My guy and I shared the blueberry pina colada (based on reviews here) and the lilikoi cheesecake. The blueberry pina colada was AMAZING, the reviews were well worth it - no flavor overpowered the other, it wasn't too sweet, and the toasted coconut added a nice texture. Cute pie shop with a huge variety of flavors from sweet to savory. Their savory options sounded really interesting and I'd love to go back to try one. As for the sweet, they have a selection of whole pies as well as slices for sale on a walk in basis. Go with blueberry pina colada (sorry, no alcohol!), mango lilikoi, macadamia nut, chocolate coconut macarron, island lemon, OMG. There are SO many. The crust is super buttery and irresistible in taste. This is the bakery that could, since the opening in 2009, they've come up with more than 50+ flavors. My favorite was the mango lilikoi. This tropical sensation has plump mango bits with just the right amount of passionfruit topped with a sugar crust. However, don't discount their savory pies! I'm partial to more savory than sweet flavors and I absolutely LOVE their Shepherd's pie. This 6 inch beauty is stuffed with local grass fed beef, carrots, onions, peas, corn with garlic mashed potatoes. I opted for the take and bake since we had a kitchenette in our hotel and was able to cook this for 30 minutes without a hitch and the golden crust came out perfectly. The only downside? it disappeared within minutes! :-0 Our crew from Captain Andy's sailing adventures highly recommended The Right Slice and I'm so glad we made time to check it out. I must say that my whole family and I, absolutely enjoy the pies! They are all very delicious and my uncle has always brought them back from Kaua'i for us while traveling there for work. Recently, my entire immediate family took a trip from Oahu to Kaua'i to stay in Waipouli. 3 days before we flew back to Oahu, we made sure we made it a priority to go to The Right Slice to purchase as much pies as possible to bring back to Honolulu. We also had a vacation rental with 2 freezers which made it very convenient to store. When we arrived to The Right Slice, there were 2 women working at the counter with no one else inside dinning. There was a nice young lady who was very much helpful and may have been new to the company as she took our large order with no hesitation and nothing but a smile. However, the not so pleasant, local Filipino woman who was also there, turned around and told us that your order is too large, we don't have all those pies you are asking for. Not to mention that we had already put in 2 orders (1 order for my mom/family and 1 order for myself/bf's family). I kindly asked if the order was too large for my specific order or for both of our orders?) She stated that there wasn't enough for my order alone (with an attitude) both my mom, my bf, and my brother in law looked at me like okay!? Why not politely say, we are sorry, there is not enough pies at this time but you could put in an order and pick them up at a later date?! Anyway, we kindly asked if we could maybe put an order in so we could pick it up prior to leaving the island? She then spoke/looked at us as if it was an inconvenience for her. Idk if she is the only person who needs to prepare the pies, but we were all quite offended and felt like a burden to the company. Anyways, she took our order and we thanked her even though her attitude was absurd. A few days later, on our way to the airport, we drove about 20 miles and we finally got the the place, the same local lady was the only person working the counter that day and we asked her if we could pick up our order. While she was packing our pies, i asked if my mom and bf could use their restroom as we tried looking for other restrooms with no luck and they really needed to go. She legit told us nope and you need to go across the street to the gym in Kalaheo. My mom advised her that she tried to go there the last time we were here to order the pies but they close at a certain time. The lady again looked at us again like we were an inconvenience and told us nope. Although we absolutely love the pies, we will no longer feel welcomed there, until that lady is no longer standing at that front counter. I wish I had gotten her name but I am sure someone else must have experience meeting her. It's just so sad that we are local, and even at that, we were not good enough to receive service with aloha. FYI: We all work in retail and or client service. It's such a shame. I always believed that if you are not happy where you are, don't make customers/clients feel a burden to the business you are serving for. read more

