Came to Red Mile with a friend to watch simulcasting of Kentucky Oaks Day at Churchill Downs. There are no redeeming qualities to this facility, and we will never do so again. Awful! 51

It was nice and not crowded. Fun for adults, when they run out of ideas for places to try. This may become a once a week thing for me.

The rooms are small with the basics but we didn't have consistent A/C, reliable lighting, and no leg room to use the toilet. The floors are difficult to walk and navigate as they're uneven and posed several tripping hazards. It's quite a maze to navigate and the only central area for guests to spend time together outside of their rooms is out front which is nice except for the fact that the smokers also go out front so be prepared for secondhand inhalation. We read online that there was a pool, only to find out upon arriving that the pool has since been removed. That was a bit of a let down, but can't fault them for our misunderstanding. It is located in a convenient spot with access to many local places. I would definitely recommend trying "Pollo Azul" if you're looking for a place to eat while staying here. The venue staff that were bartending for the wedding were highly irritable and inconsiderate. One of the elder bartenders pushed over the beer stand and asked guests to help her clean up.

Very disappointed with my stay. I was genuinely excited to visit after seeing the photos online,…read morebut the experience did not live up to expectations--especially for the price. With the Hilton name attached, I expected a much higher standard, but overall, the accommodations felt subpar. The room was a major letdown. It felt stuffy and had a strong musty odor that made it uncomfortable to relax. The windows were painted shut, so there was no way to get fresh air. Basic amenities were also lacking--no complimentary water and no refrigerator, which was surprising at this price point. The use of dark paint in the rooms felt like an attempt to mask the age of the property rather than invest in a proper renovation. On a positive note, we really enjoyed the food at the Rackhouse Restaurant--it was the highlight of our stay. Overall, I would recommend the restaurant, but NOT the hotel accommodations.

Great professional staff and safety is their #1 priority. Located right in the city, just a short drive to get there. This is the most open cavern I have ever been in and you almost feel like you are in a dark warehouse, it's so big! No "tight" spaces of any kind. Heights might be your issue if that is a concern. If you have any climbing, repelling, spelunking, or exploring experience, this is a "walk in the park" for you. No experience is needed and they take care of everything. All you have to do is zip when you're told. Have fun! Shoutout to Bethany M., an excellent staff member.

Online booking mentions that it is a 2.5hr experience but with a smaller group of 8, it only took 1.5hr for all the zip lines. Overall a very fun experience and great with big groups! The Bad: Do not get the picture package!! The picture is taken at a standing platform after one of the zip lines, not an action shot!! The Ugly: It felt a little sketchy going down the barren hallway. It was a 5 min walk that felt like you were going through an industrial hallway and it just felt out of place to keep going if the signs were not there. On to my next adventure....

We recently returned to the Kentucky Horse Park Campground after being away for several years…read more We've been camping here for decades, and it has always been one of our favorite destinations. We did make one trip shortly after COVID, and now, in July 2026, we're back again. While it remains a very nice campground, it seems that some areas of the grounds could benefit from a bit more attention to match the high standard we've appreciated in the past. The lawn maintenance, for example, could use some additional care. Grass and weeds are growing around trees, electrical pedestals, and water hookups that would benefit from more regular trimming. The playground area also has grass and weeds coming through spaces that are typically mulched, and the surrounding landscape timbers appear seriously ready for some upkeep. The children's pool was closed during our visit, and it would be helpful for guests to have some indication of when it might reopen. In addition, the front office staff seemed a bit reserved during our interactions. We understand that everyone has busy or challenging days, but a warm greeting and friendly demeanor can make a big difference in helping guests feel welcome. One long-standing issue is the presence of mud ruts at many campsite entrances. The paved aprons are relatively short, and because horse trailers have axles positioned farther to the rear than most RVs, they require a wider turning radius when backing into sites. Over time, this has led to deeper mud ruts in some areas. Adding and compacting additional gravel or a suitable base material could be a helpful way to improve these entrances. Please take these comments in the spirit intended. We continue to enjoy staying here and look forward to returning in the future. We simply hope to see this wonderful campground receive the extra care that has made it stand out for so many years. The Kentucky Horse Park itself remains beautiful and well worth visiting--the campground would benefit from a little added attention to bring it fully back to the level we've always appreciated.
