Let me start off with the ambiance. The place is so beautiful and unique. Decor is stunning and you can tell someone paid close attention to detail when choosing interior design. Overall, stunning and you can't find anything like this out here in the suburbs. Service was great. We had the pleasure of sitting in front of the chefs and watching them cook, unique experience. Our server, Serafin, was amazing and suggested plenty of items off the menu, he did not steer us wrong! Food was very delicious and we left full and excited to come back and try more. My favorite was the grilled octopus- to die for. Drinks were perfect as well. Overall, super cute and yummy place that Mount Prospect needed! Excited to come again and try out more. read more

First time dining; food and service were spectacular. Dining at the Chef's counter allowed interaction with the chef while enjoying our delicious chicken and pasta dishes. Well I went back with a few friends and we had a Fantastic time. I have not tried the Caesar Salad here before. What makes a Caesar salad special? I don't know but it was "special". We had the risotto, the cod, the Salmon. The presentation was excellent and the food was absolutely delicious. I looked at the plates at the table and there was nothing left on anyone's plate. I had the Rigatoni Bolognese. It was the best I ever had since I dined in a quaint restaurant in the lower west side of Manhattan. I got so caught up in my review that I forgot to mention the Service Staff and the Ambiance . I've seen restaurants come and go, I suspect that The Prospect will be her for a while. read more

Have dined here twice and both times they ran out of food. First time it was steak frites and second time chicken. It wasn't even a weekend we came on a Monday. Our server was kind and apologetic. I really wanted to like this restaurant but sadly we won't be going back. read more

After a recent experience, I was very disappointed with The Prospect. The noise level in the restaurant was very bad. The other guest at my table and I were not able to speak without raising our voices. The food was mediocre. In particular, the portions were small and in some cases closer to hors d'oeuvr sizes. Our dining experience at this beautifully decorated restaurant in downtown Mt. Prospect was pleasant. Upon arriving there is valet parking but surprisingly at 6:00 pm on a weekend we found parking in the small shared lot without any problem. After walking past the luxury cars they park near the entrance, we were seated immediately on the first floor. The tables are uncomfortably close to each other which made it very difficult to get up from the table and for staff to move between the tables. The menu is seasonal and our group ordered a variety of starters, mains and sides. If you want bread, you'll pay $10, the basket was enough for 2-4 people. For our mains, we ordered the Pancit, Rigatoni, Corvina and Black Cod. The pasta portions were small and disappointing in both flavor and ingredients. The fish dishes were flavorful, well prepared and nicely plated. The standout was the Street Corn, a delicious, but very small side dish, enough for 1-2 people. The staff were attentive, knowledgeable and friendly and the highlight of the dining experience. Something to note, the bathrooms are individual and on the second floor, there was a line of people waiting for an available bathroom, each time someone from our group went upstairs. Overall, in an overly saturated area (the Northwest Highway corridor from Arlington Heights to Park Ridge) with similar mid-price, seasonal menu restaurants with good service, the Prospect was fine. Ambiance - the restaurant looks like it should be on Green St. in the west loop, not in Mt. Prospect. The decor and lighting make for an elegant dining experience The music was not too loud and very good. I am so glad there is a West Loop vibe restaurant in the suburbs. Food - We had the Octopus, Scallops, and Cavatelli. All three were cooked to perfection, seasoned through, and paired with sides that enhanced each dish's appeal. The portions are what you'd expect from an upscale restaurant, which I personally like. If you are looking for massive portions, this is not your place. If you are looking for quality, flavorful food then this is your place. Drink -The cocktail menu had a wide variety. I had one rum-based cocktail with spiced pear that I highly recommend (can't remember the name). I will be back for more cocktails. read more

Mediocre food and exorbitant prices! We started with 4 lam chops, for #32.00, not bad at all! I had the skirt medium rare, the meat was on the tough side but OK, My daughter got the sword fish which did not taste very fresh and had way too many ingredients, Her husband had the roasted chicken which came with nothing for $30.00 so he had to get a side od mashed Potatatoes, another $10.00 so basically $40.00 for roasted chicken. I'm not cheap and I have eaten at much more exspensive restaurants all over the world, I just don't see the justification here!!! the kicker is $10.00 if you want a basket of bread! This place and the food is amazing. We had the octopus, duck breast, and chilian seabass as well as a few cocktails and dessert. The food is as good as, if not sometimes better, than the likes of Perry's, Capital Grill, Mortons, Shaws, and so on. The ambience is upscale and service is impeccable. To the reviewers that gave it a bad review, mostly on price, I wonder why they couldn't see the prices online. The Prospect's Brunch and Beats event is such a great addition to this neighborhood's selection. Located in a quaint area of downtown Mount Prospect this place had such an exuberant feel. It was my first time there and we were celebrating a birthday with all my girls. Brunch and beats mixes delicious food with the sounds of amazing music by special djs every week. We ran into people we knew also dining there and the vibe was so laid back and fun. Outstanding service as well. We all tried something different and enjoyed every bite. Ambiance was great. We really wanted to love it here. It was very loud when a big group was seated near us and we basically gave up trying to talk. Wedge salad was very bland, dressing unremarkable, tomatoes were stewed not fresh. Halibut was nothing exciting. No flavor. Asked specifically for gluten free options and was told the Halibut would be fine as it was prepared from scratch. Was served something drenched in flour on top and had an allergic reaction. Portions are very small. Bill was $77 for two dinners, one salad and one iced tea. I hope they figure it out. Oh! And the salt and pepper grinders were coming apart when we tried to use them. We went to the Prospect tonight for the first time. We got there in time for happy hour and had a couple of items on the happy hour list as well as their happy hour old-fashioned. Everything was excellent. The decor was awesome, felt like a downtown restaurant. We sat at the bar, and the two bartenders were awesome, very attentive and went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed. Very nice experience! read more

An absolute pleasure dining here. The interior is incredible, the filet is probably the best I've ever had. Don't sleep on the bread starter -- it was actually really good. The service was impeccable and I could not believe how knowledgeable our server was (Nicole). She knew the menu forward and backward. The staff refilled water constantly; I couldn't believe how good this service was. I've not felt this good about dining at a place in a long time and it took eating here to realize that. They treat you really well and I was greeted with a smile and a "welcome" by passing servers as I was being seated. I can't say I've been anywhere more welcoming. Parking can be a little tough but there are enough public spaces in the surrounding area if you circle around. They also have valet service which you might want to take advantage of if you're eating there later in the evening. I really hope this place sticks around because it might be my favorite restaurant in the area now. read more

Words can't describe how happy I am that we finally have such an incredible restaurant in Northwest Suburbs. It's simply perfect! The decor is so beautiful and sophisticated but also warm and inviting . I love all the greens , golds and blacks working together to create an amazing atmosphere. We had dinner in their main dining room but the upstairs is equally beautiful. Can't wait to have drinks in their lounge/patio area. My favorite part of the restaurant is the chef's counter. It was so amazing to chat with the chefs and ask them questions about the food they were making. They are all extremely polite and chatty and happy to answer any questions. Watching our food being cooked in front of our eyes was an incredible experience! The food? Simply amazing! We had their tuna appetizer that was so flavorful and refreshing followed by squid ink pasta. They make all their pastas and it was such a hard decision to pick only one. They all looked amazing! Our main course was a 35 day aged bone-in ribeye that left us speechless. Service was perfect, drinks delicious and dessert a perfect cherry on top!
