Great place to getaway and just hang out with the fellas, watch a game, play chess or backgammon, pool & just relax. They also have some very cool events like a monthly steak, scotch & cigar social at a steakhouse close by. Beer & cigar pairing event at a local crafty brewery, & they periodically throw potlucks.

We decided to walk in and give this place one last chance. Still no customer service. A very lax attitude as the employee was visiting with the customers as if he was one. We tried asking some questions but again the employee was too busy in a conversation with one customer after another as if visiting with old friends. We did not feel welcomed. In fact we felt as tho we had walked into a good ol boys club where we were intruding and a nuisance. I would have liked to have had a good experience. Hoping this place would have turned around and ready to take the opportunity redeem themselves. Unfortunately that is not the case. So sad. This used to be a favorite stop for us. It's all so unfortunate. It's been a year and I thought it might be a good idea to see if anything had changed. It hasn't. It's so sad. The previous owner did such a beautiful job with the place. In my humble opinion it's going to hell in a handbasket. Again in my humble opinion the owner has no clue what he's doing. I tried asking an employee for some adviceBut they were too busy schmoozing with the good old boys club. It's not like we are dependent on them for good cigars. Just thought I would check the place out and see if it had changed for the better. Unfortunately not.

The vibe is great. A huge selection of cigars. The people are super friendly. I wish my area had a spot like this. Definitely would pay these guys a visit when I'm in the area! Cheers!

I'm glad I found this place. I'm not a smoker, but wanted to try a cigar, the owner recommended the Davidoff Cigarillos. Excellent choice!

San Cristobal Revelation  is a brand of Ashton. This cigar produces plenty of smoke with a nutty flavor that is pleasing--try one.

I can't say enough good things about this shop. The owners are always welcoming and make sure you are comfortable. They will make recommendations and even sit down with you and have a smoke. If your looking for a great atmosphere to smoke and enjoy yourself this place is for you.

Great cigar oasis in the desert, plenty of seating, large humidor and even a pool table. 4 flat screen tv's and drinks available. Patrons are super friendly, respectful and welcoming even if you're not a local. The owner was very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. Will definitely be returning when I'm in the area again

My Favorite cigar lounge! Great selection of cigars and the owners are very knowledgeable. They have free wifi, leather seats, 4 flat screen tvs, & apool table. Membership includes a locker and a free cigar every month! The have soft drinks, water, and some chocolate for sale. Besides cigars, cigar accessories, they have pipe and pipe products as well. Great place to hang out. Ron and Joel do a great job running the place and have events!

It's a perfect place for a date or a night out with friends or family. The focal point of the main dining room is the bar, which faces the restaurant's entrance. Meticulously designed with a nostalgic feel, the bar features blonde wood shelves holding hundreds of vinyl records, carefully curated design objects, and a DJ booth neatly tucked into a corner next to the bar. The beer taps are elegantly minimalist, and every detail in the bar--for example, the old-fashioned glass syrup bottles--seems planned to give a nod to history (specifically the late 19th century, when Redlands was founded). The main dining room offers plenty of comfortable seating choices, including a long bar along the center of the room. The patio is spacious and well kept. All of the spaces inside and out have music piped in from the bar. There are two restrooms just off the patio, and these are well-maintained. On busy nights, patrons can enjoy a drink in a standing bar area just off the patio. I love that the Overland provides a choice of setting depending on the kind of night you're planning. A romantic date? Get a reservation to sit inside, and it feels intimate. Just hanging out? The bar is fun as the mixologists make excellent drinks and friendly conversation. Sitting at the bar after 7 PM, you can watch the DJs spin the platters. If you have a larger group or just like to eat alfresco, the patio is perfect. The menu offers a really nice variety of drinks, including the pricier craft cocktails, more classic, moderately priced beverages, nonalcoholic drinks, and all sorts of beer and wine. The food menu is solid, with plenty of appetizers, salads, entrées, and a dessert. The real star is the tacos! These are very moderately priced at seven dollars apiece, and all three varieties are delicious! There is a potato taco, a beef taco, and pork chili Verde taco. I highly recommend these! The green salsa they provide is extremely mild, but they do have a variety of hot sauces on hand. It's worth mentioning that even a humble plate of tacos is served on nice ceramic dishes, along with good flatware and napkins. The espresso martini cheesecake is creamy and delicious, and the portion is really generous. The staff seem to enjoy working at the Overland. The servers work hard to make sure your order is to your liking, and food comes out pretty fast. There's a good sense of teamwork among them. The staff is also accommodating about seating or any special requests. We've been there on a busy Friday night, and on a Sunday evening and late night. The Overland is always at least moderately busy, so reservations are strongly recommended. The city of Redlands should be very proud of this establishment. Go and have fun!

