Yummy food. Get the aguachili! Nachos were good too.

They actually have amazing food for a rooftop pool/bar. Everything I had was delicious! My favorite is the agua chili (shrimp ceviche) and the chicken sandwich! So, so good! They lightly cook the shrimp in the agua chili and I don't like my seafood raw. I ordered this dish every day and I started requesting for the shrimp to be cooked and they accommodated me no problem. They honestly will accommodate you for almost anything! If they can do it, they will do it. The service is simply amazing. They continuously come around asking if you need anything. One morning, we came up early to reserve our seats and they told us they will hold them for us til we were ready to come back. We came back an hour later and they were all set up with towels ready for us. It was so nice. The infinity pool is beautiful. Totally recommend the food here. If you have all inclusive, try everything!

Mushy veggie burger with celery and carrot as the side.

Great service, not so great food. Hotel Mousai advertises vegetarian food as one of its specialties but sadly, the veg food is its biggest weakness. My husband and i were eager to try the vegetarian menu here and some of it was barely edible. The veggie burger was mushy over salted yet unflavored TVP on a poppy seed/sesame seed bun served with carrot and celery on the side. Rabbit food and I doubt the chef has actually tried it because if he did, he wouldn't be proud of serving it. I couldn't finish it, the burger smelled like dog food. I ate half and had to add lots of guacamole to make it edible. Good drinks and nice service though. Go elsewhere for plant based or vegan food, this is not the place.

The breakfast buffet is unbelievable. If you can dream it, they have it. Not only do they have panoramic views of the beach, they also have every type of food imaginable. They had the cutest kids station with fruit kabobs, pastries, cereals, and more...they also had an omelette station, crepes made from scratch, 3 types of fresh squeezed juices, pastries, a yogurt station and so so much more! They have a pancake or waffle bar each day with various toppings. They also have potatoes of the day and they're always delicious. If you're wanting some bread, cheese and jam, they have that too! The service is fantastic too! All the servers, hostesses and bartenders were very attentive and accommodating! I'm going to miss this place!

We'd booked this as our first night dinner at the resort but we arrived on Halloween and were informed when we arrived for our reservation that the concierge attempted to call us and couldn't reach us. Apparently, the restaurant wasn't serving it's normal menu and instead offering a special holiday buffet. Not a huge deal but not the Mexican meal we'd been anticipating. Instead, I ended up with a couple types of pasta, papa duquesas (a mashed potato bite that was amazing), steak in a garlic sauce and fish in a chipotle sauce. There was also an assortment of Halloween inspired desserts and some special themed entertainment. We were only at the resort for 5 nights so this was our one opportunity to have a Mexican dinner here because we were booked at the other restaurants on the other nights. I'm looking forward to trying it when I return in April as there are multiple things on the menu that I'm making a note of, including: tableside guac, melted cheese, fish taco, chicken enchilada, steak fajitas and possibly the catch of the day. We did go back to try the breakfast buffet later in the trip though. It was a standard assortment of breakfast food with an omelette and crepe station and some Mexican dishes. I really liked that I was able to add turkey to my omelette. The beachfront outdoor seating is incredible. You can't beat the view!

After looking up good places to go, Bar La Playa came up- and I'm sure glad it did! First, it's easy to get to if you're coming from North. Our Uber was easily able to drop us off without getting stuck in gridlock traffic that can affect certain roads of this area. Additionally, the location isn't a high-traffic area for tourists. That meant we were able to walk up and immediately find seats. Second, the service was top notch. I didn't get the bartenders name, but he was very welcoming, friendly, hospitable and spoke English. Just an overall cool dude and was glad to support his business. Third, the drinks were great. Finally, we were drinking 'real' drinks, not the watered down sugary stuff at the hotel. We were very satisfied with the taste of the drinks. Fourth, the prices are really good. Mexico has gotten expensive and this was a sigh of relief. You can have a great time here without feeling like you paid an arm and a leg. I highly-highly recommend making Bar La Playa your first stop when coming to this area. You're going to get great service, great drinks and all at a price that is reasonable and fair.
