A dear friend drove to Buffalo from NYC to volunteer at an event and after a long day volunteering, they were looking for a hearty meal and some good drink. Seeing as I'm a Yelp-er, they wanted me to find a spot I hadn't been to yet, even though I had eaten dinner already on my own. I had The Ridge West Seneca saved in my "Places to Try" collection so I said let's go. Overall, I cannot wait to go back and grab a meal here and try the food for myself! We arrive just before 8pm on a Saturday night to a large gravel parking lot that was pretty busy, but we still found a spot pretty easily. We walked in and the hostess was able to seat the two of us at a booth right away! Inside it was very spacious with plenty of TVs going, a bar on one side, music playing overhead. Indoor noise was elevated (it's a restaurant that has a bar, it's going to not be quiet haha) but the two of us could carry on a conversation fairly normally. Our waitress came over immediately to let us know she'd be a few minutes as there were a few other tables she was handling. Fine by us as that allowed my buddy ample time to look over the menu and figure out what he wanted. I saw the St. Patrick's Day-themed cocktail specials menu so I knew what I was ordering. Our waitress though - Absolutely wonderful! She was incredibly friendly, had great personality, and was really accommodating in splitting the check (I took care of all our drinks, my friend took care of his dinner). Our waitress did a great job checking in on us at the perfect time, we never felt pressured, rushed. I didn't order any food but my friend ordered their Steakhouse Strip off the "Large Plates" section of the menu, and boy oh boy, did that look amazing! The 12-ounce strip was cooked to a picture-perfect medium-rare with plenty of tobacco onions on top and around the plate, and served over a generous bed of mashed potatoes and asparagus, served with a small cup of their A1 aioli. After seeing that, I certainly want to come back and order food. My friend really enjoyed their meal, the plate was clean! As for me, I ordered two St. Patrick's Day -themed cocktails: "Sham Rocked Shake" and "Irish Good Bye". The "Sham Rocked Shake" was vanilla vodka, crème de menthe, cream, and chocolate syrup and curls - This was creamy, delicious, not overly minty. The "Irish Good Bye" was Three Chord bourbon, Aperol, Amaro Nonino, and lemon juice with a lime wedge - There was so much flavor in this cocktail, the lemon juice added a pleasant fruity 'punch'. Looking at the prices for these cocktails, I felt they were in-line with most other places and they were made well so no complaints from me. The Ridge West Seneca really surprised me! I've driven past it a few times and wondered how good it was. From our friendly waitress and service, the delicious cocktails, to the fantastic-looking food, I am impressed. I loved the outdoor space! It was perfect for our group, which tends to be on the louder side. The only downside was that it was a little difficult to get the bartenders' attention at times. I told myself I was going to try something new since they have great happy hour specials from 4-6 PM on weekdays, but I couldn't resist the Everything Wedge Salad. No regrets, it was delicious. One of our friends brought her puppy and was thrilled to discover they have a dog menu. Such a cute touch! If you have never been here before one thing you need to brace yourself for is the fact that everything takes forever, getting a drink, getting food or even getting waited on. Believe it or not it is not the server, we have been to this place many times, no matter who the server is and we have never had the same server twice, its always the same. We ordered the wings crispy but they were just the opposite, pretty soggy and you would think they would have been crispy or at least not so soggy considering how long everything took. Went here for Mothers Day brunch. There were 12 of us so we sat at a long hightop table in the bar area. Have been here several times before and this was the first time seated in the bar. The bar area is not as loud as the back room but still loud. Our server was attentive and there was too much food to take any pics. We started with coffee and cocktails followed with nachos and tots. I had coffee a mule some of the appetizers followed by the fried green tomato blt. There were also 2 different pizza's a burger, waffles, stuffed French toast, vegetable frittata, chicken and waffles, sou & salads and so much more. Most of the food was good, a few said it was just ok. If I come back I would definitely sit in the bar area or outside. The parking lot is very large so I've always been able to find a space. I came here with some friends for Trivia Night. We sat on the brewery side and it was nice to order at the counter. I ordered the Garlic Parm boneless wings but was disappointed. The chicken was dry and there was too much breading. The flavoring was pretty good. Perhaps I came on a bad night or need to order something else. read more

We usually avoid going out for dinner on Valentine's Day but this year we took a chance. We were able to get a last minute reservation for The Ridge. We had a great experience! It was reservations only today. Not sure if it was due to staffing or intentional, but we appreciated it. On a day when they could have easily had the dining room full it wasn't. It wasn't too loud. Food came out quickly and was delicious. My husband had a Ridge IPA and I had a strawberry fizz. For dinner he enjoyed the buffalo stinger mac and cheese and my sausage and vodka sauce pasta was fantastic. I apologize but I do not remember our server's name but she was wonderful! I'm learning very quickly that these little breweries are great places to grab a little lunch. They serve more than just standard pub fare, such as wings, fingers, fries and onion rings, pizzas to name a few. They offer big salads, hot platters of Italian specialties, and savory soup. I've been wanting to stop here for quite some time and today was the day. Walking in I was surprised at how spacious and upscale the place felt. After I sat down within a few moments the incredibly friendly waitress had the drink order and food orders moving. The wings and weck was the choice of the day with the Viking sauce that I've read so much about. They were crispy and average in size. Viking sauce was a great balance of spicy and rich flavors. I wanted a side of that sauce to dip in... and with all my wing reviews I always comment on the bleu cheese... mild flavor with a healthy amount of smaller crumbles. It's a honorable mention in my yelp reviews. A piled high lunch sized roast beef was also included... a healthy amount of salt and weck on the bun and probably some best roast beef I've had in a while. It was so incredibly tender and the sandwich alone was filling. Fries were crispy and a good handful to go with the meal... I'm seriously glad I finally came here, the ridge's reputation on yelp definitely is well deserved. Can't wait to come back. read more

