We were a party of 6 and they made us sit outside on a 105 degree day because the bar was supposedly reserved for a private event. We watched and few of the tables in the bar area filled. We waited 20 mins for anyone to come to our table. They brought waters initially and waited another 15 mins for 4 waters and 2 iced teas. When they finally took our order, we had been there an hour. Another 30 mins later, two of six dishes came out. Over the next 30 mins, they brought one dish at a time. We walked in at 1pm and finally got the last order of food at 2:30p. This is my second time coming to The Porch, and it was even better this time than the first. My server, Grace, greeted us in a very friendly manner that carried on throughout our time here. She provided excellent service and couldn't have been any more courteous and helpful. I ordered the pickleback burger and it was excellent. It was cooked just right and arrived at the table hot and delicious. The restaurant is split into half patio seating, half indoor seating and the atmosphere and open air feel is extremely comfortable. They play low music that is not intrusive at all and adds greatly to the environment. Awful place for a large party! Server forgot drink orders and we were served incorrect food orders including my own burgers which were burnt. Also made a reservation weeks in advance for this big group and was told that we could have 3 bills split up and paid for within the group but then the day came and was told something completely different that it could only be all items on 1 bill. Spoke with a disingenuous server who made no effort to separate the bill. Finally manager offered some pitiful $5 off coupon for our next visit. Very disappointing experience. read more

Overall the food was very good, but they got half the orders wrong in some way. The service was poor. Our group of 10 was sat partially in the sun and we had to drag two heavy umbrellas over ourself. From Chicago, first time at the Porch on a Sunday after church. The place was poppin'! Whatever you do, I highly recommend sitting outside. We were by the mist machine and it kept us cool. I ordered the pork stew (5/5) and it was really good! I've never had anything quite like it before. It was like a pork taco, without the shell, and a little more soupy. Very original and good. I love coming here to hang out watch games and have a casual meet up place. The food last time did not hit the spot (nachos) but they have other items that I love. I arrived there and their sign says seat yourself and I did near the bar. 13 minutes of sitting there with no server acknowledging me, even after noticing me there. I decided to leave. The bartender and server were chatting and laughing while standing about 15 feet away from me. another server was back and forth with his customers. Guess the shift manager was on break or in back doing administrative stuff and didn't notice a customer not being served and his/her employees too busy chatting. This was on March 5th at noon. My family and I enjoyed dinner here while watching Monday night football. Though I always envisioned us at their Tempe location, this location ended up being closer to our Airbnb. It definitely looks like a bar when you walk in but it's a restaurant and kids are allowed. We sat in a nice booth with great lighting and a large TV. Came here for lunch when a nearby restaurant had an unspecified wait, and we were seated immediately. Food is basic pub food, high quality, and there are a LOT of choices on the menu. The sliders were delightful and the fries perfectly thin and crispy. Portions were large and there was enough to take home. My friend's shrimp salad looked AMAZING. I'm not a salad person but I'm definitely ordering it next time - plenty of shrimp, good dressing, and just really nicely presented (fancy!). Almost like we were in a dead zone and no-one thought we were their table. The shrimp salad turned into a wrap with fries was good but soggy. I wish I could tell you about the food but we didn't get any. We were sat outside and waited more than 25 minutes and never had a server come up to our table. We counted four servers walk past us and not one greeted or offered to get us at least water. We we got up to leave, I spoke to the hostess and let her know our table was open. Not once did she ask us why we were leaving. Only asked where our table was at. I really had high hopes but just a huge disappointment. Online is stated dog friendly and I have personally witnessed 4 dogs be allowed in last night and was told the same from an employee at this location as I was leaving. We went for trivia night. It was just a recording on the tvs (with ads lol) and you have to download an app to reply. Not interactive at all with other people in the restaurant. Then the app crashed multiple times until we finally just gave up. I've been to The Porch a handful of times, and I never want to write a negative review. But after today's experience, I feel obligated. When we came in, there was no host at the host stand. We did wait for about 5 minutes but no one came, so we ended up seating ourselves on the patio. We informed a nearby server that we were out there & ready to put drinks in whenever it was possible. We sat for about 20-25 minutes before our server greeted us and we placed our drink order. It was another 20 minutes to receive our drinks. She did not come back to check on us until we were done with our drinks & ready to check out. We did want to order food, but we didn't because we knew it would most likely take a very long time. They seemed short staffed so I would never blame our server, only the management. Every table around us had not been bussed and was filled with dirty dishes the whole time we were there. My friend's wine was warm when delivered, and my $15 cocktail was way too sweet and tasted like a mocktail. Every time I've been here I've been disappointed, but this by far the worst time & solidified that I will not be coming back. As someone also in the industry, I truly feel bad for the servers and bartenders here, and I hope that management is actively hiring because you can tell their staff is struggling. read more

I've lived just a few blocks from this restaurant for the past four years, but have never tried it. Super cute from the outside, but reviews always seemed a little mixed. In any event, we finally gave it a try this weekend and I must say had a pretty good experience. Service was friendly and solicitous, definitely focused on the upsell, so took some of the staff recommendations with a grain of salt. In addition, almost every item on the menu has options for adding more items and obviously more cost. But, admirable I guess on their part, it is a business after all and this seems to be the norm these days. We ordered the following: Shrimp Quesadillas (4/5) - good quality, quantity and fillings. Shrimp decent size and cooked perfectly with/generous portion of cheesiness. Salsa had nice smoky undertones and tasted very fresh. Good compliment to the quesadillas. Beer Battered Onion Rings (4.5/5) - home run. Took .5 points of because it wasn't that generous of a portion. But these were great. Crisp with a good crunch. Onions tender and cooked perfectly inside. Served with ranch and tomato ketchup. Excellent with both. Cheeseburger with salt/pepper fries (4/5). Thought this was a great burger, chose to go with the two smashed patties. I favor these especially when they have a nice crunch around the edges and this one did. Fries were also pretty good. Wasn't a huge fan of their house sauce which fortunately I got to the side, so I added a little ketchup and mustard and it was perfect for me. All in all a good visit, loved that several TV's were visible from almost every seat and each featured different sporting events. Looks like they have a pretty good happy hour and they have a late night menu of items that is pretty extensive compared to some other bars in the area. I was so excited to go to trivia at the Porch last night. When I walked in, there was no one at the host stand, but there was a sign indicating to wait to be seated. So I waited, and waited, and waited. I stood there for over 10 minutes while the restaurant was half full. So many servers walked by me but just ignored me. The bartender made eye contact 3 times and then just resumed texting. It was so bizarre I literally took a pic of him texting. Finally, with a huge line behind me, the host showed up to seat me. She took me outside and I asked if we could do trivia there. She replied, "I honestly don't even know." Finally got a table inside only for it to take another 10 minutes for waters. My friends arrived right at 7 and couldn't get a drink order in until 7:38. I am a server also, but very confused and disappointed by the service. I don't know if there was some extenuating circumstances, but I counted at least 4 servers and the restaurant wasn't near being full. I hope this is a one-off night because I enjoyed the food and our server was kind, just the timing of everything left a bad taste in my mouth. read more
