I went here on Saturday night around 7. There was a a $5 cover which was worth the great time I had. It was pretty crowded already but my husband and I lucked out and found 2 seats at the bar. They had line dancing lessons for about a half hour and a dj was playing great country favorites. Around 8:30 they had an awesome live band. The food and drinks were delicious. We absolutely LOVE The Ranch. My first time at The Ranch, I was a little taken aback by the rules that everyone is complaining about, but I must say, the rules are part of what makes this place great. There is a reason for them and it makes the experience better. I have only ever experienced great service and the staff has always been so kind. I have come here with table reservations and without, and I have had a great time either way. I was hesitant to come to The Ranch the first time because my only frame of reference for a "country bar" was Incahoots in Fullerton. The two are not comparable. The Ranch is a classy establishment with standards. The patrons are a step above, as a girl in a "bar" I never feel uncomfortable and I always feel safe. Valet parking, also a plus. The valet attendant is super friendly and always personally greets us when we drive up. The food is great and so are the drinks. Although it is expensive, so just be prepared to spend a few dollars. The bands are all great and we love the variety of dances (I also have been one of the new people trying to learn the dances. As long as you're not obnoxiously in people's way, they will NOT kick you off the floor.) Overall great wholesome fun. I come here probably 2 times a month and I always have a great time. read more

I usually go to the ranch every Thursday! It's the absolute best place to line dance in Orange County. At the Ranch, they're very personable- the bartenders are great, the bouncers are nice (they always say hi!), and the owner is usually there as well! They have two bars, and a huge dance floor with a stage overlooking it. Its location makes it perfect since there is always parking. If you enjoy country music, or even if you don't and you want to try line dancing- I definitely recommend coming to the Ranch Saloon. On Thursday's there is usually a younger crowd with a DJ (and not every song is country!). On the weekends, they are known for their live music and family night! Came here for a work dinner, which is completely not the best place to talk business, but so fun otherwise! Food was awesome, appetizers were amazing: fried pickles, deviled eggs, fries, chicken fingers, and the fluffy bread with jam was the best (sorry, don't remember the name). Granted, I was coming off of a 3 day cleanse, so I might be biased, but there was a large group and everyone liked the food. I ordered the lobster salad, and it was delicious. It was light, bright, and lots of lobster. Also tried the deconstructed mars bar and wow...totally worth the unaccustomed sugar rush. The saloon is pretty cool, but I do think the bar area might be a bit crowded. It gets louder as the night goes on since there's a space for dancing in the middle of the room, and people really country line dance. It's fun to watch and there are some great dancers out there. There was a dance off competition for tickets to stagecoach that night so it was fun to watch the boot stomping, twirlin', and hair whipping. I absolutely love this place! I've been coming here almost every week for the last 3 years with friends and ALWAYS receive great service from Katie (a server) and she is a total sweetheart. She always takes care of us, and so does Trey (a bartender). Drink and food prices are pretty fair considering it's a pretty nice place...they also don't gyp you on alcohol in mixed drinks like most places. Bathrooms are always pristine, dance floor is VERY nice as there are no drinks allowed on it, and they're always on top of spills and/or broken glass. It's a beautiful place with professional and attentive staff...and I feel safe here. I've left my purse and/or phone on a table to go dance and no one has ever messed with it because security is on top of their shit. read more

