To start with, my friend and I shared jalapeño cheese curds as an appetizer. For a $7 appetizer at a casual sports bar, the portion was incredibly small. It was more like a $3 value. I ordered a medium rare voodoo burger as my entrée. The voodoo sauce was overpoweringly sour and basically tasted like a super mild Tabasco sauce. The burger came back with only the tiniest hint of pink. It was dry and overcooked - much closer to well-done than anything else. The jalapeño cheddar brioche roll it came on was solid, but it wasn't enough to save the burger. For a restaurant that mainly does burgers, this is pretty shameful and a total waste of meat. read more

The Pour House has become a standing favorite amongst my group of friends. The beer selection is solid, with great variety and styles to choose from and they're pretty generous with the samples if you're having a hard time deciding between brews. The homemade chips & onion dip is one of the best upgrades to my secret guilty obsession of Herr's chips & jarred onion dip that I've tried and the burgers. My goodness, THE BURGERS. I have yet to try one that was not amazingly delicious. They alone are worth the wait for a table. read more

We love the Pour House! I come here often with family and friends. Service is great whether you are sitting at the bar or at a table. Bar area can get crowded at typical busy times. Still easy to get a drink though. Burgers are juicy and delicious. Hangover burger (with egg on it) is AMAZING! Appetizers are large portions and haven't had one that I did not like. I was skeptical about taking my mom and boyfriend here after reading some of the 3-Star reviews, however we decided to take a chance after driving up to it and seeing how cool it looked from outside (and how many cars were out front, busy = better). We got the she crab soup as an appetizer. This soup is apparently a local favorite, and being from Maryland, I have to say.. it was pretty good! Only thing is, it's more like dip than soup.. it's loaded with crab.. more than most dips honestly. But still really really good. We also got deviled eggs (my boyfriend is like a deviled egg connoisseur lol). They passed! And we also got the pierogies which were good too! I got the hangover burger replaced with a bean burger and the old bay fries. He got the California burger with old bay fries. And my mom got the last burger on the menu? This place was okay, but not somewhere I would go back again. For dinner here, I had a Grilled Shrimp Flatbread, not thinking it would be very spicy. Well, I was wrong. It was flaming hot! So I had fries for most of my dinner until we called the waitress back to order their Grilled Three Cheese sandwich, minus the onions. That did turn out better. The Pour House is a great place to come for happy hour, but the food can be meh. Their fries are good and I adore the goat cheese fritters, but both of the entrees I've tried (grilled cheese + shrimp tacos) were average at best. The beer selection is phenomenal. Bottom line: good beer list and below average food. I was super excited when the Pourhouse opened up so close to home, but have had enough bad meals to make me avoid it. When the place originally opened up, the food was pretty good. Not a 10 but a solid 8 (sometimes an 8.5) and a great option for those of us looking for a new spot. The beer selection is great, but that's the whole point. No extra credit there. These days I would say that the food is about a 6 or even less. Nothing really terrible but nothing really good. The staff has always been friendly and fun, but that doesn't make the food any better. I'll be taking my money to Station Tap or Iron Hill. read more

Unfortunately, a bad experience at a brand new place! A friend and I had planned to meet for a drink & appetizer & decided to try The Pour House since it was new & we had never been there. Sadly, our experience was anything but good. We sat at the bar & although it was not busy and the bartender (Meghan) did see us, she seemed not to want to acknowledge our presence. Finally, she came over & we ordered 2 glasses of wine. We tried to joke with her that we were probably the only 2 people drinking wine with all the beer selections offered, but she was cold & unresponsive. She had that same demeanor throughout our whole time there and made us feel as if we were imposing on her. The food menu was very limited; many types of oysters, many burger selections, 4 salads, 4 flatbreads (1 being shrimp, the other pesto which not everyone likes) and several sandwiches. We felt the menu was very limited for the general population's tastes. We decided to order a flatbread and after quite some time, the bartender came to take our order. After a reasonable wait, our food came out, but was almost delivered to the wrong people. I realize that flatbread is exactly what it says, "flat" "bread", however this was so thin we could hardly pick it up to get it to our plates, much less get it from our plates to our mouths without it breaking and the topping going everywhere. The flatbread was OK, nothing stood out about it taste wise. As a result of our bad experience, we left a minimal tip. I am an ex-waitress & normally tip very well, however the service the bartender provided did not warrant a good tip. The whole experience was not good & my friend & I both decided we will never go back and certainly would NOT recommend The Pour House to anyone. read more

