    A5 Wagyu

A phenomenal meal from start to finish. The A5Wagyu is an experience that cant be described for both tenderness and flavor. We had bone-in rib-eyes which had outstanding beef taste. The Au Gratin potatoes were cheese heaven. And our service was beyond reproach and pretty much unrivaled by other top steak houses we have been to in Dallas. An overall great experience

Service was over the top. Ambience was perfect. Food was delicious and exactly to order. I can't wait to return!

The atmosphere was romantic. Dim lighting, excellent service, and the food was amazing. Doug was our waiter and he was very attentive! The mushrooms were so decadent. The steaks were delicious.

I had a great time at Pappas in Dallas on a Saturday night. Service was 100% in effect and ran like a well oiled machine. I had reservations for a party of 3. Two of us were seated at a table on time and we had drinks while waiting for the 3rd person. That 3rd person arrived with 2 more guest. Without any issues, our new party of 5 was moved to a larger table to accommodate everyone. We all had a great time. We communed, joked, laughed, and ate hard, It was one of those rare moments in life worth appreciating. Everyone's food arrived correctly as ordered and was fantastic! The porterhouse was perfect with a lovely crust, pink center, and savory seasoning. It melted away as I chewed each bite. This is the kind of steak one longs for in life and will quench that carnivorous desire once consumed. There were plenty of sides for all of us to share. As strange as it may seem, the turtle gumbo stood out the most and was a winner. It came with some sherry on the side to mix in. The complex flavors after one spoon that surrounded the tongue was so stimulating. The asparagus was fresh, seasoned well, and had a snap to it. The skillet potatoes were so savory and had a flavorful crust on some of the pieces. The mashed potatoes were dense, creamy, and slightly rich. Last of all was the mushrooms which were stellar. Hats off to the staff for such a marvelous presentation and treating us superbly.

We arrived at Pappas Bros. Steakhouse on ChatGPT's recommendation, and not for a single moment did we regret it. From the moment we walked in, it was clear we were in for something special. The restaurant is beautifully designed, with a sophisticated, dimly lit atmosphere that feels both elegant and comfortable. It is quiet enough to hold a conversation without raising your voice, yet lively enough to maintain a pleasant buzz, complemented by tasteful background music. The experience began before we even reached our table. At the entrance, guests are greeted by an impressive display of premium beef cuts and a lobster tank that immediately sets expectations high. Since we had made a reservation, we were seated promptly. The restrooms were spotless, and for those who appreciate old-school luxuries, there is even a cigar selection featuring Cuban cigars. As impressive as the setting was, and as professional and attentive as the service proved, everything ultimately took a back seat to the food. ChatGPT promised a top-tier steakhouse, and Pappas Bros. absolutely delivered. We started with excellent glasses of Champagne, which were generously refilled, and then moved on to outstanding red wine. Then came the main event: two Filet Mignons, a dry-aged New York Strip, and a dry-aged Ribeye. All four steaks were cooked to perfection. The medium-plus orders arrived exactly as requested, while the medium steak displayed the ideal warm pink center. Achieving this level of precision with such large cuts requires real skill, and the kitchen deserves tremendous credit. Special recognition also goes to the aging process. The beef developed a remarkable depth of flavor, particularly the Ribeye, which delivered an almost heavenly richness. The side dishes were equally impressive. The asparagus was exceptional, perfectly cooked and not drowned in butter. The roasted wild mushrooms turned out to be an absolute delicacy and disappeared from the table within minutes. The potatoes au gratin were the only dish that left a little room for improvement. While still delicious, they could have benefited from slightly less melted cheese on top and potatoes cooked a touch less, as they were somewhat softer than what one would expect from a classic gratin. We finished with two excellent desserts. The Key Lime Pie earned high praise from those who enjoy the genre. As someone who gravitates toward chocolate, I thoroughly enjoyed the Turtle Mousse Tart, featuring chocolate mousse, salted caramel, and an Oreo crust. It was indulgently sweet without feeling overwhelmingly heavy, if such a thing is even possible. One of the evening's most memorable moments came unexpectedly. After we asked our server to take a photo of our group, she noticed we seemed to be celebrating and asked about the occasion. Since we were indeed celebrating, she graciously offered dessert on the house. It was one of those thoughtful gestures that elevate a meal into a truly memorable hospitality experience. In total, we paid approximately $668, including a 20% gratuity, for four entrées, three side dishes, six glasses of wine and Champagne, and two complimentary desserts. It was not an inexpensive evening, but we walked away feeling that every single dollar was worth it. Highly recommended. If you are looking for one of the finest steakhouse experiences in Dallas, Pappas Bros. Steakhouse more than lives up to its reputation.

