CRAB cakes for seafoodies! Panne Chicken for the rest of us. The chicken easily can serve two as it's two breasts (four breast halves) with huge helping of great mashed potatoes and a lot of salad. The crab cakes are mostly crab and not much filler which is very cool! Just be prepared to chill and you won't be stressed about parking of long waits. The restaurant itself is warm, crowded, loud, filled with silent shows on tv's around the place. The food is top quality, the service great. I love the dive bar meets coffee house atmosphere inside, they even manage to tuck a band into the corner of the small space. The menu is always changing but I have not had anything sub-par. It can get really crowded as there are fewer places to eat in Grayton then the neighboring areas. Don't let the limited menu idea throw you off too much. Pretty much everybody is spot on for one of the best spots to go to down here. Trust your GPS, it will take you to the right spot, basically in the middle of a neighborhood in an area you wouldn't think anything would be going on. We did get the Blackened Grouper, Crab Cakes, and Key Lime Pie. All of these with everything they came with were reorder material for future visits. They will walk up with a big chalkboard and tell you what all is up for dinner, watch and listen; that's your menu. It's a rag tag place, but there is plenty of atmosphere and entertainment from TVs, to people, to artists. The earlier you get there the better. Bring cash. read more

Always a classic! With all the growth and development out on 30a it might be tempting to skip over The Red Bar for something new and shiny, but that would definitely be a mistake. The jazzy, red atmosphere and the killer food is always consistent and it's really not priced for the snobby vacationers the area often attracts (sorry! panhandle local speaking). If you're there on a night where they have crab cakes, GET THE CRAB CAKES! You can get just one as an appetizer or go for the meal. Their paneed chicken is legendary and comes in dinner or sandwich form depending on the time of day, but last time I was there I went for the stuffed eggplant. Woo! Huge and super filling, but fair warning its not vegetarian as it does contain seafood. Pescetarian is so much chic-er anyways, no? Whether just for a drink and to check out the band or for full meal, The Red Bar is a 30a staple for a reason and should not be missed. read more

The food is amazing. They only have like 5 or 6 options every night. But all of the choices are great. My only complaints with the place are 1) price 2) they only accept cash 3) they don't split checks. A group of 8 was at my table. Mine and my bf's portion was $70. And it was really inconvenient to split the bill amongst ourselves with only cash. read more

CRAB CAKES are delicious here! this is the cutest restaraunt! Great atmosphere, good drinks, and a good time! the Chicken with cream of mushroom and garlic mashed potatoes are too die for! Also, their fish here is so fresh! They have daily specials which is nice as well! Small restaraunt so try getting here for early dinner and just hangout and enjoy drinks as long as you want! The Red Bar is an amazing local bar, be prepared to wait at least a couple of hours. Put your name in and walk across the street to the neat shops. Live music which is very nice. Bar area is standing room only. Food was average, but well done atmosphere makes up for the food in comparison to the food in the area it ranked a little above average. Parking is limited if your with friends come in one car if possible. Enjoyed and will visit any time I'll in the area. read more

My family and I just wondered in her while in Grayton Beach and were so happy that we did. This place has a very island like atmosphere; very laid back, eclectic and unpretentious while offering great drink selections and very good food. The bartenders were very friendly and helpful with drink recommendations. I had the stress reliever and a cucumber martini... awesome (especially the martini!) Also ordered the poo poo platter, a selection of jalapeno poppers, egg rolls, mozza sticks & chicken fingers... all to die for. Would definitely highly recommend this place and will be back myself. read more

Fun place! Just a neat "beach dive" atmosphere and simple system.....here's the menu on the chalk board, no splitting tickets and cash/checks only. (Although they have an ATM if you need cash) You MUST try the smoked tuna dip salad. No "chicken of the sea" here. It's yummy smoked tuna on a nice salad and honestly HUGE! Easy bike ride over from Seaside, too. read more

Been going every year for years..always on Fri night for crab cakes..they USED to be large, and filled with crab (no filler)...worth the $20..this trip was sad....the cakes were much smaller, filled with filler and not very good....looks like good things change...would NOT recommend now as they are just normal (or worse) read more

I gave The Red Bar 5 stars due a winning combination of food, ambiance and service. You have your choice of just 5 items every night but they're all good. Jazz band plays 5 nights a week (other band(s) fill-in 2 nights). Sit on the sofas or chairs and listen to the band while you wait for your table to be called. This place strikes me as a dive bar with a cult foodie menu. We both liked it. I thought the service was good despite the place was crowded mayhem. If you want a quiet intimate dinner don't come here. If you want a great meal served in a dive bar, do. We'll bring our kids here when they come visit, but not our parents.
