They are very upfront that wing orders take 30 minutes so plan accordingly. I would recommend any of the dry rubs but the salt and vinegar wings are amazing. St. James has great sandwiches. Saint James Irish Pub is located in downtown Fall River with metered street parking. I was looking for a burger meal and found it here. It's located downstairs from the street level so it's dark down there with no windows but has a typical sports bar look and feel to it. I ordered the Jucy Lucy burger that comes with fries for $9. The food arrived about 10 minutes later. The burger looked small but was actually quite thick and filling. It was cheesy and very tasty and I enjoyed it. The fries were hand cut and a gorgeous dark brown. They were quite good tasting with plenty of flavor and a quality not typically seen from a bar. Finally at $9 a real deal and the table service was friendly. I like this pub. The food is very good here and it looks like a nice place to hang out. read more

Seems like a good spot to be during a patriots game. I can imagine how alive it'll be. The decor has an old neighborhood bar vibe. The space is dimly lit. I was craving wings and found this place. They have their own flavors and spices. The wings were fried nicely, crispy yet still juice. Service on this day was a bit slow but the waiter Let me know that they were behind a little. My daughter and I visited the pub while in the area because we wanted something easy and tasty for dinner that wasn't super expensive or fancy but just something that would be filling and delicious and St. James hit the spot. In a town that seems to shut down pretty early every night (maybe the locals know better where to go) we had a hard time finding things that seemed to be open however when I found St. James on Yelp it was exactly what I was looking for. It would be easy to miss since it sits in the basement but it's a super cute little place once you make your want downstairs. It wasn't crowded or busy at all so the service was fast and friendly. I had a juicy cheese burger and my daughter had chicken tenders. Again, nothing fancy but solid bar grub and exactly what we needed. The prices were very reasonable and we left full and happy. This is your classic dive bar/hole in the wall. The wings keep me coming back every time they have plenty of flavors to choose from, they're cooked always and crispy. It is a seat yourself restaurant. The waitstaff was greeted us quickly, and immediately took our drink and food order. Our drink and appetizer got to us quickly . The beers and cocktails here are cheaper than almost anywhere I have been recently. The wings here are as great as everyone says. I got the O'Neil which is in the middle of the heat range of the Buffalo sauces . It was the perfect amount of heat for me. It slightly gave me a burning sensation on my lips but it also had great flavor with the heat. The wings were also a nice size , really juicy with lots of meat. The food is good but service couldn't be worse. I've given it multiple chances over the span of years and I'm consistently aggravated by the lack of care and the attitude of the staff. Stopped going a few years ago for that reason and tried going again a couple times lately hoping for a staff turn around and the last time I left before I could even order. read more

