We just moved to the area from out of state. I was really hoping it would be good because no other place is local. The other review had me nervous to begin with. I ordered sesame chicken. Fry chicken, put in a sauce and serve with broccoli spears. Well it was chewy. I have never had it chewy. Hard to get that wrong. My wife ordered Moo Gai Pan and it was bland. I wouldn't call it great nor very poor. More like forgettable. It was May 17th, and I ordered chicken lo mein and chose to dine in. They keep the place at 85* extremely humid inside and it's full of flies. A quarter of the restaurant is used for supply storage. The staff sit under signs that say "no employee texting" while texting. The irony. One guy was siting at a booth near the TV texting and the other was texting while leaning against the counter. I don't have problems with employees killing time if not much is happening, but I was just pointing it out after the owner went through effort to create a sign and has security monitoring. Back to the food. It was not flavorful, it tasted like a commercial based vinegar fish sauce. The chicken was poorly cut and the noodles were tagliatelle version. The service had gone downward steadily for the last year or so. They forget something(delivery), or you get the wrong portion. The food is dry and sometimes old and reheated. My last straw was My recent order. Beef broccoli - mushy over cooked veggies, stuck together rice. Sugar biscuits, hard-so hard the sugar did not stick. When you go to their online website, they have their menu posted for their 3 locations BUT the menu availability and prices vary by LOCATION, but you don't know this until after you received a total for way more than what you expected to pay for it.!! I just ordered from the Cross Roads location and the price for the BBQ Chick Stick states 1 for $1.99 BUT in this location it is 4 for $4.99. This is NOT what i ordered.. I order one for $1.99 but this price isn't for the crossroads location!! WHAT.. ARE YOU SERIOUS!! On top of that.. I asked for a lunch size but was charged a DINNER size. So to sum it up.. Almost didn't eat here due to a rocky rude start on the phone. So glad I did. Me and my wife absolutely love this place. The portions are big enough to share or for leftovers the next day. Food is delicious to us. We always get the sesame/orange/general tso's chicken. Have eaten here over a dozen times and only once was it not up to par. went there last night. Must have been late. The food was terrible, soup salty. To add to that, I took my order to go, no one was in there. It took over 20 minutes to get 3 entrees a soup and egg rolls. I saw they had 2 orders done and she kept asking for the 3rd entrée. It took a while to get. But they had 2 people come up to the counter 10 minutes after I got there and they got their order, even ordering it at the counter before I got mine. This is unacceptable. This is the 2nd time something that has happened there.I dont know if they are going out of business but you go inside and it looks that was. Boxes out in the eating public, some coolers empty. I am so done with this place! We just ordered Teriyaki Chicken with steamed rice, crab rangoon, and Genral Tso's Chicken with NO SCALLIONS! Well guess what? The Tso's came with an obnoxious amount of scallions. My Teriyaki Chicken was inedible. First off, the menu does not say they are going to douse the chicken and vegetables with SESAME SEEDS! I literally scrape them off of the chicken. I mix in the small amount of teriyaki sauce they give you, take one bite, and spat it out. The chicken tasted like it had been frozen and reheated NUMEROUS times. Do yourself a big favor and stay far away from this disgusting place. Absolute buffoons! read more

I read the reviews before visiting and they almost pushed me in another direction, but I'm very glad I stopped in! I can testify to what I ordered (Mongolian Kung Pao & Egg Drop soup), and they were great! Hot, even when I got home, and fresh tasting... The chicken wasn't at all rubbery as previously described. I'm glad I swung by... Testament that you shouldn't always trust reviews... People's tastes can be as biased as their opinions. Thanks for the great meal! read more

my food was terrible. i like the rice pot in frisco, but this location is gross. we ordered sesame chicken, and mongolian beef. the mongolian beef was just a small amount of beef, and TONS of onions, swimming in a pool of oil. we could not eat it. the sesame chicken was not fresh or crispy at all. at the other location, they make it fresh when you order. i will never order here again. this sucks because i am moving in the new neighborhood right behind this rice pot. i guess i will drive far and go to the one in frisco, or go to the brand new panda express on 380. read more