Imagine a clean well lit country themed club with an awesome live band playing an even mix of country rock and pop hits and you've found The Ranch in Anahiem. The food is fantastic. There is a great upscale crowd. It is in Orange County after all. Ice water is self serve which is great for those who just came to dance. I went on a Saturday night. There was a few of the standard line dances and two steps mixed in with plenty of free style so EVERYONE has a chance to dance. Like most country dance clubs there is two lessons both were great and easy to follow. Go here, but don't expect a table unless you're willing to pay a hefty drink minimum. Thought I would write a quick follow up from my last post a while back. The Ranch Saloon is still "the place" IMHO. Every time I have been there has always been fabulous, and I do mean FABULOUS! I have met many very nice people there. The Ranch is close to my house so I try to go a couple times a week. Learning country/western dancing is so much more fun than I ever suspected. It seems that country/western people are right fine folk. The regular patrons have been very friendly to me as a beginner. Even the best dancers there, seeing that I'm serious about learning country/western dancing, have been pulling me aside and offering me really good tips and instructions! Besides learning to dance country/western, which in its self has been way fun, I enjoy "people watching". In the few months that I've been going to The Ranch I have seen lots of people (probably a thousand) having a lot of fun and a really good time. I have talked to people that come from a long distance ( Carlsbad - Redondo Beach) to be having fun at The Ranch so I guess I'm not the only one to think this is "the place" to be. Yea, it is sometimes next to impossible to find a place to sit, well when you're at the best country/western place around and it is crowded that's how it is. Just deal with it and have a great time anyway! I have read a few reviews from some dissatisfied customers. I would like to offer a few comments concerning possible unpleasant situations: I you are a first timer or a beginner having some difficulty with your two step dancing (like I did) get to the center area of the dance floor to practice getting better. That way you are not in the way of the better dancers that are more to the rim of the dance floor. I have seen some struggling beginners that were sometimes in the way and being noticed but it seemed as long as the beginner was making a real effort to learn the dance everyone was understanding. If you are interfering too much with other dancers then you WILL be noticed by the security staff and asked to leave the dance floor. OK, don't get offended simply try again later. Hey, we're here to have a good time right!! If you are approached by security staff ALWAYS be respectful to their requests, even if you feel you have been unfairly treated. These guys are only doing the job that they are hired to do and are under orders to enforce the few rules of the saloon. Their job is even more difficult on weekends when the place is very crowded. All of the security staff that I've met are real gentlemen and will respond respectfully to people that show respect. Being disrespectful or confrontational with the security staff is not a good idea, trust me on this. Cursing, swearing, or displaying disrespect to any employee of The Ranch (or any other establishment) over a misunderstanding of an order or the tab or anything else will NOT endear anyone to your point of view (and your complaint may well be valid!). It really doesn't mater whether you spend $10, $100, or $1000 dollars, that does not give you the right to verbally abuse or act disrespectfully to an employee.............ever!! If there is an issue that can not be resolved by one of the serving or security staff then request to speak to management. The managers that I've met (Steve and Brad) are real gentlemen, and I mean that! Resolving a customers issue is part of Brad's and Steve's job description. Simply present your grievance with diplomacy and respect and the chances are you will receive satisfaction. So the two key words here are DIPLOMACY and RESPECT!! Hey, after all it is management's job to make sure that things run smoothly so customers of The Ranch have a wonderful experience and will want to return for more great times! read more

I drive up here from San Diego pretty much every other weekend just to go to this bar!! The best country bar I've ever been to and the number one reason I started listening to country again after a long hiatus! I would go early and take a class at 6 pm and stay all night! The band is also amazing and plays the perfect amount of country with a little mainstream top 40 as well! The staff is always SO accommodating and take great care of us every time we are there!! Came here after a LONG day at Disneyland! I was tired and hungry, but it was for my birthday, so I didn't hesitate to go hard and eat fancy! I was happy to find an relatively upscale restaurant which allows casual wear dining because there was no way that I could have been fancy after going to Disneyland and getting splashed by Splash Mountain. I was famished, and opted to skip the wait-for-appetizer-then-entree-B.S. and just dive right into the main course. BAD IDEA, apparently the expect you to get appetizer to wait for the main course. Whoops. When the food finally arrived, I was ecstatic. Totally instagram worthy, but I was too hungry and the lighting was too dim. I ate my whole main course, duck confit, no leftovers. It was savory and delicious and very very rich. My boyfriend ordered the something with veggies and pancetta (LOL I don't remember the fancy name) and he ate everything! He usually picks out the veggies, so I was very surprised at this near empty plate. We also ordered Lobster Mac n' Cheese! It was scrumptious! Ooey-gooey cheese with chunks of lobsters topped with crunchy and garlicky breadcrumbs~ It was definitely worth the wait. After we were done, we unfortunately had to wait about 30 minutes for our server to come to our table and give us our check. Not sure what happened, but he was very apologetic and offered free dessert. Thank you, but we're still stuffed! I eventually decided to take it to-go because of the server's persistence. (Okay, you get some brownie points.) I look forward to comeback to get more LOBSTER MAC N CHEESE(!!!), and to try other entree options, and definitely going to order an appetizer this time (so the wait isn't that bad). read more

