We sat unacknowledged for about 10 minutes then were finally greeted by our snobbish waiter and decided this place wasn't for us. Let me start by saying that the food was AMAZING! The Lobster Macaroni and Cheese was fabulous!!!!!! My husband had a steak, he said it was super tender and delicious. We had an order of crab cakes they were delicious as well. The manager found out it was my husband's birthday and brought him a drink! I thought that was an awesome gesture!! Especially after all of our other sour experiences. Our waiter was also amazing water and drinks stayed full without asking, When we were in doubt about anything he would say if you don't like it I will get you something else as long as you don't leave hungry!!! AND we did not we were nice and full! Did I mention there were 7 of us and they had he had no problem making sure all of our needs were met! We went here on a Friday night . I ordered the red snapper and the wife a steak. First off our server was great. She was on spot there every min we needed her and so was the water guy. I have no idea why others were complaining because we had a great dinner and good service. The pumpernickel bread was really good and we enjoyed that. The fish was cooked just right and the sides were just as good. They could have gave me a few more potatoes but overall it was good. One of the best steakhouse out here in Laughlin. They start you off with a whole loaf of bread & some creamy, soft butter. Then for our appetizer we had the best crunchy coconut shrimp w/ a tangy not too sweet Thai chili sauce. We also had onion soup which came In an actual onion & was delicious, tasty, not too salty like some onion soups I've had in the past. For our entree I went with the halibut w/ delicious, creamy risotto & steamed vegetables. But don't forget to leave some room for dessert. Chocolate Raspberry Torte is a must try! Here on vacation, I came to this place and made a reservation for myself and my family. None of us had ever been here. Very pricey which is normal for an upscale steakhouse. Absolutely delicious! The staff was great. Very attentive and courteous made great suggestions for dinner options. They continued to check up on us. My daughter and I had a New York Steak with 3 Jumbo Shrimp. My friend also had the same thing. My daughter and I shared and were full at the end. The steak was prepared medium and the flavor was mouth watering. We also shared a Three Onion Soup. It was great. My husband had the Porter House steak with Asparagus and again prepared medium and the taste was mouth watering. We took home half home-half the Porter house. It ain't Vegas baby, but as a former Vegas resident of almost 3 years, I can tell you that I know when casinos have good food. And when to avoid like crazy haha. Lemme tell ya, The Range? Ain't no joke. That is a legit, fancy schmancy steakhouse. With one hell of a river view. Gentlemen, take notes if you will. Wine and dine with a river view at sunset. You'll get thanked later (^_~) Sooo, a bajillion years later.. Wait, it's only been two months?! Well, I'm finally getting around to reviewing one of the best steakhouses I've had the pleasure of dining at in recent years. Laughlin, the "Old People's Vegas" "Old Timers USA" err..except it wasn't! I'd never been to Laughlin, so I was pleasantly surprised when I noticed that there were reviews from many of my fellow Yelpers :) yay! Now..when the BF said he'd made reservations..I laughed. Where the heck took reservations out here? Oh, a five star restaurant, that's who. Reservations made for a few nights in advance, and a quick river taxi ride from The Aquarius to Harrah's which was all of 10 minutes(most spent waiting for the taxi), the night of. I'm glad I brought heels because they were definitely necessary for this restaurant! Anyhow, it's located inside of Harrah's, near the main casino floor. The first thing you'll see is the glass French doors, and the etching of their name within the glass. Ohh-la-la! Inside is the hostess desk, and when you go down the hallway to the tables, there's a wall with the various bottles of Crown on display. Which looked cute the way it was lit and displayed :) We were seated with a lovely view of the river, just after sunset so the sky was a lovely pinky orange, tainted with a few streams of dark clouds. Our server, Alex, I think, was really nice and once my BF had informed him it was my first time, I was given several recommendations as I'm a steak kinda girl. I ended up going with the 14oz New York, Lobster Bisque soup, and added on a pound of crab legs to make it a surf and turf meal. They have a full bar, so I opted to start with a Washington Apple on the rocks followed by a little Tennessee Honey straight. Traditional of every steak house, we received a tray of bread. Squaw and white I believe, but they were baked together in tiny little loaves! BF ordered the Alaskan King Crab Legs ($55) with the same soup and..another side that I forgot. My steak was beautifully cooked, perfect medium rare, with a little extra blood, just the way I like it. My entree was served with a side of potato gaufrettes, and asparagus spears and topped with a Jack Daniel's Peppercorn Demi sauce. The steak was literally like butter. It cut so easily, was sooo tender, a nice amount of marbling, low fat content. Beautiful and just delicious. I'm drooling just reminiscing ha! Ive never really been a fan of crab or crab legs, but the Alaskan King Crab legs I ordered as a side, oh goodness! They were really good. I don't exactly have much to compare them too, but I like them (^_^) I doused them in melty butter and lemon juice but oh so yum! Moving on to the soup. Lobster Bisque, one of my favorites, and they did a good job, but it could've used a little more flavor. It wasn't bland by any means, but I wanted a stronger flavor(that's just me, so no stars deducted for that). The crème fraîche drizzled on top, chunks of lobster mixed in, chives. Delish!! Dipped the bread in the soup, oh my stars ;) happy tummy!! The chocolate soufflé was yummy, made with dark chocolate so it was moderately bitter to me as I'm not a huge fan of bittersweet or dark chocolate. The caramel sauce was yummy, and helped diminish the strong chocolate flavor. Adorned with a fancy powdered sugar "R" the soufflé is a dessert you are required to order when ordering your entree as it is made to order, and if you have EVER made a soufflé, you know it takes time. The ambience and atmosphere was very romantic in my opinion. It's got low lighting, once the sun is gone it's very dim and that makes dinner over the candles at your table, a little more intimate. I enjoy dinners in places that are loud, but every woman loves to be treated like a princess and partake in a quiet meal with Prince Charming. And this restaurant was definitely an "adults" only type of place. Frankly, for the price tag, especially just for the two of us, the meal we enjoyed was delicious, filling, deserving of five stars and it's made me very, very hungry just writing this. I guess it's time to make a return trip, huh? :) definitely a high recommendation if you're visiting Laughlin. You won't be sorry, though your wallet might be. read more

