They shortchanged me $50. I had a leak in my kitchen, and Rooter was one of the first to respond to my Yelp request. Their first plumber, DL, was a newbie and had to call in others for a leak in the slab. Their 2nd plumber, SG, was a bit overbearing and offered two options: Opt A, $8,750 to run lines through HOA walls (not allowed). Opt B, ~$24k to redo all the pipes in the home. I asked about a third option: abandoning the leaking line, since it went to an unused spigot, and running a new line to the kitchen. SG went on about "already giving me a break on pricing" for a few minutes. Rooter Co also called in their mitigation company without my consent, which muddled the process of dealing with my insurance. Lastly, SG didn't enter my contact information correctly, so I never received copies of any documents I signed or the quote. Even after calling the next day, I received only a copy of the quote. Before leaving, SG demanded payment upfront. Per our discussion, the visit from Rooter and the mitigation company was $500, but it would be applied to the $8750. I later got a second and third opinion, and both quoted Option C at $5,500 and $4800, respectively. I ended up canceling Rooter Co within their 3-day policy and was refunded $8200. Rooter's response time, text updates, and phone operators were all within what you'd expect from a professional company. However, their plumbers, document management, quoting process, and willingness to hear you out will cost you in the end. They charged me $500 and stole an extra $50. read more

Luke was our technician and showed up :30 minutes after my initial call to their number, on a Saturday! He was very professional and polite. He scoped my lines in a matter of minutes and pointed out all the issues that were found. I ended up hydrojetting which seemed expensive at the time, but then googled up hydrojetting and it actually seemed in-line with market cost . I was actually more bummed he wouldn't recommend snaking the line due to the primary issues (but their quote on doing that seemed super above market, so maybe that's the way they get you to hydrojet. This, I do not know, since it seemed expensive and not a good solution for my case) There was another tech in the area that stopped by that gave me a lot of information on some bigger problematic issues and provided good solutions. It was just too big of a project to confirm on the spot. But I appreciate both the explanation and quote on the spot (albeit lengthy). A couple hours later, my drains are flowing and I'd gladly pay a small premium for the availability (if they were a little on the high end) and that's why I will give my recommendation. I called the Rooter Company to clear a clog in my kitchen sink drain. They came for a free estimate and Daniel recommended they scope my drains to tell me the condition of the drains and clear the clog. He said they would scope the main and sink drains. I knew the drain was clogged in a branch drain before the main because the water backed up in the kitchen sink and in the adjoining bathroom sink, but no other drains were affected. I agreed to pay $195 to scope the drains and clear the clog. After waiting an hour for Anthony to show up with the scope machine, they scoped the main drain, which was clear, and tried to snake the kitchen drain. They failed at snaking the kitchen sink drain and said I needed to hydro-clean the drains for $600, which I declined. Daniel said he could not snake the bathroom drain because the snake would not make the drain turns. So, after being at my house for over two hours the Rooter Company scoped my main drain, charged my $195, and left me with the same clogged sink drains. I got nothing for my money and it seemed like a bait and switch scheme. I suggest you use someone else if you need plumbing work. The next day, I ran a snake down the bathroom drain and easily cleared the clog in 30 minutes. read more

I hired these guys to fix a problem with the kitchen faucet not running on hot and the hallway shower having low water pressure. Rooter eventually found the problem and fixed it. But after I paid them $7,900 to install a water conditioning system, which they should have known would not fix it. I paid $1,450 for them to fix the actual problem after the condo's HOA had diagnosed that it was a blockage in the pipes of my unit, which I had to go through the trouble of contacting the HOA and having them send someone, which took a week, based on Rooter's Supervising Plumber claiming there was a leak on the HOA side because the meter still spun when he shut off the water to the unit. Rooter should have known it still spun because there are 8 other units the meter services. It is a three-story condo. The original quote he gave me to fix the actual problem, after I had already paid $7,900 for a water conditioning system was $2,400. And he offered this price after I asked him to give me a fair price since I'd already paid him a large sum for the water conditioning work. $2,400 was not a fair price considering the repair job and considering I had already paid $7,900 for a system which did not fix the problem. Not to mention, the hallway shower no longer ran water at all after the water conditioning system was installed. He settled on $1,450, which I feel was still too steep. But paid because I was so tired of this problem dragging on for the weeks it dragged on. The office had also told me they would do the repair work under the warranty of the water conditioning system. But their plumbing supervisor didn't honor that. I felt pressured price-wise to pay them, which I really didn't appreciate. They fixed the problem and are knowledgeable about plumbing, so I'm rating them 3 stars. But if they hadn't been out to squeeze me of money and had been out to fix it honestly from the beginning, I would give them 5 stars. If they were to refund me $1,450 I would give them 5 stars. On a separate note, the sediment in the pipes may have come from Anaheim public utility's water treatment plant, a $200 million project which got the green light in 2020, completed phase A and B construction in 2024, and Phase C construction to complete between Fall 2026-2028, to treat chemicals from 19 groundwater wells. Neighbors have reported damage done to a brand new dishwasher since the project started. So if you live in Anaheim, beware that this may be the problem of low water pressure or no pressure and get your plumber to fix it honestly from the beginning. read more

With a recent newborn, having a slow draining kitchen sink was a nightmare! I desperately needed help with unclogging! Rooter company came out the next day and provided incredible support! And most Importantly a fix! I was offered either a snake clean or a hydro jet on top, I opted in the hydrojet cleaning as they offer a 1 year warrantee on top. The job was more difficult than expected as a cast pipe was installed in between 2 PCB for the main outlet, this caused some trouble opening up the cap. Cutting through the wall and Installing a new outlet pipe was required. The cost definitely piled up unexpectedly more than I would want, but Ryan and Devin were both troopers and put in the extra effort/time on the job!
