I wish we knew ahead and ordered custom bites because the slices we had were absolutely amazing but we only got three to try and I wanna try them allllll!!! We got blueberry pina colada, macadamia nut, and mango lilikoi and all were delicious, leaving us craving more. The storefront is super cute though parking out front is a little hard and off of the big highway, but they were so nice and helpful and it just was such a slice of heaven inside, the pies too!! Amazing little pies (6) in bite sizes, to enjoy on the run! They were just enough for me and my husband to share! And getting to sample 6 different pies all at once is my idea of a good deal! We happened to pass this little store in Kalaheo on the main street on the way to Waimea Canyon and had to stop! We're so happy that we did! The bite sized pies come in a 3-pack or 6-pack. We tried the 6-pack, which afforded us the opportunity to try 6 different pies: lilikoi cheesecake, mac nut, mango, apple banana, blueberry and chocolate. There were much better names and descriptions for each pie, but I can't remember what they were, we ate the little pies so fast! You can order whole pies or buy it by the slice, your choice. Friendly staff welcome you and are very helpful with descriptions of each kind of pie. There are also savory pies, though we didn't have time to try them; hopefully on our next trip! Great quick treat! We ordered 5 slices (Mac nut, mango, lilikoi cheesecake, coconut cream, and lime) amongst 4 people. The place was authentic and genuine. In addition to the slices you can also buy whole sweet and savory pies. There also are a few other retail and artisan merchandise items for sale in the shop that we didn't see anywhere else on the island. Definitely stop here! read more

The coconut cream pie is fantastic. We drive from the north shore at least twice every time we visit. Treat yourself!

Tourist trap charged us $2.25 to cut up the 2 piece into 6 slices they did not have a plastic knife you can use to cut it up yourself. Each pie was $30 for a total of $60 plus tax. Honestly I have tasted better pies at Whole Foods all they have is just fancy names with a big price tags. read more

The Right Slice (aka The Pie Lady!) is amazing. Her fruit pies are delicious. She has the knack of using the fruit for more of the sweetness and doesn't overload the sugar. The chicken pot pies are amazing. Her stock is so good and the chicken is always tender. The vegetables vary and are beautiful within the pie crust. This is a must try on the Island! After a long day of hiking in Waimea, we decided to stop for a treat. The banana cream is fabulous! We also purchased a chicken pot pie and Shepard's pie to take and bake in our condo. It hit the spot and was delicious. We will now put this on our must stop when visiting Kauai! Place is super cute and love it they have meat pies too. There was a older Filipino lady that was extremely rude and gave 3/10 service. First of all, I tried calling numerous times with no one answering the phone. I called about 5 times. Finally ended up getting through and the lady sounded like I was being a burden to her. I politely asked what vegetarian options they had. The woman raced through the choices and then hung up on me. I tried the mango lilikoi pit, lilikoi cheesecake, mac nut pie, and chocolate macaroon pie. Everything was delicious and I was surprised that the lilikoi mango was my favorite. Service was friendly--she even warmed up the chocolate pie, which took it to another level. The dining area was clean and well stocked. I feel wrong reviewing any place during the COVID-19 pandemic, but in this case it just feels so riiiiggghhht. Get it? I couldn't help myself. The Right Slice has frequently been recognized for excellence and believe me - it is so well-deserved. I'm basing this review on the fact that I ate my coconut cream pie straight out of the pan. No class. No apologies. I stalked them until they opened. The owner is running things on her own and doing what she can to keep the doors open, so support her. Check the hours before you go because she could be at a farm to pick up supplies or at Costco to get boxes. We found this out by talking with her. So, right now, a lot of what she has is frozen for baking at home. She has personal/small pies and your standard 9-inch. For me, the 9-inch was very personal and I'm not ashamed to say that I could have easily finished that myself. What she has in stock is going to vary by day - frankly, it's going to vary by hour. We bought her last cooked, ready-to-eat pie, as well as a banana, apple, chicken pot pie, macadamia nut pie, and beef wellington. The fresh pie was a coconut cream. We thought we got the wrong pie because it doesn't have all of that whipped cream on top. When we asked if it was right, the owner replied, "Yes, I've found that people only want the creamy coconut filling instead of all that whip - so, I make what people want." It is BRILLIANT. I dislike all that extra whipped cream on top of pies. That coconut was creamy, dreamy, and the right choice. Her crust is tasty, with a hint of salt to set-off the sweetness of the filling. We were traveling and she even has insulated bags for sale! She loaded us up and even though there were a few people behind us, she still chatted with me about all of the pie companies that I like. This woman knows her pie. If something happens to my girlfriend, I wouldn't mind making another love connection with one of those pies, just saying. read more