YEEEEEEES!!! Went out recently and had the BEST time. Everyone dances with each other, great positive energy, LIVE music when I was there, dance lessons... Two things that I really love in a country bar are mixed crowds as far as age, and a good amount of couples dancing instead of only line dancing and they definitely have both. Plus, they have a full food menu which is great. I felt high by the time I left from all of the oxygen in my blood from dancing and good vibes! :D read more

We went to The Ranch last night for dinner with family. We reserved a booth in the saloon. The booth had the perfect view of the dance floor and we were able to stay there the whole night. We ordered from the restaurant menu: Starter: Spinach Salad- very fresh and tons of flavor the pt. Reyes Bleu was delicious Chilean Sea Bass, Petite Filets were awesome. The customer service was excellent. The managers checked on us about every 30 minutes and our server Colleen was great. read more

I've been to a lot of country dancing saloons in So-Cal and Texas, and The Ranch in Anaheim is one of the best! It has a family friendly atmosphere, and a Family Night promotion on Sunday Nights, and after the Teeny Boppers have gone home, lots of serious country dancing fans of both sexes are there till closing. Last night was my first visit to the Saloon. I went because a friend of mine was performing and, knowing that it's a country performance venue, I was totally blown away by how elegant it is. I was expecting peanut shells on the floor and the smell of stale beer. Nothing could be further from the truth. The interior is very tastefully done with booths and tables all with a good view of the stage. The lighting and sound system are state of the art, the dance floor is large and just the right slipperiness for dancing, and the staff was friendly and attentive. I was with a large party and our server cheerfully gave us separate checks, kept our drinks filled, and kept everyone's order straight. And the food! Everyone ordered something different and loved it. I had the French dip sandwich; easily the best I've ever had. Now that I know about this place, I'll be back! read more