Wouldn't have written this review if it weren't elicited by the clerk... We used a Yelp deal (a certain percent off for your visit) to buy the pies. The clerk verified my wife's check in and just had to push a button to activate the discount. After we paid but before we left the store, my wife decided she wanted to buy some merch as well. I asked the clerk to apply the discount to the new transaction, but she refused even though it was still the same visit and could easily have been done with a press of a button...I guess she wanted another check in on my account...which she got...along with this review. Don't know what the hype is from all the Best of Hawaii but someone in the kitchen still needs to learn the art of pie making. Oh my gosh. This place is just phenomenal--this is a must-visit if you're in Kauai. I stumbled upon The Right Slice team at the Kauai Culinary Market in Poipu, and I was instantly drawn to the lilikoi desserts. After much deliberation, I went with the lilikoi cheesecake. I bought the gluten free mango pie. I don't even know what this pie was supposed to taste like. The crust had no taste and the filling wasn't sweet. I was so sad. The only reason we drove out was because it had gluten free choices. $115 later on one gluten free baby pie and two regular baby pies--I am just very very bummed. I hardly ever leave reviews but I want to look out for my fellow gluten free friends. Be careful. This wasn't good. Cost like 45$ and went in the garbage. I finally got to try this place. I have been wanting to try this place for years as I have heard great reviews. The only thing we picked up were some slices of pie to go. We didn't get to try a hot savory pie as they take 35-40 minutes to cook and an 1 hour for the frozen ones. So heads up if you plan on going. Call ahead of time so when you show up they are done by the time you get there. First parking is a pain. There is three spots in front of the shop right off the busy road. There is no parking lot close by to park and walk. Second the price for a slice of pie was a little outrageous. I was shocked at the price for 2 slices of pie. And I wasn't super impressed with the flavors we got. There were other flavors I wanted to try but were not available by the slice, they were only available to buy the whole pie . That was a little disappointing since it's a pie shop. I would give this place a second chance so I can try a savory pie. Now that I know to call ahead of time so it's ready when I get there. This place is the right slice alright! The pie were unique and they tasted great. Sweets pie are ready and you can eat in the store. Savory pie, there are a selection that are available but it can take up to 30 min to bake so if you are going to eat in make sure that you plan for plenty of time. My brothers and I drove an hour out of the way to pick up two lilikoi cheesecakes and a coconut cream pie from this shop. At first, I thought my brothers were being a little crazy. The ranted and raved about how this shop had the best cheesecake they've ever had. We even called while on our way to prepay for our dessert to ensure the staff would be able to reserve our order. Once we arrived at the shop, I was in awe of their amazing selection. It turns out - my brothers were right! We got the last two lilikoi cheesecakes! Do not miss! Maui has Leoda's and Kauai has the Right Slice. Our first visit was in 2015 when I searched for a pie place while staying in Poipu. I had a slice of the mango lilikoi and fell in love. I loved it so much I ended up bringing a whole pie to our flight home. Fast forward to 2020. we prayed they remained open during the pandemic when we returned to Kauai. Hours are limited but the products are still the same. Delicious. We went twice during our visit. One right when we landed to eat the pies throughout our stay. After sightseeing at Waimea Canyon, we stopped by The Right Slice for some pie on the way back to our hotel in Koloa. It's right off the main road and there were only a few parking spots available right in front. My husband and I shared 3 slices: one for each of us, and one for the baby in my belly :) We tried: mango lilikoi/passionfruit (with whole chunks of fresh fruit baked in), macadamia nut, and blueberry piña colada. Each one was unique and delicious. Recommend getting a scoop of vanilla ice cream to go with the macadamia nut pie. Small slices and pricey, as with all Kaua'i establishments, but some of the best pies I've had. They also have savory pies and cheesecakes. You can also find them at the Farmer's Market at the Kukui'ula Shops in Koloa on Weds afternoons. read more

This place was SOOOOO expensive. $5 for 2 baby pies that are smaller then a quarter. They are ranked best in Kauai because I'm pretty sure they are the only pie shop on the island. Was it good? The lime pie was delicious but the smallest pie slice ever. Especially for the price! The baby pies were a big waste. Just mostly crust. You can't sample all the pies. They will only cut the glass dishes. The flavors that we really wanted were not in the glass dishes so we settled for the lime and it was good. We stopped here the same day we arrived on this island paradise, having been to the older location several years ago, I was looking forward to seeing how this place has expanded. Same friendly service, same unique flavors and fresh ingredients. I have yet to find a bakery elsewhere that captures these delicious tropical flavors so beautifully. There are so many choices, I was thrilled to see two of my favorite fruits combined into a pie, the mango lilikoi. Amazing is all I can say!