There are a lot of tastes and flavors that are not readily available in the islands. It's hard if you eat an amazing dish and know you won't be able to have it again....at least for a while. So I was pleasantly surprised to find The Right Slice.......doing it 'Right'. It is so hard to find good savory pies in Hawaii and I surely didn't expect to find it on Kauai. They had chicken pot pies available, and also shepard's pie! Yum! I was quick to place an order for both, as well as a Mango lillikoi pie. I was told that it would take a little while (usually about an hour), but the lady she could do it faster, closer to 45 minutes, which was nice. I drove over to pick up the pies, and the smell coming from this small establishment...was amazing. Inside there is a display case that was filled with goodness. Fortunately I had already chosen my pies, so I didn't have to make a choice....whew! I told the lady my order and she quickly pulled it out of the oven and packed it for me. I was told that they also make pies that you can take home and reheat later....brilliant! When I got to dig in to the pies, they were tasty! The shepard's pie had a soft mashed potato topping and a nice meaty inside that was delicate in flavor, but the real star was the chicken pot pie. Full of vegetables and meat, the seasoning was perfect. The mango lillikoi pie was also very good. The focus was on the fruit inside, without a ton of sugar. You could really taste the tartness, and the pie was not too sweet, which was great. The best part of all the pies was the crust. Super crisp and full of buttery flavor, the crust on all three types of pies was perfect. I think it is extra hard to do pastry in Hawaii because of the ever changing humidity......but I could eat this crust just by itself! Know that I have issues with chicken pot pies because a lot of people don't crust the bottom. They put a soup/stew like mixture on the bottom and then throw it in the oven for a few minutes with a sort of pastry top.....THAT'S NOT A CHICKEN POT PIE!!! A chicken pot pie has a nice crispy shell of dough on the bottom, as well as on top......as it's done here, at The Right Slice. So good....place your orders now! read more

This might have been some of the worst pie I've had in a while. The crust was wet and non-existent the bananas were huge and soggy and the filling was starchy and thick. The other slice we got was dry and hard. I ordered a boba and couldn't have been more disappointed. The worst and I mean the worst boba I have ever had. It was starchy and overly sweet and so artificial I couldn't tell what the flavor was supposed to be. The boba was soggy and over cooked. I am not one for returning a drink but it was so bad I couldn't even pretend to like it. Don't get the boba; I repeat if you're a boba lover do not disappoint yourself with this place it was really expensive and a total waste. I do NOT RECOMMEND eating at this "pie shop". I love pies, because who doesn't?! So when I saw this company, I knew I had to try it. What I didn't know is that this is actually a vending machine shop, but for pie, no matter! The concept is pretty cool. Being able to buy a pie from a vending machine like that is a very novel idea and I applaud them for the concept. The machines look almost proprietary - I've never seen anything like it. They say you can't put a price on love, and I love pie - but I can also definitely put a price on it. One slice of macadamia nut pie (approx. 6 in. radius pie) cost $6.75 which I find incredibly expensive because it's so small. I know they advertise using local ingredients and everything, but what?! I think I might have also paid a large part for the experience of using a pie vending machine. The pie was a little too sweet. The crust was still was very good, so that was the obvious star of the show. I wish they had a coconut cream pie available, but they did not seem to carry many of those at all, and the one they did have left was not whole, so I chose something else. I like the concept of self serve pie, but pies are probably better if you pick them up in person. I'd want to give the actual shop a visit instead. read more
