Fun, friendly neighborhood pizza spot! My teenage son and I split a 12" True Value pizza (basically, a triple pepperoni pizza, named after the next door hardware store), and I had a small chop salad (which was pretty be of the better salads I've had lately; that probably means it's not super healthy, but definitely delicious). The 12" pizza + small salad was more than enough for the both of us (with pizza left to take home). The crust is hand-tossed, not thin but not deep dish (so medium thickness), and chewy enough to be satisfying. I'm usually not someone who would ever complain about the amount of pepperoni on a pizza, but the True Value definitely toed a line that made me think: Is this actually too much? This menu has a great variety for everyone (including gluten-free crust options). Have a picky eater? There's cheese. Have an adventurous eater? So many specialty pizzas, each named after a different neighborhood business. Don't see what you want? You have the option to build your own. Plus the menu has other options like French bread pizza, pizza rolls, turkey meat balls, a wide variety of salads (I absolutely recommend the chop), and you'll also find calzones and sandwiches (and lasagna!!!) too. Ridge pizza is a great simple American pizza, sometimes you don't want neopolitan, deep dish, Detroit, etc. and this fills that spot. I usually do takeout since I live nearby and it usually takes ~25 minutes from when I call in the order. Recently however, when I got home I realized a key ingredient - the mama lils on the martino - was missing, but there was nothing to be done since we were no longer at the restaurant. I have seen reports of this in other reviews, so more attention to details is needed. read more

One of my all time favorite pizzas: The Ken's Market. Sausage, very flavorful pepperoni, shrooms & black olives - yum! The dough is great balance of chewy & crisp. Honestly, there are a large # of pizza places that are better than this one in seattle. BUT!! Miami reason for the bad review is due to the service. The older guy, grey hair, kinda bigger is simply just super rude!! There is a place down the road that starts with D and lancy with pizza that is 1,000 times better and they are nice and awesome. Nice pizza joint that is open relatively late! We ordered 2 18" pizzas and it was more than enough to feed 4 of us, so while the cost might seem pretty high (around $37 for 18"), portion size is also pretty big. The only thing I really disliked about the pizzas was the tomatoes in the firefighter pizza: still pretty raw and detracted from the rest of the pizza. Otherwise I was a fan of the pizzas! Crust was fluffy and not too chewy, really liked the spicy pepperoni on the firefighter, and enjoyed the cheesiness of the autumn pizza. They have some quite unique options for toppings and I would definitely come back to give them a try! read more

Our family of 15 visited Ridge (Phinney Ridge/Greenwood) last Saturday. They took really great care of us. 7 of the 15 were kids - and it worked out well. They had food to us promptly and the service was awesome. We were all pretty tired from a day of adventure and appreciated the hard work that went into pulling that off for us. We had called ahead and asked if they might be able to take our order over the phone and they did exactly that - without a hitch. What an honor. The pizza: Crust 1 star Sauce 1 star Toppings 1 star Essentially this pizza was a pizza. But I feel like I could have actually enjoyed a Safeway select frozen pizza more. Even if it was a true version of a NW pizza I would have been very happy. The only thing I feel about it is they must be making something to fulfill the food for people drinking alcohol need. If they made even something close to as good as the other pizza places down Phinney and Greenwood they might be too crowded. Perhaps it is on purpose that this food is not good. My wife said I would not be happy, she was right. If you don't need food this is a nice place for a drink. There are some tables outside and when it is nice they open the place up. I haven't been to this location in a while but really like the NE Seattle location so I gave it another shot and could not be more disappointed. I placed a take out order for a chop salad and 2 pizzas. The chop salad was missing half the ingredients so I essentially paid $26 for lettuce, a few slices of tomato, black olives and shredded mozzarella. Before I left the restaurant I asked if I had received the right salad because it seemed off and was told that was what I ordered and was dismissed. The pizza was fine a bit light on toppings and overcooked but edible. The food quality and service really leave a lot to be desired for the price. read more

I'm a big fan of the Ridge in Phinney. It has the feel of an old school family pizza joint, big wooden booths, and lots of camaraderie. I highly recommend it for family time, but also had a great evening or two there with girlfriends. The service is great. Pete, behind the bar, is a gem. And they're tolerant of kids like mine, the picky eaters. The pizza is excellent, with specialties named after local schools and businesses, even raising money for some. Also like the Ridge NE but it definitely has a different ambiance, in keeping with the neighborhood. More modern and cool, but with the same great food. read more