This is by far one of my favorite steakhouse restaurants. The service is exceptional and the food is delicious. The restaurant is beautiful and would highly recommend. We had the lobster bisque and scallops to start the meal. The lobster bisque was a well seasoned and they add pepper to the dish table side if you want. The scallops were perfectly cooked and the flavorful juice/butter soaked into the bread. The whole dish went well together and definitely got my appetite ready. The ribeye was well marbled and cooked to a perfect medium rare. We had the onion rings, potatoes au gratin, and mushrooms. All the sides completed the meal perfectly. I would highly recommend the potatoes and mushroom sides.

Thursday night dinner with coworkers We had a private room for our group of 17. Favorite appetizers: crab cakes - jumbo lump crab sent from heaven above. Battered and fried to perfection. Not too much breading. Meal: broiled salmon fillet. Cooked med well, nice sauce on top and 3 jumbo shrimp. Not sure why they cant have a shrimp dish at a steak house when they clearly have shrimp. I really cant eat steak. The salmon was good and filling and especially with the apps and sides. We also got sides of au gratin potatoes, lobster deviled eggs and lobster mac and cheese. I like how they deconstruct the deviled egg and allow you to fix your own. I need to go back and get more crab cakes. I could have built a meal of apps and sides too. The place was busy as it was Thursday night, service was really good.

Man, where do I even start... this was hands down an amazing experience from start to finish. The food was top-tier, the atmosphere was perfect, and the service really took it over the top. Huge shoutout to our server Phillip -- he was incredible. Super attentive, knowledgeable, and made sure everything was exactly how we wanted it all night. That kind of service really makes a difference. Also had to show love -- shoutout to VCU and his hometown for winning a March Madness game, that made the night even better! Now the food... The steak cooked medium well plus was PERFECT -- juicy, flavorful, and cooked exactly right. And listen... if you go, you HAVE to get the Midnight Cake. No debate. That was the perfect way to end a birthday dinner. Overall, this is an elite spot for a celebration. If you're looking for a place to have a birthday dinner, impress someone, or just enjoy great food and service -- this is it. Highly recomm

A traditional classy American steakhouse never goes out of style. Everyone in Dallas is familiar with Pappas Steakhouse and there's a lot of hype around it, all for good reason. This is situated between 2 highways and a few other sister restaurants. There's valet and regular parking - walking in, it feels like a fancy and high class experience already. We were seated immediately and our waiter was quick to stop by. He was excellent and clearly has been in high class hospitality for decades. The bread they bring to the table is an entire little loaf, it's served steaming hot. Soft and airy on the inside and crunchy on the outside. We skipped appetizers and had a filet, ribeye, and lobster Mac n cheese. The filet... so so so delicious. The ribeye was fantastic too. They're cooked so simply you can tell the cut of meat is truly the best quality. One of the best filets I've had. The Mac n cheese was good - not too rich or cheesy. We were celebrating so our waiter brought by dessert and let me tell you, the cheesecake could serve 4-5 people. HUGE. Very delicious though. Overall, highly recommend. Super classy, traditional steakhouse experience with excellent service.

A steakhouse is an American institution like no other. It's a true experience of purity and beauty of meat that has now spread around the world. Pappas, like many stories in America, is a story of immigrants. Founded by a Greek family with the first location in Houston in 1995 and expanding to Dallas in 1998, passed down from one generation to the next. Thus, this location has now a historic spot in the dining scene of Texas. It is incredibly popular and for great reasons. The filet mignon was perhaps the best out there. Flavorful and tender, cooked just right. It's a steak to remember without doubt. With a backdrop of piano music and an excellent Gigondas, this was a genuinely incredible dinner. From Simon the sommelier to our waitress, people were attentive and sharp. Pappas is everything that a steakhouse should be.

