Review of bar only. After an adventurous drive from Charlotte, NC with spontaneous stops along the way we ended here. We started at 1am! Boy did we need a cold one. I was excited and a little concerned 'bout the craft brew scene here, you know, coming from the brewery capital of the world. I was impressed with our suggestion. Considering it was 530 on a Friday we were lucky to find two seats at the bar. Sam immediately greeted us and suggested the Rubus Cacao Raspberry Stout by Mad Tree. He provided a sample and I was sold. Refreshing, not heavy, considering it's a Stout and leaves a nice raspberry tease on the palate. As busy as this place was, we received outstanding service. Love the extensive bar area and booths for families. Decor takes you on a trip to Great Britian. Although it is noisy in general, you are able to hold a conversation with no problem. Best Feature: GREAT food, awesome service! Worst Feature: Can't stay too late So I am a huge fan of The Pub - both the Rookwood and Crestview location. Everytime I've been there, the service has been fantastic! The food is quite excellent as well, and I've tried a few different dishes. I love their drink selection, and they are great about giving information on their drinks/food! They even have a sampler - you can pick a few drinks to try! The only issue I have with The Pub is their hours - I have a busy workday and a lot of times I try to invite friends out for a later weeknight. They are not open as late as other locations (e.g. Highlands Coffee in Clifton), so often times I have to find another place to meet up with friends. Sometimes I've been able to make it, but it really does clear out around closing time so I make sure to check out on time. Of course, for most people, that might not be an issue. I definitely love to come to this place when I'm looking for good drinks and food - it's a bit pricier, so be ready to spend $10-20 on food for one person. It's worth it to me, though, as I love the events and specials they offer for customers. This place is great for groups or dinners out with friends - not sure I'd bring my family here, though. I also love the location - it's not far from major highways, so it's fairly easy to get to. Plus it's right in the major shopping places in Crestview, so it's great to walk around and check out other stores in the area! The adult beverage selection is vast and the bartenders are always willing to offer suggestions! My all time favorite here is the goat cheese appetizer! This time I didn't get it, wish I had! Anyway, I had the seared Ahi Tuna tacos. They were nice and light but flavorful. I had the bartender sub out the nacho chips for coleslaw, which he gladly did! My friend had the beer cheese, onion straw burger. The bartender suggested she should sub out the red meat for lamb, which she did. She loved it! Great atmosphere, clean dining area and bathrooms, service excellent, and food is way better than the average! Why would you not try this place out? Oh! I almost forgot... We discovered The Pub somewhat by accident, but it was certainly a nice surprise. We were headed to a more expensive type restaurant in the Crestview Towne Center and thought we were in a more casual mood. Now we consider The Pub, both at Crestview and Rookwood, one of our favorites. The fish and chips, salads and sandwiches are consistently tasty. The servers are attentive, but not hovering, and always sport company T-shirts with catchy slogans. The portions are very generous and the prices are reasonable. NOTE- Whenever I eat at an establishment I look at the following factors: quality of service, quality of food, price of meal, portion sizes, and the restaurant ambiance. Located in Florence KY, in a mall parking lot (of all places) is The Pub. Modeled after authentic British pubs, the proprietor, Nick Sanders, says he liked the traditional pub feel with the modern colonial influence. In the center of The Pub is a large well-crafted and ornate wooden bar. From here you can sample one of many beers. On draft, The Pub offered English, Belgian, Scottish, Irish, and local specialty beers as well as assorted bottled beers. I had a sampler of four quarter-pints. Nicely done, these four glasses allowed me to try several flavors for the cost of one. They were presented on a sheet of paper titled "Beer Sampler". I tried the English Boddington's Pub Ale, the Belgian Stella Artois, the Bellhaven Scottish Ale, and the Irish Smithwick's. While all were good beers my favorites were easily the Bellhaven and the Smithwick's. The food selection was above notch for the usual pub. They included appetizers, soups and salads, hot panini sandwiches, classic pub fare, main entrees, and desserts. I tried the more traditional meal with Bangers and Mash. The sausages were good although they both seemed peppery. The server had told me one was sweet and the other was to be spicy to even out the flavors. I did no find this to be the case. The peas and carrots were of the grocery store frozen food variety and not fresh. They included a nice little salad on the plate with balsamic vinegarette - a refreshing addition. The potatoes were advertised as "chive whipped potatoes" and they were. The chives added a bite to the mash that, with the spicy sausage, seemed to overwhelm the dish. The Pub menu was fun, conversational, and informative. They included witty quotes, beer definitions, a Monty Python drinking song, and English/Brit word equivalents. As Mr. Sander's letter to patrons commented on the back of the menu, the atmosphere was fun, friendly, and one of conversations and relationships. I think I'll have another Bellhaven! read more