This place is amazing. I go here atleast once a week to get the lunch portion sweet and sour chicken for $6. Super affordable of you are on a budget and really tasty food. There service is extreme fast and the staff is very friendly. I would highly recommend Rice Pot. read more

We used to go here more often but haven't been in a while but it has definitely gone downhill. We usually order the same stuff and it has always been consistent. But the last visit wasn't good at all. The staff and turn around on the order was great, but the food just wasn't any good. Flavor was totally different than before. If they changed their cooks, they need to at least have quality control on their taste. Cannot believe we waited so long to try this great Asian restaurant that is just down the street from us. We had the sesame and sweet&sour chicken ("dragon and phoenix"), and General Tso's pork. We had both steamed and fried rice, spring rolls and crab Rangoon. All delicious, generous portions, friendly service. Only disappointment was the scant filling in the rangoons. There are several Rice Pots around. This one is awful. We have been eating at the on Swisher west of 35 and it is REALLY good. Food served on nice plates withe real silverware. Our chicken was over-cooked and dry served on cheap foam plates and crappy plastic utensils. Food was just okay. I'll drive the 10 miles to the other location in the future. read more

Mariah got our order wrong and then didn't know how resolve the issue. On top of that we ordered the family size and the to go container is half empty!! She didn't care and had a bad attitude. I recommend she youtube or Google how to provide good customer service before she starts her next shift. My to go order was 20 minutes later than they had promised and I was handed my order like I was bothering them. On top of that... It looked like beef jerky and a bunch of sauce with no vegetables... This place has the potential to be great but it's so painful to call in an order! We've held off on reviewing this place because we wanted to give it a good response. Last night was the 4th call in order we've made since March. I know we aren't regulars but we've had enough interaction to be able to say this. The call in process is broken. The same woman has answered for three of the four calls and it's very difficult to communicate with her and she's unpleasant. These times we've called and she took the order, it was a 20 minute process and our order was still wrong. She even argues about what 'should' be in a dish and then it gets delivered with exactly how she recommended it, not how we ordered it. There is a language barrier that doesn't get in the way unless you omit or add an item to your dish, but when you have kids at home you need flexibility! I have a hard time paying for $50 in take out that I have to pick out more than we eat. What we do get is very good, but when we can only eat half of it, it's a problem. I realize our order isn't straight forward, but it isn't difficult either. Asking for only 4 of the 12 ingredients should be easy. I spend 20 minutes picking out so much stuff by the time we eat, it's cold. The other reason I have decided to order Italian on many occasions instead of Rice Pot is the menu having zero info on what is in each dish. The specials have the ingredients listed but the rest is just an assumption that you are fluent in Chinese food menus. Which my family is not, so we've called and asked ingredients and it turns into a hostile conversation. It's frustrating. I can't spend half an hour trying (unsuccessfully) to order dinner and then it be wrong. We've called to try to get it corrected but we've only been met with argumentive responses and offers to refund small portions of our bill. (Joes in LE forgot a dish once and immediately brought it right back to us and brought free cheesecake for the entire fam. They fixed it so we could eat. Rice Pot wants to argue and let you go hungry.) The service is just not good in regards to call ins. The times it was delivered it was fast but the food was thrown at me and not so much as a thank you as the delivery guy sprints back to his car. Rice Pot is very lucky they are one of four places within a 45 minute round trip or I think they might have problems. Positive side notes: The sugar biscuits are amazing, the Happy Family Special was a big hit minus the veggies and understanding that the crab is imitation crab even though it's not listed as such on the menu, and the Kung Pao sauce is great when you ask for it to be extra spicy. read more

We've have always had good experiences with delivery from this location on time and food is hot. It's good inexpensive Chinese delivery. Our favorites include Crab Rangoon, Beef and Broccoli and the Lo Mein dishes. Large portions that we can usually get at least two meals out of! read more
