Today it is -20 degrees before windchill. I went to take my dog outside and the moment I heard the door latch behind me I realized my keys were just inside the door sitting on the entertainment center. I can not tell you how quick and easy and friendly this whole process was. Well, not the being locked out of the apartment part, but everything after calling The Professional Locksmith. We were locked out of the apartment on a Saturday night and called a cheap locksmith. He took about 2 hours to reach (after promising to reach in 20 minutes) and then tried to get us in for about 40 minutes with no luck (how shocking, should have guessed this from the low pricing, no guarantee policy, and his lack of any professional attire, unless you call saggy jeans and exposed boxers professional attire). Anyways, on Sunday morning, still locked out of the apartment, we called The Professional Locksmith and they sent us someone (his name is David) in about 6 minutes. Customer service reps followed-up a few days after we got our estimate and they offered to match any lower quotes we received (which we did and they matched it. They were also offering and able to do the additional welding work that the other company wasn't able to do). I originally contacted The Professional Locksmith because I had just booked moving services with their related business, The Professionals Movers. I had a fantastic experience with the movers and I was not at all disappointed by the locksmith. I requested a quote with the email contact form on their website (not through Yelp) for rekeying 4 locks on a condo I was in the process of purchasing. I asked for prices and whether they had appointments available two weeks later for the day after I moved in. I had a couple of minor communication delays with the email back-and-forth to make the appointment (I think one of my emails got missed, but they responded very promptly to my follow-up email two days later). But overall, it was a good experience setting up the appointment. The day of, I was definitely impressed. The office called to confirm my 1-3pm arrival window on the morning of, then the locksmith called for access to my building shortly after 1pm. He was polite and professional, wearing a mask (for COVID), and quick to complete the work. I hadn't realized until after he was done with the rekey and had me test the locks that the originals had been misaligned just enough to be stiff. They're smooth as butter now and feel like brand new locks. The invoice entirely matched the price quote (he gave me a $10 discount because I mentioned I used the movers, though, so mention that when booking if you're moving and changing locks like I did) and I was emailed a copy almost as soon as he finished processing my payment. There are probably cheaper locksmiths out there, but I have absolutely no complaints. The place I just moved into had some good-quality locks (not Kwikset), so at $35/lock it was cheaper to get them rekeyed than to replace them. read more

Our three flat condo building had several door and intercom issues that needed fixing. I called on a Friday afternoon and was easily able to schedule someone to come out the next day. Mario came on Saturday night and after walking him through the problems he quickly got to work. He fixed our buzzer system which had been unable to open our front door for months, moved the latching mechanism on our door so we no longer had to jam the handle to actually get the door to shut and fixed our storage room door that couldn't be locked without propping up the door first.
