    Dessert for Two!
    Greg T.

My friend and I lunch here earlier today. First visit for us both. Exceptional experience: 11:45 am arrival allowed us to beat the Noon+ crowd. We sat outside adjacent to the dock. Enthralling views of the waterway and boats of all types and dimensions. We started with drinks: flavorful, eye catching, and inventive. Then to Gazpacho soup, salad, mussels, lobster, and crab cakes. Each item was remarkable for texture, flavor, and appearance. Dessert was a multi-tiered strawberry shortcake that did not disappoint! Great coffees too. Service was also memorable. Our waitress made our dining experience memorable, too. (In her spare cycles she was making drinks at the outdoor bar.) One Small Caution: Parking gets tight (shared with at least one other establishment) and the crushed seashell lot has major divots (to slow us down, I presume.) We found a spot and there's free on-street parking a short distance.

great selection for Gluten free items, breads, scallops, fried food along with great service and atmosphere

Nice restaurant in Warren by the water. Lots of parking in its private lot. We liked the food we got (I got the Swordfish and my husband got the Brioche Chicken), but for the price we paid, we felt the portions were not very generous. We were both hungry after finishing our meals to the point that when we got home we had to eat stuff from our pantry.... To me, if we are spending over $100 for 2 dishes and drinks, the least you could hope for is to be satisfied and full. That was not the case. Maybe if the restaurant makes the serving sizes a bit bigger, they would have more repeat business from satisfied customers.

Salmon Burger and house cut fries. Sorry I took a bite before the photo.

It was a delightful lunch today at Trafford Restaurant. This was our first time here. The ambience was very relaxing and inviting. The service was attentive and kind. The food was delicious. The salmon burger is delicious and the fries were tasty. I would recommend the Trafford restaurant.

Their Australian Wagyu was delicious. The edges were a pretty fatty but it was good overall.

I came here today as a second last hoorah before a major surgery tomorrow. Last night at another restaurant unfortunately went terribly so I wanted to make up for it. My visit to Trafford today with a friend really hit the spot! The hostess found our reservation and asked our preference on seating. It was a breath of fresh air and we were able to get seats right on the deck overlooking the beautiful water and scenery. We ordered some appetizers. We started with the scallops with bacon that were delicious! The corn puree and maple glaze really made the dish pop! It was an absolute MUST try! You can tell the scallops were fresh! The crab cakes were great and the corn topping on them made them even better! Normally I request extra sauce but these didn't need anything added to make them delicious! The Ahi tuna appetizer was incredibly. The temp and flavor was PERFECT! Our calamari was good but I only ordered it because the menu states that it includes rings and tentacles which is very rare to come by in Rhode Island. The sauce was good but there were absolutely no tentacles which was rather disappointing. This was my least favorite because I was really looking forward to the tentacles (my favorite part). We split a Wagyu Australian strip that was good. The edges were super fatty but it was overall good. It was cooked to temp throughout. I wouldn't say it was the best wagyu I've ever had but it was very well seasoned and great compared to a lot of other local spots that sell Wagyu. It was certainly worthy of the price though! The dish overall was great once cutting the fat off. I would probably order it again cause for a steak it had great flavor and the cooks definitely know how to season things like a champ (which is shockingly rare these days). Our server was great. My friend's drinks were perfect. I had ordered a Chandon split with a side of oj which was served with ice? But after picking the ice out I was able to make my mimosa like I prefer since ordering a mimosa never guarantees the champagne/OJ ratio for for one's preference. Overall, that's nothing to care about when she was so attentive in many ways that so many other establishment lack. You can truly tell she cares! She was above and beyond friendly and helpful and that's what matters. Both of the hostesses were wonderful and very friendly. I would 100% come back here in a heartbeat. This is my second time at this establishment. I probably won't order the calamari again but otherwise everything was delicious! I took one star off just for false advertisement when it came to the calamari. I believe that the restaurant should update their menu if the appetizer doesn't include the ingredients stated in the future. The remainder of our experience was great though. I would absolutely recommend this restaurant to friends and family going forward.