Every time I've come here I've loved every bartender, server and bouncer. I came to celebrate my birthday and had the worst server with absolutely no sense of personality. My good friend invited me to this spot for lunch the other day. He told me that it was a "hidden jem" and that he goes all the time... Good food and drink? Your attitude towards the whole situation was childish and not needed espicially when: You quieted right down when "other" patrons came in...and There was another party celebrating a birthday right across from us with a party favor of thiers as well but they weren't addressed at all... Saved us after arriving very late from a long 10 hour drive and a wild goose chase, following bad tips from closing restaurants back and forth around an impossible crazy highway in the middle of Fall River. Very sweet hostess took care of us, taking our order on the phone promising to have it ready for us when we arrived. The place has a typical Irish pub vibe, happy crowd, a bit noisy for us but acceptable. The food quality surprised us for the better: juicy burgers , bun was not soggy, and the best of all were the hand cut fresh of the fryer Chips (fries for Americans ), served with malt vinegar or ketchup. We went there on Saint Patty's day. Looking at the reviews and the menu before hand, I was craving a burger. When we arrived we found out we had two options - corned beef sandwiches or corned beef dinner. Usually, I would have been upset but I was so hungry this just made choosing that much easier. We decided on 2 sandwiches. The fries stole the show for me, but that was just the mood I was in. My 14 month old, LOVED the corned beef! STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS PLACE. First off no menus, you have to scan a code. Take the extra time to provide menus for your customers don't make people work to see what you offer. Secondly, I wanted wings to go, a dozen, you cannot order them like that you have to order by the pound, huh? Third there is a big sign outside the kitchen stating "wings will be at least 30 minutes maybe more" didn't the place was empty. I was visiting Fall River with some friends and got the crispy grilled cheese. First, it was amazing! I loved it. However, the fries were stale and kind of soggy. My friends ordered a Lucy burger and it had a really bad odor. From what they said it tasted as bad and they couldn't eat it. When I inquired about it, the server had an attitude and wouldn't explain why they charged us for that. When I asked another server, she didn't know either so she asked mine. I was really surprised that not only were the chicken wings actually delicious, with actual meat on them vs being entirely all breading and dry. But this place also asked if I wanted Bleu cheese! That was the selling point. I will say my husband had the Lemmon pepper dry rub, and that was not a good choice flavor wise but that is subjective. My GF and I arrived at Saint James Irish Pub after a terrible dining experience in Providence and an equally unsatisfying time at Flaunt Lounge. We were hungry, thirsty and in desperate need of service. Now for years I've envisioned Saint James Irish Pub as a last stop weekend venue. It's the place I always went to in order to cap the night. But not anymore. The all around excellence of our recent visit on Sunday night deserves a glowing review. Our bartender, Alyssa, was the picture of congeniality, attentiveness and consideration. Along with Chef Matt, she is one of Saint James' most valuable assets. Another member of staff, a woman with a southern accent was also very kind and friendly. I met only smiling faces and warm personalities from fellow patrons and staff alike. My spirit renewed with such pleasantness, I accepted the burger challenge special they were running: Ten 3 oz. patties with fries. If I managed to eat it in fewer than 20 minutes then it was free. If I took longer than 20 minutes but still finished, the price would be reduced. Either way, I'd get a free t-shirt. So, with chasers of Guinness as allies in the coming battle, I made a valiant attempt. My GF offered her advice and support. The chefs came out to see who was foolish and/or brave enough to make the attempt. Sadly, I did not succeed. I stopped about halfway through and called my brother, who is a massive Viking of a man. He has never been full. EVER. Eleven minutes later he was handed his freebies and ordered another round. For contest burgers, I can honestly say that I was impressed. I can't wait to sample Saint James' regular offerings. My point in all of this is that the staff and patrons were actively engaged with and supportive of us throughout what turned out to be a really fun time on the heels of an otherwise miserable night. They didn't look nervous when I wanted to go outside for a smoke. They weren't irritated that I called for reinforcements to complete the challenge when I fell short. I didn't have to find the bartender's eye to get another pint. I felt like an active participant for the duration of my visit. And as every good participant knows, feedback is key. So, kudos to you Saint James - you have an All-Star staff. read more

Came here late night for dinner and drinks. One of the draws of this place is that it has a kitchen open until midnight which is great for those of us who work late. This place is easy to miss but be sure you do not. You have to go downstairs to get in. The atmosphere is super casual and they for sure have some regulars. The bartender was very friendly and efficient. He made sure my drink was full at all times and checked in frequently. Being a craft beer lover there was no beer I would have liked to drink but they have plenty of other options. They had some kind of a wing deal so I decided to try a few different kinds. Good wings, terrible service. We've been to St. James several time and were always pleased with the food, but the service was always pretty slow or generally inattentive. Tonight was probably our last visit, as we ordered beers (which came pretty quick) and wings (which took a bit, but that's fine), then didn't see our server for a good 25 minutes while she chatted with people at the bar. We had finished our drinks and food and planned to order more, but changed our minds when nobody came to check on us. When our server finally came back, we told her we were all set and she rolled her eyes at us saying "Don't get weird on me, sorry" in a rude, sarcastic tone. She never came back to our table, and a different waitress brought our checks over about 15 minutes later. We wrote a note on the receipt about the service being slow, and our original waitress followed us to the entrance telling us that we weren't allowed back because we complained. St James is a hit or miss, if you are a regular there and the waitresses know you then you will get good service, if they don't then you will be waiting there for a while. Some days the food is better then others depending on who the cook is and what time you go. The owner of the bar is extremely questionable and can sometimes make girls feel uncomfortable. read more