Came for an event so I can only review the beer tap area. They have the pour your own set up where you pay by the ounce. As someone that likes trying different beers I love these. Started out with the Burnt ends poutine, good amount of fries, big chunks of fried cheese nuggets, fair amount of burnt end and smothered with gravy, delicious! Then I had the Reuben good amount of braised corned beef, sauerkraut , Swiss cheese on marble rye, very delicious! The wife had a burger with avacodo, it was delicious but a big messy! Both had fries, they were heavily salted but good . We had to have more beers ( I guess that's the point) the prices are average . the service was very slow, the time wasn't the issue it was the slow waitress. It was not busy on a Wednesday. Came here before heading to Spinners. It was PACKED and I'm not sure if that is their normal Saturday crowd or if it was due to the Kentucky Derby being on. We were still able to be seated though; it's a pretty big place. I asked for a sweet alcoholic beverage and the waitress was thinking ... I asked if she had something with blue Caracao as most of those drinks are sweet. Unfortunately, it was very sour. It did have sour in it but I was thinking it would have a balance to it but it was just sour. So I personally wouldn't come for drinks .. better for someone who likes "real" drinks versus me who needs sugar to mask the flavor lol Everyone enjoyed their food and we all ordered very different items. I got the pretzel sticks ( there's everything, salted, or you can get unsalted like me). It comes with a side of queso and honey mustard. We accidentally came here on a Saturday morning thinking they had brunch - it's only on Sundays! Lol. Our mistake. Anyways it was good, I got a pizza and Matt got a burger. I really wanted the breakfast pizza but I had to get the vodka pizza with sausage. It was pretty good. We had delicious - very strong - bloodies because it was brunch time. Not a first time visitor. Have been here before and loved it. Tonight's visit was just ok. Waitress was just so/so. Not too pleasant. Started with the pretzels for an app. I forgot to take a pic but they are delicious. But the cheese and honey mustard are amazing. Both sandwich entrees were just ok. I do highly recommend getting the chips with the homemade French onion dip. The chicken wings were very overcooked. I have had a variety of experiences at The Ridge over the past few years, but I'm basing this review on my most recent trip as I heard they've had some new management within the restaurant. I came with my book club, which was a group of seven. Despite the large group we didn't have an issue getting a table and were seated in the main dining room. The acoustics of the space it can sometimes make it very difficult to hear, but they also have options for outdoor seating in good weather. Our server was Irma, who did an excellent job and even accommodated what I assume was a very annoying request for separate checks. Food in the past has been hit or miss, but everyone enjoyed their meals this time around. One person even said the Cesar salad was the best they've ever had! After some lackluster experiences in the past I'm glad things have made a turn for the better. read more

I came here for a craft night and really enjoyed this spot! I had never been before, and I believe it is newer. They have a restaurant side and a brewery side. In the brewery they have a wall of taps where you can get a card and pour your own. They have a bunch of different options, I went with a Resurgence Sour Claus which was delicious. The first time we went it was great. We were there during lunch hours, the food was good, and our waitress was attentive and accommodating. The second time we were there, for our anniversary, the food was not that great, our waitress was not very on point- not rude, but not really caring either, and I ordered a cocktail (blue crush) that I swear was devoid of alcohol. $12 for 3 blueberries and ginger ale is what it tasted like to me. I drink rarely, so for $12 I expected at least a shot in there- which I definitely would have felt. Was pretty disappointed overall. I guess I would suggest to go during times when it's not busy- even though it really wasn't when we were there last, but it was a Friday; maybe no one really wanted to work that day? This wasn't our first visit, but haven't been here in a while. To be honest, the food or service never disappoints. We usually get table on the restaurant-side, overall it's a very nice place. We always get a friendly server, everything we ordered has been delicious, every time we've been here. My only dislike (took off one star, but certainly not enough to keep us away,) is that it's very loud. If you're looking for a quiet, intimate dinner, this is not the place for you. First time eating at the ridge. The food was mostly good. I tried the cheeseburger soup which was a bit too thick for my preference and didn't really taste all that great. However I would definitely recommend the beef stir fry and their fries were so seasoned and good. The waitress was really nice and was pretty attentive considering how busy it was. We shared The Rustler. Good thing as it is a very nice sized burger, topped with fried jalapeños, two thick slices of bacon, cheddar,BBQ sauce, tobacco onions and sriracha aioli. This delicious burger is served with a huge pile of fries( there are other side options, like chips or macaroni salad) and a dipping sauce. We picked sriracha dipping sauce. cannot even say how disappointed took my son to lunch there, they us outside, but it took 10 minutes to get them to come over to ask us like to drink then it took 10 more minutes for them to come back with them then it took 10 more minutes for them to take our order and then it took 15 minutes for our food to arrive by the time we got our food we were both aggravated and to top it off. His food wasn't prepared the way he asked for so he just wanted to leave. It will be a long time before I go back and spend my money or the manager goes well.
