Whenever we're in Kauai, this is always one of our must-stop spots for pie. On this visit, we arrived just before closing after spending the afternoon at Salt Pond Beach. We picked up a whole Island Lemon Pie to take with us (forgot to get a photo). I got myself a slice of the Macadamia Nut Pie to go, which was delicious, especially with vanilla bean ice cream. The Right Slice in Kalaheo, Kauai got the freshest most delicious pies, you will ever find on Kauai, best to call it in since it takes about 35 mins for a hot pot pie. The last time I had a pot pie was at a KFC Irvine, CA & it doesn't compare to this. The pot pie here is so good, tasty and savory, it is Fire!! The hot pot pie comes in meat with over 10+ varieties, inluding vegetarian and Gluten Free. Besides the chicken pot pie, we enjoyed a slice of macadamia sweet pie, it was so hard to decide on what flavors since they all sound so good! This is probably the best pie I have ever tasted! It was just the right sweetness and very flavorful. Both the macadamia nut and lilikoi cheesecake were amazing! We wish we had gone here again during our stay. We almost debated taking a frozen pie and flying all the way home with it! I fully admit I stopped here after driving past it over and over strictly on the name - sound logic! We all tried various flavors and all were winners. My personal favorite was the macadamia nut pie - when handed to me the gal at the counter said, "I bet you like pecan pie." How'd you know? This is sensational, so much so you'll start wondering why it's not on menus in the mainland. And to that point - the slices are expensive here, for sure...but the quality covers that cost. If you have the time, look around the other stuff for sale, and you'll undoubtedly see something that would make a great gift for someone or yourself. I have to stop into The Right Slice every time I am visit Kauai. This last visit I got a slice of the "tropical banana." I'd explain it as an apple pie with baby bananas, and cobbler like crumbles on top. It's wonderful. One of the things I appreciate the most about this shop is that the staff is so nice about questions. I hear them answering all kinds of questions for almost every customer that comes in. They answer with patience and kindness. Overall it's got a lovely interior that feels like a hometown pie shop. It has interior seating. There is parking outside in front of the shop. Are you kidding me, this is the best shop on Kauai!!!!! The woman working there could not have been more lovely, I believe her name was Aiko (sorry if I spelled wrong, we adored you), and she was sooooo patient with all our questions and decision making. There are TONS of flavors of pot pie and dessert pies, amazing local lettuce and homemade dressings for salad, edible cookie dough, mochi, souvenirs, a penny pressing machine my kids loved, lovely seating areas, you name it! The vibes are cozy, clean, and just pristine. The pies themselves were so good! We tried traditional chicken pot pie, a white chicken chili pie, and five of the dessert pies. Each of us had a different favorite, from macadamia nut (omg it's like pecan pie but Mac nuts and insane), lilikoi cheesecake, coconut cream (of course), blueberry piña colada with the most insane topping), and a mango one that was sooooo fresh. For the savory pies, you either need to give them an hour to bake from frozen or in our case we took them back to our suite at Koloa Landing and baked them ourselves. It appears you can just call ahead if you don't have an oven. Now, a special ode to the GLUTEN FREE OPTIONS! Our son has celiac and it is a constant battle to feed your kid on vacation and for them to not feel excluded. They have MULTIPLE GF options, sweet and savory. I asked about their preparation and they make the GF items first in a clean kitchen, then move on to their other menu items. I just was blown away and cannot wait to return. We've wanted to stop by The Right Slice before, and this time we finally made it a point -- I'm glad we did. It's a cute little pie shop with both sweet and savory pies, plus some fun local merchandise. The woman working the counter was super nice and helped us with recommendations. We tried the Macadamia Nut Pie and the Mango Lilikoi Pie, and both were excellent. I usually shy away from desserts since they can be overly sweet, but these were perfectly balanced and absolutely delicious. If I could give this place more than 5 stars I would! From their amazing customer service to amazing tasting pies this place is for sure a must have while in Kaua'i ! We had it last year when visiting and were so very excited to have it again and it was so worth the return! It's off a busy road but there is parking store front and across the street. I did call ahead to order a mini lilikoi