In rereading my old review I feel that, 8 years on, I'm due an update. My star rating depends on what I am after here, to be honest. They are one of the few later dining options available in the area, especially in this post pandemic world where you are lucky to find anyone still serving food past 9pm. The bar crowd here is usually populated with a few friendly regulars and the bar staff is great. I know this will sound odd but I chose this place when I'm in the mood for a huge salad. Their greek salad is delicious, huge, and fresh. It's not really listed on the menu but if you ask them to make you a mini/personal size pizza (8 inch, I think?) they will. I found myself going here a little more often during pandemic times when they were rarely full but on my most recent couple of visits at regular dinner time this place was its usual chaotic self which I just don't enjoy. Regardless of what has happened with this entire pandemic/covid thing, there is always going be people looking for delicious food, and with restaurants suffering, I'm doing what I can to get takeaways at least once or twice a week. So we had a rare opportunity to get away from things, leave the baby at home, and have a quick date evening. So pizza was the thing that we wanted, and began our search of it. One place that we visited a few times, before this entire covid thing started was The Ridge. So a quick call confirmed it wasn't busy ... :-( .. so we went. I remember that in the past, it was a busy joint, but of course now.. it isn't. So what's there? PIZZA, SALADS and DRINKS. Yup, they have exactly what you expect and NEED. Awesome pizza shop in the greenwood area! Was craving some pizza and thought I'd go with a local shop. This is my go-to pizza place now. The large pizza is huge and definitely enough to feed my wife and I for several meals. It's not cheap Dominos pricing, but you get the quality you pay for. We used to get pizzas from Pagliaccis but this is way better, and the price is the same. Staff here seemed really nice. I was only picking up, but they were super chill and accommodating. This is the best pizza I've tried in Seattle. The dough/crust is cooked to perfection, the toppings are fresh, and it tastes exactly like the neighborhood non-chain pizza place you always strive to come across. I LOVE pizza but am also picky and often disappointed when I splurge on my weekly treat when it doesn't live up to my standards. Ridge pizza does not disappoint- yet does the opposite and makes me look forward to the next time I order from here! Used to frequent The Ridge when it first opened back in 2012, because it was a change of scenery from Zeek's. Then stopped going after not acknowledged for service back in 2014. In this timeframe, I started to prefer thin crust pizzas anyways (Pagliacci, Veraci, Mioposto, Bar del Corso) or the warmer service received at Flying Squirrel, Modena, or The Woodlands. The dudes also seem to frequent Razzi's. Due to parking karma by Ken's Market and I just got takeout from Hecho, decided to check out The Ridge after a three year hiatus (12/31/17). Quickly scanned the menu by the entrance. Finally, got the attention of the bartender to place a takeout order. I ordered The True Value...18 inch with tomato sauce, cheese, and a ton of pepperoni ($27.32 including $4 tip) I sat at the bar to wait for the pizza. Service was just okay...again not much warmth in comparison to other spots in the vicinity like 74th Street Alehouse, Hecho, or Opus. The pizza was pounced on as soon as I got it home, so it was welcomed and relatively tasty. I ate a tiny slice. It was okay, balance cheese to pepperoni was decent. Maybe if the tomato sauce was amped up a bit with herbs or spices. Would I add it to the pizza rotation? Probably not. Street parking proximity dictated giving it a revisit. There are tastier pies and warmer, welcoming reception elsewhere. read more

Was looking for a late night bar on Phinney Ridge when I came across this place. Was a bit worried I wouldn't eat because of dietary restrictions, but figured if the beer was good I could find food somewhere else. It was a bit quiet, which is super nice at 11 pm, so it allowed me to actually get my order in. Not something that is common in "slow" town bar restaurants. They were also super accommodating on the food (I technically arrived at 10:50 pm before the 11 pm kitchen shutdown) seeing as I am allergic to both coriander and garlic, two very common spices. The Dip sandwich is one of the best I've had in Seattle, and I have a lot of French Dips in this city (and outlying areas). And the drink selection was incredible! They had multiple gin selections (which many bars only carry Hendrick's and/or Bombay) and a great essential 8 taps (including the very tasty Dark Star Oatmeal Imperial Stout by Fremont Brewing). Definitely a gem in the Phinney Ridge neighborhood. I've come here twice now for lunch and both meals were tasty, filling, and satisfying. Great pizza, salads, sandwiches, and appetizers at generous portions and a good price. Also both times we received friendly, excellent service from the nice gentleman who also tends the bar. On our recent visit, The Hubs and I enjoyed the meatball appetizer and the Greenwood Elementary Pizza. We had them sub black olives for the onions. Excellent, light yet sturdy crust with a nice chew and generous toppings. The smaller size was plenty for two people. Recommend it. read more