I walked over here for desert after getting dinner at Pappas Cantina across the street. Incredibly nice restaurant. Service was superb at the bar. You can tell they were professionally trained. The ambiance was crazy high end and white table cloth. Do NOT come here unless it's a special occasion or you are rich. This is one of the nicer restaurants in Dallas. The desert was delicious. The smores cake was probably in my top 5 of all time! HUGE! The deserts are HUGGEEEE. You can share them. They have a meat case with good looking prime cuts. I will definitely be trying those next time.

We invited a couple for dinner to celebrate their wedding we weren't able to attend. They are foodies, so we thought to try something different. The bread that looked amazing tasted like cardboard. The Hummus was terrible, and we are pretty snobby in the Mediterranean department. The Cesar Salad was good. Then the food came out. The seabass had to be sent back once, the second time our friend just dealt with it. I had the rack of lamb, which I get often. Awful flavor and strange celery mix underneath. The guys got Cowboy Ribeyes. My husband ate his because he hadn't eaten all day. He said, he couldn't make a better steak. Our friend had ONE BITE and didn't touch it after that. They bagged it up for him, and he left it behind. A $78 steak, not even touched. The mashed potatoes were great actually. Brussel Sprouts were the worst I've ever tasted. I think the poor server saw we weren't enjoying dinner and brought us out a complimentary chocolate tart, said to celebrate their married couple. It too was not good. Most everything was left half eaten or barely touched. I've never felt like I just threw $500 in the trash can, as I did last night. The food looked good (as shown in the pictures below, but don't be fooled) Complete disappointment. I say this as someone who worked for a restaurant group of high end restaurants for many years.

Often times after it's all said & done, you wonder - was that worth it? Thankfully, that is NOT the experience I had at Haywire! I ate here on August 9th, 2025 and enjoyed everything about it. I was with a large party but would love to return for a more intimate experience. On this Saturday, my younger cousin was graduating from Parker University so I was in town for the weekend. At around 1pm, I was one of the first to arrive at the restaurant. Unfortunately the parking is a bit confusing. There was construction being done on the same street when I went but there's a parking garage for customers that's difficult to navigate AND the elevator that connects wasn't operating at the time which was an issue for many (but not me, I got a good spot & walked). My party hadn't all arrived yet so I took a gander. Upon entering the tall doors, the space breathes southwestern elegance: wooden structure, leather seating, separate dining areas with highlighted ranch-style art. The abundance of space gives it an open-concept feel. The lighting fixtures are modern, the space was dim but not too low, with an option to utilize the large windows also. I was quiet impressed at the overall presentation. When my party did arrive, I wanted to keep it simple so I ordered the Chicken Cobb Salad and a Hibiscus Haze with Vodka. The table shmoozed as we ate some of the appetizers: the Crab Dip & Green Tomatoes, both amazing. The food did take some time but, considering it was 10-12 of us, that's expected. The Hibiscus Haze was splendid: smooth & flavorful, a great concoction. Cobb salads are usually pretty thick but this one was HEARTY. It came in a large bowl stuffed with the all the toppings. The dressing it was tossed with was well balanced but could've used a tad bit more. With some pepper & a little ranch, I was set! I defeated the salad but it also left me stuffed to the gills. Satisfying meal that I would order again! There are tons of restaurants to dine at in Dallas & sometimes you never know which is worth your time. Despite the inconvenience of parking, I'd bet my bottom dollar that this is a good place to eat. Whether you want a fine dining experience, it's a special occasion or just want a good drink with a meal, Haywire has enough to satisfy all interests.