    Short rib bolognese

My husband and I tried this place for the first time for date night and it was so worth it. The restaurant is right on the water with an amazing view. Our server Megan was in training and she was very pleasant and attentive. I had the Short rib bolognese and my husband had the pecan salmon which I will get next time we go. Both dishes were delicious and the portions were great size. So glad we finally got to eat here and we'll definitely be back.

French dip with truffle Parmesan fries

What a gem of a spot, greeted by the host and taken upstairs to enjoy lunch with a lovely view. Morgan was our server and she was excellent. We enjoyed the French dip and short rib melt, sandwiches were delicious. Our truffle Parmesan fries were also great. The view was amazing and service exceptional. Can't wait to go back!

Overall our dinner was delicious! Drinks were great, we got the pear martini and grapefruit martini. Bread and butter was delicious but you pay extra for additional rolls, which is ridiculous. Our food was delicious! We got the burger and bolognese. Restaurant is super cute. We sat outside with cover and heaters which was lovely. The only thing was service was a little slow but super friendly. We recommend and will return!

The food was good but was not very happy with the appetizer. We had ordered the calamari. There were more peppers and Cherico. The drinks were great. My main course was delicious. Our waitress was very nice. The restaurant has a great view. I would definitely recommend it and go back.

    Feeling peachy

Very nice staff, was definitely the best food, and I ate it all and actually felt full! I recommend get the feeling peachy drink, with Caesar salad! With the short rib bolognese! So dang good, recommend coming here for family dinners :D

They have a daily menu, and I've had some friends suggest this place as their favorite restaurant. We parked blocks away due to the lack of adequate parking. Once we walked in, we were greeted with pleasant smiles from the staff. The menu was short, which we attributed to a focus on quality. We ordered a French onion dip and a littleneck entree as an app for the table. We were served with lukewarm water, neither cold nor hot. The apostle John might have been somewhat disappointed (Rev 3:16). The dip was decent but was somewhat lacking in great onion flavor. But nothing to complain about. The little necks were served in a small bowl and lacked a bit of salt. Rather pricey for $26, but this place charges $6 just for bread and butter, so maybe it's just inflation? Enter the entrees. They apparently were short on chicken legs so they asked to substitute chicken breast. Two of us got burgers. First the $20 burgers, which were served with an aioli with no offer of ketchup or other condiments. In short, both burgers were terrible. Far worse than we make at home. It's always a disappointment when you realize you're paying all this extra for food you can make better at home. The buns were shockingly flat, like someone smashed them by hand. Or in a McDonald's box. Come to think of it, the flavor was similar, though overall the hamburger was somewhat bitter, salty and lacked an appetizing flavor. Wow. We all agreed they were terrible. The fries were also burnt and over salted. My daughter quit on her $30 chicken, so I tried it. The sauce wasn't bad, and it was served with a decent brocollini. But the chicken was some of the driest I've had in a restaurant, with no crisp skin and a uniformly poor texture. No wonder no one finished their entrees. And I hate wasting food. So, as much as we would have wanted to give this place a great rating, we just won't be back. The service, although with a smile, was slow and terrible. Our candle burnt out in the middle of dinner. It was never relit. Our glasses were empty halfway through dinner. No refills on the tepid water. The entrees took an hour and a half before they came out (we were warned the chicken could take 30 min). Generally a very disappointing experience. Hard to explain the rave reviews but our Saturday dinner was a sad bust. The cold wet madeleines they provided in a doggie bag didn't do anything to help. Oh well. Hope y'all have a better experience if you go here.

Bywater, we will be back!…read more Warren, RI has some great restaurants and I was surprised since I don't frequent this area much. But after this past weekend, I know I want to come back. We were having a lovely dinner in Warren and stopped into Bywater for a quick after-dinner drink. It was a bit cooler out but since they had no seats in the extremely limited bar area, we took the plunge and sat outside near their fire pits. They did not have many wines to choose from BTG which was disappointing. The one I had which was Cinsault was just ok. I had to dump out most of it since I did not enjoy it but that was my fault since sampling it I thought I liked it. My friend had the bartender make her a cocktail with grapefruit since they did not have pineapple. She was looking for a French martini but seemed to enjoy what they made her. My husband's espresso martini was very good I thought and light but could've used some bailey's. We already had dessert so we did not plan on anything else but I know I am interested in returning for dinner. The restaurant is very small inside but I loved the warm lights and decor. It was a very sexy and attractive vibe! If you are ever in Warren I highly recommend coming here for either drinks, dinner, or both. Dress warm if you plan on heading outside to sit near the fire...it does not give off that much heat! Cheers!