cheesecakes and they were super helpful taking my order and sending me a link for me to pay online through a secured site! We came in right when they opened and I'm so glad we did. This mom and pops shop gives off cozy vibes as you walk in. Like you just walked into your mom's house and has something warm in the oven for you. Their pie selections are superb. I loved the lilikoi flavor so much. It was so refreshing. I wish we'd had time to come back and order so many more. The macadamia nut was as cliche as it sounds very nutty flavor, rich and bursting with flavor. The blueberry Pina colada was a must as well. Well well well, what a strangely charming spot to stumble upon! We were heading towards Hanapepe town, and we had to come stop here. Eccentric decor, small-town vibes, and an incredible pie selection? Count me in! We came up to order, and the lady behind the counter was sweet and helped us right away. While we were waiting on her to grab our slices, we got to looking around the shop. There's lots of local art/crafts for sale, and they even have a penny press! Love that! So quirky! We got our pies; I ordered a lilikoi cheesecake, and my friend ordered a mac nut pie (a la pecan pie). Turns out we made some great choices, though I'm not sure you could go wrong! Parking in front of the store is limited and may be hard to get out as you have to back out into the street, but it wasn't bad. There were so many pie flavors. We got the Macadamia Nut and the Blueberry Pina Colada. Omg, the blueberry pina colada pie is TO DIE FOR. I wish I could go back and just buy frozen boxes and bring it back to California because this was so fragrant and well done. So happy I got to try some of the yummy desserts from this cute shop in Kaua'i! I wish I came here sooner or got to try the other unique flavors they have. I went in to try Lilikoi cheesecake and also got a coconut cream pie. The coconut cream pie filling was like a light pudding and had a sweet, creamy, coconut flavor, as well as coconut shavings. The pie crust was a little flakey and held together well. With so much fresh coconut on the island, you have to give it a try. Our shuttle driver to the Nā Pali coast raved about lilikoi cheesecake and mentioned it was so good his wife doesn't even allow it in the house anymore lol! I really loved the tart, citrus flavor of the lilikoi and how it gave balance to the sweetness of the cheesecake. I'd love to come back to this cute shop the next time I'm in town. Wanted to have lilikoi pie while on Kauai and saw the sign for this cute little shop located on Kaumuali'i Hwy in Kalaheo near Brick Oven Pizza . They serve both sweet and savory pies. The lime pie filling was PERFECT in tartness, sweetness, and texture (reminded me of my grandma's specialty pie.) Crust not as much. It was hard to cut with a fork so ended up breaking it off and biting it.. The mango lilikoi pie was also broke da mouth! Best find in Kauai! Absolutely delicious pies - my family loved the macadamia nut pie (like pecan pie, but better) and the lillikoi cheesecake, we also liked mocha lava brownie pie. They have a huge variety of other pies available by the slice (can add whipped cream or vanilla ice cream) or whole "baby" pies (normal pie size), which can be fresh or frozen to bring home, and any pie slice can be made into an amazing pie shake (way better than Sonic's pie shakes, which are already delicious), as well as edible cookie dough, lillikoi bars, savory pies, and more. Since our first trip to the island several years ago, I've been wanting to stop at The Right Slice each time we made our way towards the west side. I knew of the place and bookmarked it but we didnt get to stop in, until this past Summer. Located in the middle of Kalaheo on Kaumualii Highway across from the fire station and community center. We went one week day after lunch and were greeted warmly by a nice lady. She explained how some pies are available by the slice, whole and frozen whole. There are also savory pies. There are a multitude of choices in each category. There are a few 2-person and 4-person tables. There are also stools by the front windows so you can have your slices while looking out on to the highway. There are a few parking spaces out front and some more across the street. We chose a slice of mango lilikoi. It was real good. Tender and large slices of sweet mango. Not cut too thick but not thin either. The combination of lilikoi and mango flavors was great. I liked it a lot... I wish we were able to try more slices but we were just heading out to the west side at that point. Macadamia nut and chocolate coconut macaroon sounded so good. The lilikoi cheesecake did too... So many flavors, not enough time. We vow to come back each trip from here on out. I will for sure sample more slices.
