undercooked food is a big one for me. Despite that, I would probably visit a different location. Not sure if I'd visit this one again though...

Nice bar, plenty of seating both indoor and outdoor. The bar has about 20 seats which is nice. Some swing chairs on the patio. Large tvs indoor,plenty of food and drinks options. Staff is friendly and welcoming. I only stopped in for a drink and an appetizer. I ordered the mozzarella sticks and donut balls with a margarita. Food came out fast and hot. Drink made well.

I didn't know The Porch was more than just a late night party bar, but they're a fantastic restaurant as well! I got the margarita and it was good, but the cougar magnet drink wasn't my favorite. Mostly alcohol forward, not much flavor to it in my opinion. I was a little disappointed that the jalapeno poppers (ordered before our dinner items) didn't come out until our food was served, but it gets busy so no biggie. They were absolutely fantastic and my favorite food of the night. Very soicy, but with jalapenos, it just depends on the batch you get, but I liked that. The Hotshot burger was a fun experience with the syringe of hot honey, not super unique in flavor, but still very tasty. Same goes for the Porch pasta. It's pretty much a Mac and cheese style dish, wish there was a bit more Cajun zing to it but I'd be lying if I didn't say I was still licking up the bowl regardless lol. The garlic bread needed more to t though as it mostly just felt like a toasted bun. Although I sound critical, for bar food they're killing it. I would definitely eat here again and look forward to trying some more of their menu!

Great atmosphere and ambiance -- a place you want to like. The drink and food options are solid, and it's a nice spot to sit and have a drink. Unfortunately, the service and food execution held the experience back. Service timing was very inconsistent. After some back and forth, we waited close to 30 minutes just to get our check and eventually had to ask another server, who also couldn't find ours but kindly brought the bill. The food seemed like it could be good, but everything came out cold, making it hard to fully judge. We could visibly see multiple entrees sitting on the kitchen shelf for an extended time, which explained the temperature issue. We ordered the crab rangoon dip without sweet chili oil/sauce, only to be told after it arrived that the chili is mixed in and can't be removed. I can't eat chilis, so the dish was taken off our check, which we appreciated. However, there is no chili indicator on the paper menu -- if an item can't be modified, that should be clearly marked and communicated. We also ordered a burger and mac & cheese, but didn't finish either due to how cold they were. At that point, we didn't want to wait longer for replacements or risk more food waste. And honestly -- cold mac & cheese with no cheese pull is a bummer.

The Porch is definitely worth a stop if you're in the downtown Gilbert area. During the day it has a laid-back vibe, but the real fun starts at night when it transforms into more of a club atmosphere. I've tried the food before it's good, though not amazing--and the drinks are more your standard club-style mixes, so don't expect a craft cocktail experience. What really makes this spot stand out is the energy: the DJ always keeps the music going, and the crowd is a fun mix of people from all walks of life. The variety and vibe make it a great place to hang out with friends and enjoy a night out.

We came here on vacation looking for a fun place to watch football & eat some food. We were overall impressed with the aesthetic. There was plenty of open seating, along with connect four, Jenga, as well as some fun seating with swings and such. I rarely ever rate a restaurant under 3 stars even because of slow service, but after waiting over 3 hours for food - and ending up leaving due to having a kid with us I am extremely disappointed. We ended up leaving and just paying for the drinks without the food. The waitstaff nor manager even offered apologies or to comp the drinks that were on the meal. We asked the manager to update us on the food and the server came and dropped the bill on the table without saying anything. I have never had a restaurant bring a bill out before even getting our food. I have worked in the food industry for most of my life & wow, the customer service was truly so poor. I would not recommend / come back due to the service alone which is very unfortunate. This restaurant has so much potential to be such a fun spot to eat / watch games / hangout but missed the mark.

