GREAT craft beer selection. Meat-filled menu perfect for the keto-carnivore types, and at least one faux-meat sausage for those of you who don't roll that way. Staff is friendly and fast. When your food is ready you'll hear loud and clear over the speaker. Similar to the Beagle, plenty of indoor seating, but I believe the Seagull may win when it comes to outdoor options. This is a casual, fun hang. There are clearly a lot of regulars here. No pretentiousness to be found. They have an excellent draft beer selection and a large food menu, too. They've also got wines and cider and beers in cans and bottles. The pretzel with beer cheese was as big as a hubcap. It was soft and very good. Maybe a tad too much salt but it's easily brushed off. We also tried the burger and it was large and hit the spot. The interior decor is fun and funky and they also have a large patio. Good, friendly service, too. Good food, great beer, and a fun vibe. It's so odd when you are being a polite PAYING costumer and you feel ...unwelcome? Bartender wasn't blatantly rude, but not friendly at all. Put food in at 11:55, was told it wouldn't be made until 12, no biggie. Got drinks while we waited. Not offered a glass (or lime for domestic) for our beers, again, no biggie. Food came out at 12:05, freezing cold???? As if they made it when ordered and it just sat? Our pretzel was literally chewy. I was starving and couldn't even eat it. The ambiance was way off. They have wing wednesday and my top picks are there philly cheesesteak with fried green beans, lemon pepper dry rub wings, and the bratwurst. This is our son's go to bar. And Tim and the staff allowed us to host welcome drinks and apps for his wedding. The service was great and the food was so good many guests went back over their stay to eat there again. I know at least one that over a 4 day weekend was there 3 times. Cool local bar in Leucadia. Fun vibe w tables inside and out. Inside there are 3 or 4 TVs with various sports playing at any given time. About a dozen or so beers on tap and wines available. Happy hour M-F open till 6 PM. Specials include $.25 mini corn dog Monday's; 2 for $1 wing Wednesdays. Service has been friendly and welcoming the two times I've been here. Different staff each time. The food is pretty legit here. Order your food at the bar, they'll give you a ticket with a name on it. Not your name, but the name of an old sitcom actor/ actress. When your order is ready, they'll call that name. So be sure to listen for that name and not yours to pickup your order at the kitchen area. So far I've enjoyed the salt & pepper wings, BLT (added avocado) and the pepper steak sandwich. All a high level bar food. They're more known for their house-made sausages. Next time... As for what's on tap, a good sized menu above the bar. If you can't decide, they have a "wheel of indecision" to the left of the bar. Give it a spin and let the wheel decide for you! I sure do love me a classic neighborhood dive! And Regal Seagull definitely hits the mark here. The beachy, grimy-in-a-charming-way decor and abundance of tv screens to watch whatever sporting events are on give a really home-y feel (is that too much to say a bar feels home-y?). Their ordering system is pretty fun too, you get a ticket with a humorous name like Edna Krabappel from the Simpsons that they obnoxiously/endearingly call out when your order is ready. I would say I'm somewhat of a regular here as far as happy hour drinks and yummy appetizers like the mac-n-cheese bites and mini corn dogs, but I just tried their burger the other night and was quite surprised at the quality. Honestly a great burger for the price, I just wish fries on the side weren't an upcharge as I'm not a big chip gal. I definitely need to try their famous sausages next time I go for dinner. There's something for everyone as far as drink selection and a of of local breweries are featured, and while I love beer I usually try whatever cider is on the board because they've all tasted great - the most recent one I tried had a nice tangerine palette. The bartenders/staff are pretty friendly for the most part, and the few that are a bit more short, eh I'll give them the benefit of the doubt because they work at a bar and probably deal with some annoying locals (sorry Leucadians I still love you) all day lol. SALT SALT SALT. There was no salt on the chips or tater tots, which is a downright crime to potatoes. You literally cannot oversalt potatoes, just do it when it's hot. Instead, there was quite literally zero. It turned what would have been 9/10 chips and tots to 3/10 chips and tots. The kielbasa was insanely good, and the bratwurst and sauerkraut are to die for. Service is good, vibe is great, history is great, but by GOD you MUST salt things. read more