I've been going to this location of The Pub for years now. I started my experience there with participating and completing their "Beer Passport." If they still have this promotion going on I highly recommend it! That is... if you're an adventurous beer drinker. To complete the Passport you have to drink all the beers they have to offer (which is around 65). And when you complete this you get your Passport signed by one of the owners and you get $4 beers for life! Which is really cool considering their beer prices range, but are mostly around $6. Soon after going there I became involved in their Open Mic Night (which is Monday nights). There is a regular group of musicians that faithfully come out to this every week. All really nice people and very talented. I've played there countless times. They even have a waitress that is really talented that will hop on the mic to play a few! I definitely endorse Open Mic Night. Not-to-Mention, it is also half-priced burger night. This is a great deal. It's around $4for any burger and fries they have. They are actually really good. They offer a burger with an egg on it! Definitely give it a try sometime. You also can't go wrong with their Fish and Chips. And Their Fish and Chips are half-off on Tuesday nights during trivia... I have come to the Pub for years and only recently have we had a bad experience. Normally pleasant and good service. My server seemed kind at first, but we noticed immediately a very strong marijuana smell coming from her. We knew it was her because it was stronger as she came up and went away when she did.... There's no way nobody else or a manger couldn't smell it. It's shocking a higher priced sit down restaurant or any restaurant would find this acceptable. Only judging the bar area today. We just arrived in town after a marathon of a drive that took us from Charlotte, NC to Ft. Knox, KY to here. Tired beyond belief and all we wanted was to try a local Cincinnati craft beer. It was just after 530 and while the establishment was packed, we found seating at their crazy spacious bar. Not 10 seconds passed and Sam, the bartender, was introducing us to Cincinnati Craft Brew. Not only did he recommend something that would even satisfy this beer snobs pallate, he gave us samples and told us where the respective brewery was located. 1-minute later I had a brew in my hand, a smile on my face, and the weary feeling I had after a long drive was fading away. We checked out the food menu while we were here. Not one, but two servers made sure we knew what they offerd: good service. Unfortunately because of a previous engagement we had to skiddadle. We went to The Pub for burger week. They were a bit backed up, because burger week. My blood sugar started to drop, and we apologized and asked if they could check on either our food or appetizers. They were super great and made sure that we got our food quickly after that. So I got food before I started to get sick. (I usually carry snacks but had forgotten.) I so appreciated their being so helpful and great about it. I felt kind of bad for asking, but they made sure to let me know that they understood. The staff is friendly and lovely. I am here typically once a week to enjoy Wine Down Wednesdays. But I pop in other days occasionally. This is one of my favorite places in northern Kentucky. Live music in a warm pub atmosphere with the best wait service around. Sam, Jen, Clint--jolly people all around. Fish and Chips! They have the best. That's my go to. It's an impressive piece of haddock (usually) with nice steak fries and Cole slaw. But they have so much more that I love: bangers and mash, London broil, on and on. I walked in here on a Saturday night around 10 ish and after standing at the door for a bit, the bartender told us we can sit anywhere; we weren't the only ones standing at the door. After we seated ourselves, I quickly scanned the menu because I was starving! The place was pretty empty, but it still took the waitress a good 15 minutes before taking our order. Starving I tell you! Anyways, the food came quickly and I was happy. We ordered jumbo lump crab cakes, scotch egg, bacon wrapped dates, and chicken pot pie. As hungry as I was, I knew that what I was eating was good, but not amazing. My favorite was the crab cakes, I think they put jalapeno in it, which gave it a small kick, yum! They were cooked just right. I really liked the scotch egg too, there's a reason why it's a pub favorite! I'm not a big fan of bacon, but with the sweetness of the date, there was a good balance of flavor. The bacon was a little too crispy for me though. The chicken pot pie wasn't as satisfying as the other dishes, but it wasn't bad. It was served open-faced and there was some whipped potatoes that came with it, pretty good. I was not feeling the shell though, it had a weird taste. I think it's really cute that they have a place like this here. The pub has British style, from the decor to the food. The food here is a bit pricey for what they're serving. I think I would come back here if I couldn't decide what to eat. I'd think of it as paying for something a little different than the usual American fare in the area. read more

Go during happy hour! They have a great beer selection, but the cheapest thing you're gonna get is about $5.25 so any discount would be appreciated. Flights are also a good option here, particularly the wine flights, they offer a great variety at a much better price than if you were to buy whole glasses. The food is framed as classic English faire, but as someone whose family is English, I can say that it is MUCH BETTER than actual English food (which is like 80% bland sausage and potatoes). Their goat cheese dip is the kind of thing I dream about, and don't even get me started on the fried pickles **drool**. Overall I've never had a bad experience here, the food is always great, the drinks always cold and the staff always friendly. They offer Trivia on Monday nights as well, which can be super fun! read more