I called before deciding where to eat on a Sunday afternoon to confirm parking situations. Parking is not easy downtown so this played a huge factor in figuring where, out of the dozens of brunch places, to eat. Definitely a bit of a walk to get accommodated at the actual restaurant so valet seemed the most reasonably enticing for parking solutions. Well, I called and spoke with the lady at the front desk. I confirmed with this little girl FOUR TIMES IF 1. They had valet available today 2. If it was complimentary. Come to find out it was not complimentary. And $7 for parking just doesn't sit well with me when there are ample free options else where with satisfying beverage, meal, ambiance, and service. All of which, I DID NOT GET AT HAYWIRE. I come in and although I had a reservation that I was 10 minutes early for while noticing tables available, I was told by that same girl who lied to me about parking I needed to take a seat. Reassuring me that it would only take two minutes to be seated. 10 minutes later I see coupled and groups walking in and guess what? They were immediately sat. While I am waiting to be sat at one of the three clean tables I'm staring at. I finally tell my boyfriend I am about to eat at the bar and he goes to the hostess stand to inform them our frustration and guess what? We were sat immediately. I get seated and there are two standing fans placed next to my table that's blowing my hair all over the f*****g place. I had to tell them to turn them off. What? No AC in this place either?? We immediately ordered and got the elk tacos for an appetizer. The tacos are WAY too spicy and way too salty. Too spicy AND too salty?? They're a no for me. You literally can't taste anything because of both! I HATED these little tacos. Probably the worst I've ever had. Ever seen someone attempt to pinch a bit of salt to season and the entire top comes off?? These tacos. My boyfriend had the chicken fried steak. He loved it (loves spicy and seasonings because he's Cajun) but I tried it and it was over seasoned. Again? Couldn't taste what I was eating. The mashed potatoes were divine. Enjoyed those! And then the green beans were tasteless. Hahaha what a joke. I ordered the barbacoa chilaquiles and it was literally too spicy to eat. Inedible. My eyes teared up, my nose started running, and I couldn't taste anything after a couple bites of the spice. I was so f*****g over this place I just ate my boyfriend's mashed potatoes and we left. If I had it my way, I wouldn't have paid for a thing here. They don't deserve our money and I HATE they got a cent from me. I'm livid. I hate this place W I L L N E V E R B E B A C K

We loved everything we got but the Vin Scully Fries and the lobster Mac and cheese were definite stand outs. They have matchbooks if you're a collector!

We were told we had to place our entire order at once, and despite our reservation noting that we were celebrating a birthday, he never acknowledged it or even asked if we were celebrating a special occasion. When we mentioned it ourselves, he didn't respond at all. While returning from the restroom (which was also uncomfortably hot and stuffy), I spoke with the manager, Jason, about our experience and asked if we could switch servers. Thankfully, Vlad, who had been serving nearby tables, took over our table. He was a complete turnaround. Vlad was personable, energetic, attentive, and provided the level of hospitality we expected. He truly saved what he could of the experience. Our group spent over $750 on food and drinks. The appetizers and sides were excellent and easily the highlight of the meal. Unfortunately, the entrees didn't live up to the same standard. One steak was overcooked and had to be sent back. By the time the replacement arrived, everyone else had already finished eating. The Salmon Diane was also dry and overcooked. To end the night, while we were waiting for our checks to be processed, Jason came over and told us the next reservation had arrived and that we needed to leave. We explained that we were simply waiting to pay, yet no effort was made to speed up the process by collecting our payment or offering to run the checks. It felt rushed and incredibly inhospitable, especially after everything that had already gone wrong. The only reasons this review isn't one star are Vlad and the excellent appetizers and sides. We've dined at many high-end restaurants, and this was by far one of the most disappointing service experiences we've had, especially for a special celebration. Unfortunately, we won't be returning.

We used to have night out with dinner but now we do lunch. We chose this restaurant based on the D magazine article about the best burgers in dallas. Goodwin's burger was rated one of the best and it lived up to their reputation. We had one burger medium rare and one burger medium well and we had one patty melt, along with salad and fries. All were cooked perfectly. Service was a 10 and the ambiance was a 10. Drinks were great and they had every bourbon we asked for. I would definitely return with my spouse to spoil her.

Upscale steakhouse atmosphere with tasty, veg-friendly options!…read more We had my friend's birthday dinner here and enjoyed the experience! The service was very attentive and friendly. They added candles to the birthday cake that we brought in, which was very nice of them! Apps: Cheese Beignets and Zucchini Chips - both were tasty! The beignets were small and not too heavy. I enjoyed the herby sauce on the chips, but wished it was served on the side! Mains: English Pea & Potato Pierogi, Mac and Cheese, and Vegetable Pasta - they were very nice to make a vegetarian pasta dish for us, and it was delicious! The tomato sauce was flavorful. The Mac and Cheese was also perfectly cheesy and I enjoyed the garlic breadcrumbs. My favorite was the Pierogi -- savory potato's, sweet brown butter sauce, and fresh greens to balance it all out! Highly recommend!