Went there for Wings Wednesday, a great deal: 2 wings for $1. They offer 3 dry rubs (salt/pepper, old bay, lemon pepper), 3 wets (Sweet Thai chili, BBQ, buffalo). FOOD Dry rub: they don't "mix" the rub they just spray spices on the top of the wings therefore you have wings with a lot of seasoning that are almost inedible because they are too salty, and then you have some "naked" wings at the bottom. 1 star (see my food pics). Wet wings: WARNING, BBQ sauce is actually Buffalo BBQ! I cannot eat buffalo sauce at all, therefore my BBQ sauce wings went to waste. Fried green beans ($5): Frozen pre-made fried bean... not good. SERVICE: You order at the counter, there is a line starting by the main, front entrance door. It took me 5 seconds too much to make up my mind on the wings seasoning so the person taking order asked the guy behind me if he was ready and took his order first as I was asking questions on the menu. Very rude. Actually I would say "lame". Especially that guy behind me had a long/complicated order...and wasn't sure of what he wanted... RESTROOM: 1 unique place to wash your hands (on wings night, you'll have a serious line when you want to wash your hands after your meal). I ended up at the bar nearby to wash my hands... BEERS/PRICES: They offer a very nice selection but unfortunately the cheapest beer is $6. There are plenty of brewery associated restaurants around that will provide equivalent beers for a cheaper price. Wine is way over priced. I do like the place, the vibe, some of the staff. I came in with a group of 4 friends after a workout class around 9:30pm. The food and beer were great, but it took a while to get service at the bar. Around 10:15pm they came outside to our table and asked to close us out. The posted closing time is 12am, but they never said anything about closing early and passively started to push us out. At 10:40pm they turned out the lights on us... so it was obvious they wanted us to leave. We were ready to order more rounds but clearly they didn't care. We were trying to find a regular weeknight place to go out after our late night workout classes and thought Regal Seagull would be it. It's really disappointing because this has been one of my favorite bars until tonight. read more

I was introduced to this restaurant by a friend in January 2021 who told me all about their $1 wing Wednesday deals. Since the beginning of this year, I have developed a problem. I can't stop coming here! First off, the wing quality, taste, and consistency is unmatched. I doubted my friend when he told me at first, but now I understand. I used to come to Regal Seagull once a week but now you can find me here at least 3 or more times a week. The wings are top notch, but the people who work here are even better. At this point I can't tell if it's the atmosphere, people, or wings that brings me back. Nonetheless, I am comfortable here and have a great time every time. My favorite wing flavor is the lemon pepper but it's only because I'm in a weird phase. Any wing fanatic would understand. They have plenty of other flavors ranging from spicy to sweet whether you like dry ribs or normal sauce. Try them all! I typically come here alone but always feel at home. It seems as though many of the people here are locals because you can tell if somebody is a regular or first timer. I went to high school in the area so I tend to know at least one person at the place. Overall if you want some amazing wings and a fresh selection of beer, and a welcoming atmosphere, COME TO REGAL SEAGULL! Their beer menu is constantly changing but that's because they try to bring in the freshest and most desirable kegs on tap. This area is full of great bars and the Regal Seagull is one of the better ones. The code is cool, the people are awesome, and the bartenders kill it. Walk down a few steps off PCH where there is a small outdoor patio, but go into the building and take a seat at the bar. It's a good size bar with high top tables opposite. You can immediately tell it's been there for a while and it has a scars to prove it. Part of what makes it so much fun. With a classic wooden bar top with a large tail to rest your elbows, it's easy to spend lots of time here. The back bar has the TVs you need and lots of memorabilia. But what makes the Regal Seagull so great, it's huge beer menu and their food. The food is absolutely incredible. Known for their sausages, but the Philly cheese and mahi sandwich are equally delicious. The service is fast and super friendly. Cannot wait to my next trip here. read more

Located at the border of Carlsbad and Encinitas, Regal Seagull is the perfect place to grab a beer and wind down your day. I really enjoyed the laid back atmosphere. They have an extremely wide selection of craft beers. The beer menu reminded me of Small Bar in University Heights. Everyone behind the counter was very attentive and always made sure your glass wasn't empty, unless you wanted it to be. On top of the beer selection, Regal Seagull also has a great selection of bar food. I of course had to get the tater tots. The portion of perfectly fried tots was huge.
