I'm only giving two stars because the reception area and front desk is clean and well kept....the rest is downhill from there. 1) I told them my dog was shy and anxious in new places and could he be kept in a room that is generally quieter with more mellow dogs for play, when I returned I learned he was kenneled downstairs alone with a ton of other loud barking dogs 2) I emailed the owner after this unsatisfactory experience and she didnt get back to me--ever--and I didnt get a bounce back either so she got it. 3) I STILL thought well maybe I'll give this another try since they were so closeby, the third visit and like the 5th person I met who had no idea who my dog was was there....I told her the same situation/shy with other dogs etc/low key play room please/ she takes him downstairs, another young woman comes upstairs with my dog and tosses him in the crazy loudest room with all the roudy dogs. My dog was scared to death, and was standing there frozen while the other bigger dogs humped him. Finally after I pointed and exclaimed, another person went in to break it up. I havent been back here since last August. Stay away. Lastly 4) this place is for people who work nearby who only care about convenience, it might as well be a crappy kennel, its definitely staffed by clueless young people who dont know how to communicate with customers or with their other coworkers. There is a wonderful place in Enfield where my boy goes now, it costs me more in gas to get there but its worth it for my canine family member. read more

I've been looking for training and daycare for my 4 month old king Shepard. I can NOT believe all the negative reviews! Every single review is awful for this place. How are they still in business, let alone not sued?!? I would never bring my loved pet here. EVER. I hope everyone thinking about using this place takes the time to read the reviews. Poor dogs! We made a reservation for 9am here to get our dog a bath. Figuring this would only take an hour at the most, we were surprised when they said he'd be ready by noon or 1 pm. We had some other errands to do in the area, (20 miles from our home) so we said we'd be back around noon. When we arrived there, they told us it would be another hour and he'd be ready to pick up at 1pm. 4 hours to wash a small 20 lb., 12 year old dog? Ok, so we hung around the area for another hour and when we arrived at 1pm, they said they had an emergency and had run out of shampoo, so it would be another hour and a half! At this point we had had enough and took the dog home, still needing a bath. When we arrived home, we gave him some water and he drank and drank and drank some more, making us wonder if he had access to water at all for the 4 hours he was waiting for a bath. Pros: It's close to my house. Cons: I'm not convinced that my dog gets top notch care when she stayed at the ranch twice for boarding. Both times she came home with diarrhea and the staff didn't mention anything. She was "fine" and "healthy." Also, she came home both times extremely parched which made me wonder about her access to water. Also, the front desk staff can be quite rude. You're in customer service, people! Finally, there are cheaper kennels in the area. I'll be taking my business elsewhere. read more

Wow. Just went to The Ranch to use the self service dog wash. Woman behind counter said she didn't know anything about it but person who is supposed to train her is on the way. Waited a bit and then asked if I could look at the wash area. She said I had to have an appointment. I said I left a voicemail but no one called me back. She denied that I had done that and said she was "running" the kennel all weekend. Asked if she could call the person who was supposed to be coming but she only allowed to contact her through Facebook. Said she tried to call Amy, the owner, but she won't pick up. I expressed my dissatisfaction and clearly her go to response, "I don't know why you are yelling at me", which I didn't. All the while dogs barking and the place smells awful. I wouldn't leave my pet tarantula at this place. read more

Do not bring your dogs here! I got bad vibes the first time I dropped him off, did not like the attitude of the staff or the vibe of the environment at all. Something just felt off. I brought him in for a few daycare days and it seemed like every time I dropped off or picked up the staff was extremely unfriendly and uninterested in me or my dog and more interested in socializing with one another not paying attention to the dogs at all. There were messes that needed to be cleaned up, empty water bowls etc. The final straw for me was one evening my dog rolled over for a belly rub and I noticed a sizable cut on the inside of his back leg. I called to inquire about how his day was and if anyone knew anything about this, nobody ever answered the phone. Finally I left a message and never received a call back. Left another message because I felt that this was awful customer service, and still never received a call back. This place is poorly organized and run. They do not pay attention to their customers or more importantly to the dogs. Which quite frankly is dangerous when you are putting a large number of dogs in an area together. Please do not risk the well being of your dog, do not bring them here. read more

Do not bring your dog there. A few months ago, I brought my yorkie to this place for a grooming. The only reason I took him to this place was because the grooming service I use was closed for a vacation. I asked them to trim the hair around his eyes, cut nails and give him a bath. Nothing fancy, very very simple. I was so clear about what I wanted and the front desk even made notes on the computer. When I went to pick up my dog I found out that they SHAVED HIM!!!!!! Yes, without an authorization, they decided it was ok to fully shave my dog. I was so chocked and upset. When I asked the front desk what happened, she said: "we did what you asked!", I told her to open her computer and check what I wanted them to do and, of course, there was no shaving it it. I didn't hear an apology and They charged me fully for their service. After I got home I decided to call them to express my concerns. They had no right to do what they did and still charge me. After a few calls forward and back with the manager, who was EXTREMELY RUDE, I got only 50% of what I paid back. All I can say is that they are not professional in any way. I would NEVER EVER bring my dog to this place again and I do not recommend this place to anyone. read more

My experience was very similar to Gina R. Small dog tossed in with a lot of larger dogs, came out limping and afraid of other dogs.

This facility serves our needs when we visit the UV. My complaint is two-fold: I realize that dogs smell, but mine seem to come home smelling awful after a stay at the Ranch. The second issue I've encountered is that my pups seem to have pretty horrible tummy aches, to put it mildly, when we pick them up. This is not the case when we've boarded them at other places. read more

They don't answer the phone. I was late for my appointment and left a message for them letting them know I'll be late to have my two dogs groomed. I was supposed to drop them off at 9:30am. Upon arriving at 10am, I was told the groomer was done for the day. read more

The only reason this place is in business is because there is no direct competition. Customer service is horrible. Would go elsewhere if I could! There are some good employees but their hands are tied by the greedy owner who takes the profits and spends them on him/herself - not putting it back into making the business run better. I feel bad for the good employees. Shame on the owner. read more

I would strongly recommend someone think twice before leaving your much loved animal here. I picked my dog up and he was unable to stand on his hind legs, diarrhea, infected leg, was dehydrated and had a kennel cough which turned into pneumonia. 36 days later he is still very sick. The manager staff and owner felt it was not their responsibility to make that effort. They were very difficult to reach till my check cleared and have not offered to assist with vet bills.