Burgers over cooked, ordered Medium Rare and came out cooked all the way through. Bacon marmalade was like a smear soaked int the bun...couldn't taste it at all. For $14.00, go to a better burger place that puts toppings on the burger and cooks them to order....ours seemed like they we're pre cooked and then steamed to heat them up when ordered. Truffle Fries= bland, McDonalds are better. Service couldn't be bothered, basically she was a robot who wanted to turn her table wishing we left as soon as she made her obligatory service comments. The Pour house is a top notch place to take the family on a thursday afternoon for lunch or to take the bros on a friday night chilling by the bar. We had Bill as our waiter. He was the funniest, most courteous waiter i've ever experienced. He's even great with kids! He also impressed us with his waiter skills. Walking out of the kitchen, he was carrying 5 plates and still managed to sing happy birthday to the table next to us. I definitely recommend Bill as a waiter and server ;) read more

Went last night with my bf and a few other friends. The service was good however I would not reccomend getting the ahi tacos. Mine were the soft tacos and ok, but my bf ordered the hard tacos, which literally consisted of barely another other than the shells. I should have thought to take a picture of them. The place is upbeat with great layout and decor. Huge beer menu. The food, however, is generic and in my second visit, pretty dismal. The perky waitress could not save the food--a messy yucky mushroom Philly chicken sandwich with unrecognizable cheesy goo and overbearing BBQ sauce of some sort. I think there were 2 mushrooms mixed with overcooked onions. The brownie dessert was okay, but I think even Denny's does a better job. : D. Overall, mediocre, but worth another try. There might be better items on the menu but I suspect this is a better bar than a restaurant. read more

I am not a drinker so I can't speak to the beers. However, I love oysters! They have a Buck A Shuck on Wednesdays! They have a great selection of oysters for you to choose from and a great dark sauce they serve with them. I prefer them as is. The fries are excellent too. Some places give you fries that taste like they were sitting but these are fresh, crispy and you get a heaping portion. My husband loves their burgers. Definitely will return. read more

I used to frequent this establishment. The food and service was good and they have a great beer list. Due to life changes I have not visited for a while until tonight which was a big night for the local football team. Surprisingly the restaurant was not crowded. Which made it very surprising that after 25 minutes no staff had stopped by our table or taken our order. I tried several times to attract the attention of passing wait staff, but I was unsuccessful. I enjoyed my visit to The Pour House very much. It was crowded on a Saturday night so we had to wait about a half hour. I ordered the Buffalo Chicken Flatbread, which I enjoyed a lot, although I will say it was small and very thin, like a tortilla, so not terribly filling. Their shoestring fries were great - very crispy. I also ordered the warm cookie skillet for dessert which was nothing short of amazing. They bake them fresh when you order so it takes about 15 minutes for them to come out but the wait was well worth it! I would definitely return to The Pour House in the future. read more

I travel to PA at least once a year, I usually eat here at least once during my visits to Exton. The Pour House sports typical pub-grub with a few unique choices on the menu, like the prime rib sandwich. This joint does an amazing business, It was slammed late Wednesday night upon my arrival. My biggest complaint is I find the menu a wee bit overpriced for what you're getting, it is pub grub after all. On the other hand, the beer selection is top notch, all local micro-brews. I was even able to score a bottle of Laugantius Pale Ale from Northern California all the way here in Pennsylvania. If I came here to party, I'm sure my review would go up a star. Overall, if you're hungry, you might do better elsewhere, if you came to party, this is the place! read more