This is not only a wonderful spot to go have drinks, but they have really great food as well. While their menu doesn't change a lot, the choices are solid from the delicious fish and chips to the very tasty different ways you can build your burgers. My personal favorite is their calamari with yellow curry. I have lived next door to this place for 5 years and this is a regular spot for me, which has never disappointed. There is an assortment of great local beers that rotate almost weekly. Additionally, there seems to be live music quite frequently and the trivia on Mondays is great too! While I know this place has a theme to it, the only thing I would change would be to add more TVs. I'm certain this would bring more people who would love to come by to catch a game. Unfortunately, if you are sitting at the bar, it's very difficult to see on their small tvs which are placed in very random places. I believe their options are limited due to the layout. read more

Definitely a great place to check out for a special occasion (meeting/date), maybe not a low key "beer-or-two" kinda night... My coworkers and myself enjoy an occasional "Morale Meeting" (yeah It's not "morality" as I first thought, Georgeann G.). These morale boosting reprieves usually consist of myself setting a mouth speed record with beer and making as big a jackass of myself as possible. I was happy to find that the food was fantastic and the selection of rare beers kept a nice variety throughout the night. I enjoyed a few different beers (see above), so I can't list all of them but the food quality was particularly surprising. I tried a few hot-wings and had a lamb burger with steak fries and everything was just excellently prepared. This place is definitely an anomaly in the shopping area that it's located in. They done a pretty good job of setting the mood inside of an English pub or rather what people in the South thinks an English pub should look like. Either way, it's cool with a nice big bar. We stopped in here after dinner to meet up with some really cute girl friends of my buddy's wife and have a few drinks. I went with a Harp and they had a very nice selection of beer. Here's the kicker: My bill was a total of $34.50 and that's with my two beers and the two beers of my buddy and his wife's wine. So cheap! All of the servers wear kilts which adds to the English pub mood. Don't forget that people still can smoke inside, so choose your seat carefully. read more

I came to The Pub on my most recent visit back to KY in January with my mom and brother, and we were all very pleased! I had the pumpkin soup and hot spinach and artichoke dip and they were both really great...especially the pumpkin soup. I only got a cup, but had I known how awesome it was, I would have gotten a bowl. Mom had the sliders and we all loved them, and bro had the fish and chips. I believe his exact words were, "This is the best piece of fish I've ever had." So, there you go. I've had nothing but great experience at The Pub at Crestview Hills. The staff is friendly, the atmosphere and decor is fantastic, their drink menu is impressive, and the food is delicious. You can't ask for much more than that! I've been here a couple of times for lunch with coworkers, Tuesday night trivia with friends, and saw a World Cup game with a handful of buddies, too. No matter what the occasion and regardless of the company I'm with, it's been nothing but good times all around. My only complaints are these: - No lunch-sized fish & chips. If you want fish & chips for lunch, it will be the usual huge piece of fish and fries... I wish there was a smaller portion! - The lighting inside. It is SO dark! As if the dark wood didn't bring down the brightness enough, there are barely any lights coming from the few bulbs in the place! read more

The Pub at Crestview Hills is a favorite spot of mine for several reasons. Despite the fact that the place itself does nothing amazing, it does everything pretty good and the consistency shines. I have been really into the Young BBQ Burger lately, get it with the pretzel bun, very tasty. The fish and chips are alright, nothing amazing, but decent as well. As a cigar smoker, this is one of the few places I know where you can smoke a cigar inside still, so I take advantage of that in the winter when I can. Although the last time I was there they asked for an ID to have a cigar ashtray. I guess alot of people were stealing them. I should also mention the alcohol selection is very good as well. The Pub is a cool joint but once you get past a lot of the over-the-top British decorations and kilt dressed waitresses, it's nothing special. Everything is really new which is a positive to some people but it lacks the personality of Molly Malone's or even Gladdagh. The liquor/beer menu is excellent however with a huge selection to try from. A bit pricey but if you are a whiskey connoisseur it's a great place to relax and sip on a fine drink. As far as getting hammered though, I wouldn't suggest it. The food is very sub-par, I'd avoid it if at all possible. Overall it's a nice little spot and by far the best place to drink if you are limited to Crestview Hills. read more

The Pub has excellent happy hour deals that include 1/2 price appetizers. With an extensive beer and scotch selection, The Pub is the perfect place to bring a group of friends after work.