This is one of the rare times where I actually regretted eating the meal at a restaurant. It wasn't just OK, it was absolutely disgusting. The burger was supposed to be a Thick Cut burger. It was 0.25 inches thin. The bread was completely soggy by the time I was halfway through the meal. The beef has exactly Zero taste. I couldn't taste anything. I asked for medium well and it came out pink inside. I just don't understand how they screwed up a burger at an American restaurant. This should be their signature item. Truffle fries had no truffle, obviously, and not even the slightest truffle flavor. Way too salty, and greasy. For $15, I could just go to Inn N Out and get 3 Doubles burgers, or 2 double burgers from Culver's, both of which are MUCH better and at a fraction of the price. It's sad that I'm comparing a unique restaurant with fast food joints, and that the fast food is higher quality. Worse of all, it took 45 minutes to get the food. I'm starting to wonder if they deliberately make the food delayed so that we are too hungry to bother sending it back for a replacement. You'll notice most of the reviews are about the drinks, appetizers, and watching games on TV. This is just a venue for serving junk food while trying to keep you entertained and rake in a profit. Also notice how the manager responds to negative reviews with an "oh well, too bad, stuff happens" kind of attitude. Final note: It wasn't just me. Out of our group of 5 people, 3 people (including myself) thought the food was awful. One person had a chicken sandwich, the other had a rice and avocado bowl. They both said the food was terrible and would never come back. This is coming from 3 "foodies" who know and appreciate high quality, delicious food. Avoid at all costs!

Stopped by here to continue my bar hopping experience, and wished I was able to stay a little longer. Ambiance/Atmosphere - 5/5 - With the weather being the way it has been, this place was so nice to be outside and enjoy the weather. Has swing sets and a great bar set up inside. Staff - 5/5 - Funny, friendly and helpful. Really enjoyed the small talk. Food/Drink - I wasn't able to order too much, but ordered the following: Jumbo Pretzel - 4/5 - $10 - Huge pretzel with mustard and Modelo beer cheese. Lemon Caesar - 5/5 - $12 - I wanted to try something "light", so went with this salad. I am glad that I did, because the lemon caesar dressing on it is really really good. Because I was moving around, I just grabbed a couple of beers, but the prices were great due to happy hour. Overall, this was a great location here in Gilbert, and recommend others to check it out if they never have.

Trivia night on Wednesday 7-8:30 p.m. met up with my fellow Yelper Ashley T. She is a regular for trivia & was showing my friend & I the ropes. Before the trivia started we picked a group name. Then they go over the rules: no cheating using only one phone or you could be disqualified. There was someone walking around monitoring everyone. Our server was Sally. She took our drink orders which was waters & Dr. Peppers. I ordered a Root Beer but it tasted watered down so I got a Dr. Pepper. I ordered the original bone in wings. They were perfect with lots of sauce, carrots, and Celery. Also came with a side of ranch. My friend Kaisy got the chips, salsa, & guac. which was sharing size. Ashley got a salmon Salad that looked delicious & she said, "it was great!" We didn't do so well at Trivia but had a fun! I'll definitely be back to try it out again! Wings: $16 + Soda: $5./unlimited refills=$22.64 Bathrooms are behind the building. Always go with a friend as it's by the back parking lot and can look scary at night. The gate isn't locked so anyone can walk in from the street.

Decent food but poor service. We sat at the bar and it took a few minutes before someone acknowledged us and took our order for drinks and an appetizer. All was going well until i finished my drink. It took more than 10 minutes after finishing my drink before one of three employees working the bar decided to come see if i wanted another drink. I wish I could give this place a zero star. The first encounter I received attitude for asking for my tequila shots to be chilled... didn't know people took warm tequila shots in 2021. Then I proceeded to not get served the rest of the night and the two women bartenders who lack a lot of business acumen and respect because they did not put their customers first. I got kicked out and I ask the people escorting me out why I got kicked out. They said "we don't know but you need to leave." Workers were very disrespectful to me and my friends. Don't want to go here but I don't think this place does not welcomes minorities. I'm visiting for the weekend from LA and I'll take my money elsewhere to a place where their bartenders know how to do there job. 0/10 wouldn't recommend. I tried this place last Friday night and should have known from the zero wait that I should have gone elsewhere. The buffalo cauliflower came out cold and gray looking. They were replaced with warm soggy ones. The salad was mostly chopped iceberg lettuce with minimal toppings and the tacos were so so. We had a party of six on a busy and beautiful Saturday night. So yes, the wait was a little longer than originally estimated, but still shorter than some of the other nearby venues. We ended up sitting in a much-too-small booth, but another appropriate-sized booth opened up and we were much more comfortable. The menu is not huge but does have a number of choices. One person got a burger, my sisters split the crispy chicken sandwich, my great nephew got the chicken fingers and another person had the green chili mac n cheese. I opted for something lighter - the Caesar salad and the chicken potsticker appetizers. Most everything was great and all but two of us cleaned our plates. The green chili mac n cheese was just okay - we were all expecting something exciting. I liked the chicken pot-stickers - they were somewhat petite, but appropriate for an appetizer to share. I struggled with the salad - how do you mess up a salad? Well, by literally drowning in with the grated Parmesan. I don't know if this is a normal serving or if the prep chef dropped the container. If we weren't in a hurry to get to a show, I would have sent it back (and I don't send food back!). And those who know me know I love parmesan. But I'm taking a break from it for a while, because it's been almost a week and I swear I can still taste it - and not in a good way. For the price ($12 with no meat), I would have expected shaved parmesan. Service (when we got it) was great! But due to the crowd, sometimes it was really hard getting people's attention. Will we be back? Possibly, but there are plenty of other venues in the area to try... read more

