14 of us went to this place for dinner. Wait time was really long for both drinks and food. I ordered wine and it still took 15 min to arrive. Other than the wait time, service was good. For such large table our server took good care of us. Everyone in our table ordered drinks and loved it. Food wise appetizers were very tasty. We got all sort of stuffs from crab dip to queso dip, fried green tomatoes, onion rings, corn bread, etc. Fried tomatoes were highly overrated. Corn bread was so soft and delicious. We also loved the crab dip. For dinner I got the special. They had garlic stuffed steak with buttered marrow on top. As much as I wanted the steak since that's what's popular in TX, I was disappointed. I ordered medium steak. It was dry and chewy. I know I ordered buttered steak but it had overwhelming amount of butter, I felt nauseous. I couldn't eat my dinner at all besides 2 bites. Other than the steak everything was pretty good including side of mashed potatoes and green beans. My friends who ordered regular steak and meatloaf liked their plates. Have visited The Ranch during my visit to Dallas. The decor was really ranch style and I loved it. A lot of attention to detail. Tried their rack of ribs that were tenderly cooked, juicy and fell off the bone. Also based on other yelper recommendations, tried their elk tacos. They were crunchy and the it was a new experience trying elk meat. The mac and cheese served with the ribs was quite yummy. I personally loved the corn bread. Right amount of sweet, crispy edges and fluffy inside. Cute place for date nights and family gatherings. Service was friendly right from the beginning. Yesterday this restaurant broke the law. They denied accommodations to an autistic child. They harrassed a special needs family and caused unneeded anxiety. As a special needs mom myself i will never eat here again. Many autistic children have food sensory problems and will ONLY eat perfered foods. This is a symptom of their disability. Under the ADA-Americans with disabilities act, it is ILLEGAL to deny disabled people accommodations in any business that caters the general public. A restaurant this large should have management training on all federal laws including these. This restaurant opened itself up to a huge law suit. 1/23-32 children are being diagnosed with autism. You should definitely educate your management and staff on the laws that protect the rights of these children and adults or your insurance will skyrocket with all the settlements you'll end up paying out. read more

The food was amazing. We we started with "Chef's Favorite 4." All four entry's were outstanding but the Elk Tacos were the star!!! My wife got the 6oz Charbroiled Angus Filet that was melt in your mouth tender. My oldest son got a Carillac Burger that he said was awesome. My youngest son and I both got our own 13oz Angus Boneless ribeyes that were full of flavor and didn't skimp on tenderness. My mother in law got the Chicken Fries Steak that she said was the best she has ever gotten. I wish we had room for desert but we were all busting at the seems after dinner. To top it all of our server Josh was amazing. He walked the right line of just attentive enough without disturbing your beautiful meal. He answered every question we had and never left a glass empty. Had some time to kill before hitting the airport, and decided that I didn't want to risk another airport terminal chain restaurant meal, so The Ranch was a great choice as it is only 5 miles from DFW. We stopped in about 4:45, so we probably even beat the septuagenarian dinner rush, and the relatively empty restaurant translated into great service and a super fast meal. I had the 13oz ribeye and a side of Brussels sprouts. My steak, ordered medium rare, was cooked spot on and both the texture and flavor were excellent. The side of sprouts was definitely a single serving size (don't think you'll be ordering a couple of sides and sharing with the whole table). I didn't dare order the 33oz wagyu beef steak (maybe it was the $100 price tag), but if you are super hungry or just a glutton for punishment, maybe it's just the hefty cut of meat for you! The restaurant is huge, so it appears they are well suited to meet the needs of larger groups. Overall we had a great experience, and if I could give a 4.5 I certainly my would--it just wasn't quite a 5-star steakhouse compared to others I've experienced in my travels. I ordered the Oxtail Stroganoff. Was disappointed with the amount of Oxtail in the dish. When I asked I was told that it was more of an oxtail sauce which was not mentioned in the menu description. Loved my experience at The Ranch! From the moment we walked in we got seated right away. With covid-19 going on I felt very safe and comfortable dinning here. They had tables spread apart so we were all spread apart. They also had the qr code so we could view our menus from our phones. The entire staff had their face covered and we didn't remove our own mask until we were seated. Our server was so attentive and helpful. I ordered the chicken fried steak and my husband ordered the fried chicken and omg the chicken fried steak was so good! I especially enjoyed their gravy, it was prepared with pieces of sausage and it had a hint of jalapeño. For dessert we ordered their famous pecan pie and omg it was Huge! Not to mention, delicious! So we went for the smoked fried chicken, I also decided to try their burger and their fried oysters for appetizers. The oysters were really good. They sat on a bed of pico de gallo and it just paired well with the oyster. The smoke fried chicken is actually really good as well. Be prepared to wait on that dish for about 20 minutes because they do infuse the smokey flavor into the chicken before the fry it. It came with cole slaw and their take on potato salad. I actually tried their burger, it wasn't bad, but it didn't wow me either. Needed some seasoning or something. Overall, the service was really good, the chicken was good and the oysters.