We decided on weekend brunch, especially since there were endless mimosas. Our kids have a recollection of being down the class umbrella alleyway, so they were amazed when they saw it. A short while later, we were in front of the restaurant and were quickly seated by the staff. They didn't ask if we preferred outdoor or indoor seating, but we were seated inside right next to the kitchen. We heard that indoor seating was better for service anyway. The interior of the restaurant was "very fancy," and my daughter thought we were in a date spot. We knew we wanted French fries and opted for the garlic Parmesan fries. At first, the kids were weirded out by the arugula, but my daughter ended up enjoying it, noting the bitter and salty notes. My son devoured the entire plate (not the arugula) and asked for another round. We also ordered the lemon ricotta French toast, made from Brioche bread, lemon blackberry butter, whipped lemon ricotta cream, blackberries, mint, and maple syrup. They perfected the crispy exterior, which contrasted well with the fluffy bread. My wife ordered the breakfast pizza--a focaccia pizza topped with marinara, ham, spinach, fresh tomato, red onion, a sunny-side-up egg, and herb-infused maple syrup. This was really delicious with the tart, fresh tomatoes, the salty ham, and the sweet maple syrup. I ended up eating the sunny-side egg by itself, so we didn't get to try the pizza with the egg. Lastly, I ordered the steak and eggs, but it was sadly a small portion. I ordered it medium rare, and it came out medium. The seasoning was a bit strange and would have been better with simple salt, pepper, and garlic. The mimomas really made my wife happy. She started feeling it pretty quickly. She chose the pineapple juice while I got the traditional orange. Not sure if the alcohol made the food better or the other way around. I was brought to reality when I saw the expensive bill, though.

Definitely a fun spot for a fancy cocktail--or, in my case, a mocktail. I ordered the Hibiscus Cooler and LOVED it. The food was more of a mixed bag. I ordered the Poblano Burger, and the deep-fried poblano was SO good. Unfortunately, I ordered the patty medium and it came out overcooked. The fries were also a little undercooked, and the burger could have used more sauce. Tasty overall, just not quite hitting the mark. Then came dessert... and this is where the experience really went downhill. I ordered the crème brûlée because I've had it elsewhere and had been craving it. While waiting, I stepped away to use the restroom. When I came back, my entire table--including my drinks--had been cleared. I had literally just ordered dessert and never indicated I was finished. The server seemed confused when I questioned it, which made the whole thing even more awkward. And unfortunately, the crème brûlée itself was also a miss. The sugar topping was torched too long and had a noticeably bitter, burnt flavor. The server (and possibly a manager) apologized, and I was given $2 off the drink, which I appreciated. Between the okay food and the especially strange service and lack of communication the experience left me disappointed. The atmosphere is definitely the highlight, but for me, the service experience was enough to say I probably won't be back anytime soon.

I will say the serving sizes are not what I'm used to for a Mexican restaurant but not tiny, around 2 to 3 tacos per plate. I got the birra tacos and I do wish they would have had a side but it wasn't a huge issue. Now the music for the elephant in the room. It was very loud in the small space. I would say club level, which is a lot for a dining experience. It didn't take away too much, just made talking hard. Another summer specific thing to point out, it is not the standard California A/c situation. We were in not way dying of heat, but it was warm. I look back nostalgically at those meals, and we occasionally look for a fondue restaurant around the time of our anniversary on December 28th. We've tried the Melting Pot and Rok N Fondue in the past with some success. Being in Redlands on the 27th, we made reservations for Rok N Fondue. I was worried as their Open Table link was not working, but I left a reservation request on their phone and they were quick to text back a confirmation. Upon arriving, we were warmly greeted and taken to our table. We ordered their Rok N Cheddar cheese fondue to start. It was served with cubbed bread, tortilla chips, granny smith apples, carrot, celery, and cauliflower. The cheese consistency did not seem to ever properly coalesce. We did a lot of twisting a tearing of cheese to get the provided dippers covered and out of the mix. The taste was good, but the celery and cheese was not a good mix. I ordered the chicken breast, and Robin tried the Bourbon Street - Cajun seasoned petite filet, chicken, shrimp, and andouille sausage. The fondue entrees come with potatoes, mushrooms, and broccoli. The chicken was okay especially using their provided dipping sauces - Chimichurri, Teriyaki BBQ Sauce, and Sweet Chili Wasabi. The vegetables cooked up well and were tasty. Other than the precooked andouille sausage, there did not seem to be noticeable Cajun seasoning with the Bourbon Street entree. Overall a good meal, but not great. I really did not want to like this establishment. We lived in Redlands for more than ten years and…read morenever once visited until this past Sunday. Tartan of Redlands just never stood out. The only reason why we are here was because someone else chose this location. The inside was really dark--perfect if someone needs to have a good cry or a bad hair day. The tables were dimly lit with one candle per table. The waitress was friendly and helped us with waters and making recommendations for food options. So far, the impression was lackluster. While the everything was greatly overcharged, the food actually made up for it. We ordered a porterhouse steak, medium-rare and opted for two sides (French fries and vegetables) rather than the house soup. A good measure of a restaurant is whether or not they can cook to the requested temperature. The medium-rare was in fact a medium-rare--juicy, tender with a warm pink center. An even better measure of a restaurant is how they prepare their vegetables. The porterhouse came with asparagus and carrots that were roasted and seasoned with sweet caramelization and crispy exterior. I definitely want to come back in a Saturday to try their prime rib.