We ordered the mini stuffies, the hummus plate, and the fried pickles. The mini stuffies were a highlight. Loaded with Mello's chouriço and packed with flavor, they're a solid little bite. My grandfather set the bar pretty high for me on stuffies, and these came close. They have a different profile than what I grew up with; a little less bready, more chouriço forward, and the clam flavor takes a back seat. Not necessarily a complaint, they were just different from what I'm used to and were genuinely tasty. The lemon aioli on top was also a nice touch. The fried pickles were exactly what you want them to be. Crispy, well fried, and the breading actually stayed put while you ate them, which is more than I can say for a lot of fried pickles. They came with the same lemon aioli as the stuffies, which worked just as well here. The hummus plate was a bit of a letdown. We've had it many times before and it used to be a standout. This time the hummus itself was thick and pretty flavorless, more like a dense chickpea paste than anything else. The accompaniments were nice though and consisted of heirloom carrots, cucumbers, olives, cherry tomatoes, asparagus, pickled cauliflower, carrot, and a pepperoncini, all served alongside some buttery round crackers that were like a Ritz cracker's more refined cousin. The veggies saved the plate, but the hummus needs to find its way back. I suppose it could have just been an off batch and won't prevent us from trying it again. Cocktails were great, as usual. I had the Anana with scotch. I love pineapple and this has muddled pineapple and basil, pineapple juice, cracked black pepper. It's my go-to here and it delivered again. My partner went adventurous and ordered the Jungle Booby, which is built around tequila blanco and mezcal with campari, pineapple, grapefruit, lime, orgeat, and an absinthe spritz. The flavors were genuinely good, but the smokiness from the mezcal was a bit much for her taste. She followed it up with a glass of rosé and had no complaints after that. The cocktail wasn't the problem, it just wasn't her style. One of our favorite spots in Warren for a quick nibble, for a good reason.

My veggie burger had burnt edges and wasn't too enjoyable flavor-wise. It didn't help my overall impression that when I got takeout here another time, they totally butchered my boyfriend's name when we ordered over the phone, and we had a hard time picking up our order because of this (how you get "Stephanie" from "Anthony," I just really don't know). A waitress came by, took our order for drinks and app. She was very nice and cheery. We hoped to get her as the waitress. So far, so good right? We were sat and our nachos came out just as we just settled in which was good. I was disappointed that expediter didn't bother to get us plates or recognize that we needed them. She left before I could say anything so I had to flag her down for them. She did get them quickly. For some reason, the waitresses were all over the back table of loud girls. It appeared they were showering them with attention going back and forth all different waitresses. The place is incredibly loud, it was tough to have a conversation with my girlfriend while we. We tried several times to make any sort of eye contact with the staff to let them know we needed drinks and failed. Eventually, we stood up, walked over and asked a waitress for some waters. A waitress came to the table and gave us waters and asked if we wanted drinks but let her know we had already put them in. She seemed annoyed by us, even though we didn't do anything other than tell her we already had drinks in and that we may order some other things soon. Nobody ever came by to check on us even though they came every 2 minutes to gab with the back table. My girlfriend and I didn't really like the nachos. She felt the chili was burnt and I thought it was too salty. We were still hungry and going to ask for entrees, but we were so annoyed with feeling neglected that we decided to go elsewhere. I asked for a box for my food and the waitress said she'd be back and went and talked with the other table again for what seemed like an eternity. At that point we just wanted to leave and eat somewhere else. When she came back after a while I was like... Oh! There you are! And she took my payment. I hate not leaving tips, but I was aggravated. We shouldn't have to get up and ask for what we need. This was upsetting.
