Very nice out of the way place with very good food and a relaxed atmosphere. We decided to try it out after seeing it on Open Table. Our waitress Kendall was wonderful, being very helpful in making our decisions of drinks and dinner. Good GF options (my wife) and a good selection of liquors at the bar (including a small but solid selection of bourbons). The food was very tasty, but I found my pot roast a bit lacking in quantity. My wife's filet was a nice cut and done perfectly, thanks to Kendall's suggestion, and my m-i-l had the crab cakes and found them delicious. The ambience is relaxing and nice, but I do suggest they get better seats - hard wood is not the most comfortable selection at such a nice restaurant. I really have no complaints about this spot. It's next door to the Comfort Inn in Connellsville where I was spending the night before heading to an early morning tour of Fallingwater. When I asked the hotel clerk where she recommended I could get dinner, she pointed to this place. Rebel that I was, I didn't follow her advice and went instead to a middling sushi spot further down the street. On the bitterly cold walk back to the hotel, I decided to stop in. Sitting at the cocktail bar, the place was quite crowded, and unfortunately they were counting down to their trivia night. Even though I was an undefeated Silver Screen Trivial Pursuit champion in my youth, I took a pass on the contest. Instead I had the $11 Espresso Martini, a mix of vodka, coffee liqueur, and cold brew in a can (Photo 6). It was basically what I wanted for a nightcap. As I took my last gulp, the trivia started. Back to the hotel for me. The Rivers Edge Restaurant is a newly opened restaurant build on the West bank of the Youghioghney River, in Connellsville Pa. I went with a party of four the other evening. Although we didn't have a reservation we were seated immediately, the server was very attentive and friendly. I had the grilled Cajun Maui sandwich, my wife had the Bruschetta chicken, another member of the group had the Reuben, all the food was delicious. My only complaint is the tables were a little close to each other, which made it difficult to carry on a conversation. They do have a deck out the back over the river, which I imagine would be a great place to have a meal when the weather is a little better. Give it a try. read more

The food was classically American. A little pricey, but good portion sizes. Got nachos, a burger, salad, and fries for the table. All were good and made well. The service was overtaxed--not enough staff on the floor--so we didn't see our server very often and ended up going without water and a napkin that we needed. That also explains why there were so many open tables but a significant wait too. read more

This was a recommendation from a friend so I knew from the get go it would be so good. The staff was super friendly when we arrived and sat us quickly(had a reservation which is recommended). Huge bar, lots of tables outside with a nice view of the river. Even had tv's out there. Food was delicious, we had salmon with roasted veggies and grains and the bourbon maple pot roast with mashed potatoes. Few things we weren't a fan of was the ranch dressing for the salad. It was super peppery and the prickly pear margarita (which I was hoping would be on the sweeter side) was pretty sour and I would've like sugar rum instead of salt. All in all I would definitely go back. It's on the pricier side without breaking the bank. read more

With a large party of 8 with reservations, we ended up with a corner spot with no view of the beautiful outdoors. The chopped salad was delicious along with the Diablo pasta dish. Unfortunately, the wedding soup was salty and had too much vinegar. The bourbon gravy sounded better than it tasted. There's definitely room for improvement with the food and hope that will happen! We'd like to return when we can sit outdoors and enjoy the view. read more

I've been here twice and ordered pasta both times absolutely phenomenal. The dishes come out looking professional and taste just as amazing. A little on the pricey side, but worth it for the quality. Plus, the view is great and they even have heaters for the outdoor seating. read more

We were there for my granddaughter's birthday party..12/30/25.. Hostess n server were good.. Chef was terrible.. There was nobody in the restaurant.. Over a period of twenty minutes, we received sandwiches and pasta dinners.. My sandwich arrived ten minutes after the last pasta dinner.. Cold and soggy.. I hate to see what this chef would do on a busy night.. Definitely do not recommend this restaurant.. read more

I'm here for bar trivia on Thursday nights. We like the trivia host so that's why we come here. Not many beer selections, but that's OK. Bartenders are friendly. The couple of food items that I have tried were fine. But there's a problem. I was there on two consecutive Thursdays and there is NO SOAP in the men's restroom. That means that male employees cannot wash their hands. If that issue isn't resolved, I won't go back. read more

Made a reservation for 7:15 were seated at 7:30. Ordered and received drinks within 10 minutes of seating. Was told at 8:15 that they had no grains ( rice) for my grain bowl. How does a restaurant run out of rice?!? But not tell the customer until the other items for their meal are cooked and make us wait 45 minutes. In my book that is just unexceptionable. We stopped in to the Rivers Edge last week. Both of us got the rotisserie avocado salad. It's a great salad full of chicken and the dressing is amazing. Service was fast and location is very cool. It's located next to the river. Lots of outside and indoor seating. We only tried here once but plan on going again very soon. read more

We both had the crab cakes. Very good. They let us change up the sides. Beautiful day to eat outside on the deck. Service was excellent. Some suggestions...bring back the tuna addition for salads or entrees, add another white fish and consider having a daily or weekly special. All in all, an enjoyable experience. read more