We were here Thursday night and ordered the chef special which had a ribeye with some mushroom sauce, crab cake, mash potatoes and veggies along with a 14oz prime rib with veggies. I knew it was going to be all bad when we asked if we can change the mash potatoes to a baked potato and the waiter said no. Which we didn't mind to much and then the food came.... The prime rib was dry, over done and barely warm. Hands down the worst prime rib I've ever had. The $9.99 one at Coco's is 100x better. The chef special had a brown mushroom sauce that was wayyyy to salty and ruined the taste of the entire meal. The best part of both meals were the green beans and carrots. The bill was over $95 bucks for 2 people and at that price range I should've known just to go to SaltGrass where I always get a decent steak but we were staying at Harrahs so we gave it shot. I would rate the place a big ZERO but the service was great. The part that sucked was the service was so good we didn't want to complain and also because we were the last table to be seated that night and if we complained, they would recook and god knows what angry employees would do to our food. So we ate all the veggies and doggie bagged the rest for our dog. Then comes the bill, along with a survey on service while the staff is right in front of us...so we were nice and gave them a decent review on the survey. Thinking back now I should've spoken up and complained about the food and gave them a negative survey review. Smashburger is now in the same Hotel and that was really good!!! But DO NOT eat at the Range you will be very veryyy disappointed. read more

Yes, it says steakhouse, but we ordered lobster (2-8oz) ($59) and a side of king crab legs ($16)...actually just one meal and we split it...could barely finish it. Great seafood and really a very good value. Extremely tasty crab....out shone the lobster but the lobster was tasty and done perfectly. Ordered the side of their fancy mac and cheese and it was ok...not stellar but we had no more appetite to feed when we left anyway! Key lime pie serving....very large and very tasty! Did see the steaks on the menu and they ranged in the $30-$40 neighborhood for information sake. read more

Wow! The food here was pretty amazing. I didn't expect it to be since it's in a casino, but wow! The service is excellent, and the food was wonderful. We had the filet mignon with peppercorn sauce. Oh my, it was one of those steaks where you just kept chewing slow so you could enjoy every last flavor! We also ordered the wedge salad- yummy, and the potatoes au gratin- excellent. It was just that steak, though, beyond excellent! Worth the $40+ it costs. What made it better was that we could split the portion. Well I'm here now. My bride has a Dirty Belvedere Martini with a splash of Cocktail Onions. I had a Rye Old Fashioned. The bartender needs lessons. This is our second meal and drinks in 3 days. The only complaint is the drinks. Poorly made. The service was excellent, which is always appreciated. As a wine guy, I am unimpressed when restaurants mark up the prices to 3-4 times retail. Forty dollars for a bottle of wine that you can buy at Costco for under ten is really not cool. No, we didn't order it, opting for J Lohr Cab by the glass, which is generally pretty decent. The bread basket looked awesome except the contents weren't fresh. I ordered the Chef's Special, which was a 10 oz NY steak, blackened shrimp, veggies, and a dessert of creme brulee. The steak was served medium rare, exactly as ordered, but it was tough, refusing to yield to the steak knife, definitely not prime or choice. The veggies were forgettable. The Bearnaise sauce on the side was stone cold and tasted canned. The peppercorn sauce, OTOH, was very good as was the blackened shrimp. Creme Brulee? Awesome. Minor Quibble: Although there were many open tables with a view of the water, the hostess sat us in the back of the restaurant. I wasn't wowed and when I spend top dollar for a nice dinner it really should be better than I can prepare at home. read more

Great place to eat when you're in Laughlin. Food is superb, and fills you up. The beer list is a little lacking but not bad. The views of the Colorado are a great reason to come out. I don't even know where to start, honestly. First off, the service is amazing! John and Glen were our servers tonight and they made sure we were comfortable and weren't missing anything! I don't usually do steakhouses and we made no mistake coming here. It was a treat from the father-in-law and I couldn't thank him enough for introducing us to this amazing place. My wife and me visited the Range last night. We started with the coconut shrimp appetizer which tasted delicious. My wife had lamb chops which she said were the best she's ever had. I had the 5 oz Filet which melted in my mouth. Both meals came with a lovely garden salad and yummy spring vegetables. The service from Jorge was impeccable. He made great suggestions and was attentive but not in our face. His assistant Joseph was great as well. Excellent service. We have eaten in restaurants around the world.