I'll start by saying I love the food and the vibe in this place... most of the time. At times it's so loud one cannot hold a conversation as the evening DJ starts up and blasts out the patrons over 35. I give this place two stars overall though due to the Dj blasting you out, and more so for the fact their service sucks terribly bad!! Been here several times for the food and every time we find ourselves waiting a good 15 minutes or more to order a drink or water, even at the bar. Be ready to flag down a server if you want to order food as most of the kids behind the bar counter and servers are too busy talking and laughing with their coworkers and friends sitting at the bar. Great place for drinks. The fig mules, and cocktails are great. The pretzels are fantastic. The food is kind of hit or miss depending on who's cooking. Sometimes the food is fantastic and other times it's meh..Not consistent but I do like to stop in. We would probably come more often during lunch, brunch, but the music is way too loud for daytime. You can't have quick bite to eat, or happy hour without having to yell across the table. My friends and family like it here but it's just too loud. I can understand a different atmosphere at night but during the day it doesn't need to be so loud. read more

I went to this place today, my first time here, we had to wait 15 to 20 minutes and the food, the vibe was great.. however we got our food, but did not get utensils or napkins, we had to wait for a bit as our food was getting cold, eventually we saw another waitress and ask for it.. didn't see the waitress again until we were done eating, so we just decided to leave and not ask for anything else since we had to wait so long. read more

I was told by two friends that costumer service was not good here. I like to make my own opinions though, went on Friday night and had the most rude bar tender serve us. 5 of us ordering drinks but one of my friends wanted a water, the moment the bartender heard one ask for a water she wouldn't help the others. I would have spent more time and money at this location but as a business owner customer service is EVERYTHING. I wasn't impressed. Bat tender was Sierra (long blonde hair). We went to The Porch on Gilbert Road the other day, and I actually uploaded yelp just for this review. They have a server whose name I think is Milan and she was fantastic. We have two small children who don't do well in restaurants but Milan treated them like gold. She was able to keep them busy so their dad and I could enjoy some pretty good food. It's reasonably priced, has a fun atmosphere, and though they were busy, we did not feel rushed. We will be back and will definitely ask for their server Milan in the future. read more

This was one of a couple options I could find. We attempted to dine here for dinner on a previous occasion but it was a long wait at that time so we went elsewhere. This time we showed up around 10:15am on a Saturday in June, and we were quoted 90 minutes for two people. Fortunately there was room at the bar, so we were seated immediately. The decor is very clean and subtlety higher end. It is an open floor plan with the bar towards the front door, which is also accessible from the large patio (in cooler weather times) that has mister fans and a lot of shade. They have one of the nicest and cleanest restrooms in the valley, with complementary sea salt scrub and high end paper napkins. They also have a couple luxurious event spaces, one of which was hosting an engagement party. My mom tried a non alcoholic drink special with decaffeinated tea and fresh juices, with a little flower on top. She also tried the avocado toast. She enjoyed both but she said the avocado toast was a little spicy, albeit she has an extremely low tolerance for spice. I opted for the breakfast sandwich and black coffee. The coffee came in a neat mug with an oversized handle that was very ergonomic. It was good, but slightly watery. Was at least comforting to know it wasn't laced with tons of pesticides like most restaurants' coffee. The egg, bacon and avocado sandwich was delicious. The egg and bacon were cooked perfectly, and the bread was nice and soft but not too dry. The greens on the side were fresh with a nice vinaigrette. The service was excellent, all of the staff were friendly and seemed to be happy to be there. All in all I was impressed with this place. The only thing I wish they had on their brunch menu was an omelette, because this is first place I have been in a very long time that isn't a fine dining establishment, where they actually know how to cook eggs properly. They were fluffy, moist, and light. I don't bring this up as a brag, but I attended culinary school and learned proper scrambled egg (French style) technique years ago. This is the first place I've been in a long time that gives my eggs a run for their money.