We were out for dinner the other night and found ourself driving by this place. Being new to Anaheim we have searched online for bars that have a country music vibe to them. This place keeps popping up. We thought we'd pop in for a quick drink. Well if you're looking for a quiet little country bar this ain't it. There's a five dollar cover charge just to get in. So there's ten dollars already spent and I haven't had a beer yet. We figured what the hell we're already here let's check it out. Apparently we checked it out on line dancing night. So we didn't get to hear a whole lotta country music. Mostly we heard step one two spin one two slide and spin one two. Etc Etc etc Our bartender was awesome and very friendly. The place looks awesome and I'm sure if you were up for a upscale country type night you'd have a lot of fun. Came here for the first time on a Thursday night with my family for my 50th birthday. We were welcomed in and seated in the Saloon. Over a few hours it got really busy. The dancing here is great, the music, the food is some of the best I've had in any high-end restaurant, and the service was excellent. There are some things that won't go over here that might be tolerated in other similar establishments... if you enjoy out of control drunk 20-somethings acting like teenagers who drank their first beer, you'll have to go somewhere else for that type of crowd. ;-) I was even treated to a birthday dessert by the manager. I love this place! Me and my friends come as least ones a week for the line dancings classes. The bar staff it's great and so friendly. The food it also really good. Sliders are yummy! And the Fish tacos! On the weekends if you want a table I wouldn't show up any later than 6:00. My only complaint is that there is a cover every night all night! Spent New Year's Eve here and was not disappointed with the buffet. It was a feast! Chilean sea bass, tuna sashimi, salmon? Put all that with great company and its top notch. So now It's 1/09/2016 and we are back to take some power jam line dancing lessons and couple's cowboy cha cha and made new friends. This review is specifically for NATASHA: Let me start this off by saying I never complain. This was a customer service nightmare. So let me give you a little run down. It is my friends birthday party and the only thing we thought to do was to celebrate by getting a table. By paying at least $400 you would think our service would be decent. WHICH IT WAS NOT DECENT AT ALL. Our server Natasha was the rudest waitress I have ever encountered. We were ordering our drinks and she acted like she had a issue with us from the start. She was rolling her eyes at us. It took over 40 minutes for half of our drink order to get to our table. She continually lied by saying it takes a longer to make a blended margarita but we ordered our margaritas ON THE ROCKS. So ridiculous. And she also had the same excuse with our martinis that we ordered. It had to take another waitress to get us our drinks. So embarrassing! Natasha barely checked in on us while the amazing waitress Ashley took over our section. (So a huge thank you to Ashley for saving the birthday girl from having a completely horrible experience.) The Ranch in Anaheim is both a beautiful bar/dance hall and a great restaurant::: BUT:::: The dance hall has just a hint of country flavor.... other than the great decor; If you are from anywhere there is country dancing and music, don't waste your time; very disappointing. If "Country" is not important, you just might love the place.!! The prices are outrageous !! They are catering to the tourist and convention crowds. If price is no object, they have some amazing menu choices !!!! Many menu items that I have tried, have been from very good to amazing.!!! The restaurant is open from Wednesday to Sunday. If you've ever seen the "soup nazi" episode of Seinfeld, you know what it's like here. Management and security are crazy. Just to be clear, I had no issues when I was there but here's what I saw. People who don't know how to do the line dances get asked to leave the dance floor. Girl walks in and has to use the restroom really bad, gets kicked out of the bar because they though she was drunk. Went here for the first time last week to celebrate a birthday. We had so much fun! There were 8 of us and we had reserved a table. The max allowed was 5 so a few of our friends had another table. The atmosphere is just what you would expect for a country bar. The ages ranged from early 20's to late 50's/early 60's. No drama kind of crowd. There were free line dancing lessons and as someone who has never line danced before this came in very handy!! However, they only show you one type of dance and there are MANY different types! The ambiance was great though. The food on the other hand was just ok. We had nachos, fried pickles and sliders for appetizers. Flavors weren't all that. We had a couple of rib eye's for entree's as well as escargot. Again, just ok. Not bad but not great. The drinks were really good though. I made it a point to order a different mixed drink every round. I tried 4 different drinks and was not disappointed by any of them. I am going to be taking some line dancing lessons so I can go back and not look like a fool on the dance floor next time I go! read more

I am so over this place! Bad service! Here with a party of 18 and towards the end of the night wanted some water. Went looking around for the pitchs of water they have out and they were all empty! I asked a waitress if there was any more water and she super rude and sad "no and if you were not so rude to me we have bottles of water for sale if you want with a bad attitude!!" Dear Mr. Andrew Edwards, I have always enjoyed the live music and spacious dance floor provided at the Ranch. For the past two years I have considered it to be my home for line dancing and a good time. It was never the closest or most convenient country bar to where I am located, but I could always count on the bands, DJ Leo and staff to make it a memorable experience. However, this past weekend I was shocked when I was removed from the dance floor on multiple occasions for not dancing to "freestyle" properly. In the past, the Ranch did not discriminate towards either forms of dance, whether it was line dancing, two stepping or freestyle dance. DJ Leo would announce "freestyle" and EVERYONE could participate. Every dancer was aware of their surroundings and respectful to every type of dance. No one was ever removed from the dance floor for freely expressing their enjoyment of the music. According to your very own personal statement found on: http://www.theranch.com/saloon , "THE Ranch Saloon will honor your love of dancing to country music and the history of country music in Nashville and California." AND "The Ranch will stay true to your roots giving country music a home in Orange County!". How can the Ranch say that it will honor your love for dancing to country music and its history, when your staff is removing us from the picture? It is now clear that the Ranch is not home to all dancers. The Ranch has become superficial and is no longer interested in the true meaning of country music and dance. Just like the dancers, the bands are not allowed to express themselves freely and stay true to their own roots. Everything must be perfectly trimmed and edited for your live streaming. I will not be returning to the Ranch until these issues have been resolved. To anyone else reading this review, do not waist your time or money at the Ranch. You will only be disappointed.