The meat was kind of tough and dry (which is odd for a French Dip, and everything just lacked flavor. Even the au jus really had no kind of salt or much flavor to it. Whitley was amazing !!!! She was great very sweet and knowledge about the food and drinks even though she was sooo busy she was smiling and happy never made us wait or feel like she was rushed. We will be coming back for the great food drinks and service. Although everything was wonderful we were there at shift change and Whitley never even mentioned she was getting ready to leave she let us finish up and be on our merry way. While watching shift change we saw drinks in the well three girl were just texting and chatting one girl even walked over to the well and walked away not running any drinks mine being one of the she then went back to texting leaving drinks to die at the well. I hope u will speak to this person and let her no everyone is watching her text, flip her hair, and neglect her duties. Whitley was amazing and we truly enjoyed our time here . My boyfriend and I stopped in for a quick dinner and to check the place out and we had the pleasure of having Brandon as our server and it was one of the most fun, interactive, magical dinner experiences we've ever had. He was so knowledgeable of the menu and helped us pick the perfect items, and kept us laughing the entire time. The wait was a little discouraging but he made up for that with the dining experience he created! We will definitely be back, and we will definitely be requesting to be in his section, and if you want to have the time of your life and the best service I highly recommend asking the host to seat you in Brandon's section! read more

Security is a joke and will do whatever they can to avoid situations that would cause them to actually do something other than socialize. I had a drunk woman trying to fight me and when I told security they told me "there's only 30 minutes left of my shift, so I don't really care" resulted with the woman getting violent right infront of security. I stopped by The Porch for a quick bite and was looking forward to my panini, but turns out they forgot to put it in. The staff was honest and upfront about it and even gave it to me on the house as an apology, which was a nice gesture. The fries were on point as always and made up for the little slip-up. The atmosphere is cozy and perfect for a quick meal, but don't forget to double-check your order. All in all, a solid spot that's worth a visit for some good food and honest service. read more

Definitely recommend checking this place out. First thing I always look for is if the place is clean. Passed that test. Next for me is service. They were all over it. Then of course the food. Couldn't have been better. Maybe it was just because we were having a great time and the place just enhanced the night but it definitely won me over. Clean. Great Staff. Great food. Had a great time. My family and I came here for brunch this AM and it was quite busy! Luckily got sat fairly quick. Our server Holly was SO sweet and attentive given how busy we could see she was. She was so nice to our kiddos too. Some of the best service we have had! We got what she suggested and it was great!! And the $15 bottles of champagne was just the cherry on top. The ambiance is good but food was so disappointing! I ordered Mediterranean bowl, it was literally lettuce and cucumber on side with hummus, it was so bland. We were a group of 7 except for one person, nobody liked their food. I would not go there again:( Please don't order the avocado toast, it was like a canned spread on four half slices of bread, it was not at all from fresh avocados and no toppings! read more

Visited "The Porch" for the first time and I was thoroughly impressed! The manager, Cole, and bartenders Destin, Hannah, and MG went above and beyond to ensure my experience was top-notch. Their warmth and friendliness added to the wonderful atmosphere. The food was delectable and complemented perfectly by the ice-cold beers. I've found my new favorite spot. This was my first time coming to the Porch and I've never done a review before but I had to say something. My experience here was absolutely heavenly and such a good time with me and my friends. This establishment's security man handles females who aren't intoxicated and then threatens to call the cops on them when asking questions. Might as well go to whisky row, at least they know how to respect women. But hey if the women you know like the be grabbed by balding security guards this is the place to go. read more

Soooo much fun!! My wife and I came in on the weekend and had a blast. Fun drinks & great food. Ask for Ty at the bar. The guy with the muscles, you can't miss him. He recommended a fun shareable called the Double Feature. super tasty and comes in a popcorn container. Will be back for sure read more
