Seafood Boat! Sooo much food and sooo delicious!
    Hope D.

From the moment we walked in the service was impeccable. The ambiance definitely gives you a Florida beach restaurant feel, it's casual but has some upscale finesse. Now the food , oh the food. We started off with the Cajun style scallops, and I probably could have had a dozen of those! Perfectly cooked, served hot, and just smooth deliciousness. (And I'm a scallop snob) For entrees my boyfriend got the stuffed shrimp and they were so good! I wanted a little bit of everything, so I got the seafood boat. And let me tell ya, they give you so much food! The menu describes the crab legs as over a pound, pretty sure I got like 3 lbs of them! Everything was cooked so well, and even the veggies and baked potato were so yummy! In fact my boyfriend speaks of how great the baked potato was often! It definitely is a bit pricey, but good seafood is. And this is well worth the price! Definitely will be back!

My hubby cracked all 4 pounds!

A slice of paradise in the heart of Jeannette! If you're looking for a beach vacation but can't afford one, head over to The Lobster Shack. Inside, the place is adorned with nautical decorations and modern reggae music is being played in the background. Although their menu is expensive, it is also extensive with salads, sandwiches, pastas, and of course lots of lobster and crab! The night my husband and I went to The Lobster Shack they were having a special: 4 pounds of Kind Crab Legs, 2 salads, 2 potatoes, and veggies for $95. The crab legs were phenomenal and tasted just like we were on a beach boardwalk on vacation! They provided lots of extra butter and the service was top notch! We will definitely be back and looking forward to trying some of their lobster meals! P.S. Make sure you bring your husband to crack the 4 pounds of crab legs you'll get! My hubby's the best!

We decided to go here for our 46th wedding anniversary. We were not disappointed! The cuisine was absolutely delicious. Everything was cooked exactly the correct way for the seafood and the steak. So delicious! The wait staff were efficient, always making sure we had everything we needed. The ambiance was comfortable and the over head music fir the evening. We had a wonderful eating experience and suggest to all you experience it yourself.

The positive reviews outweigh the negative so we decided on The Lobster Shack to celebrate our new jobs. Having never been there before, we'd make up our own minds. WOW! We were not disappointed! The service, food and atmosphere were all great! Not pricey for excellent seafood either. Can easily pay more for good seafood. Highly recommend! Go hungry...they feed you well.

I've been wanting to try the lobster shack for so long! I was in Latrobe & Irwin last week and figured I better make the trek over to finally try it. I got the Connecticut lobster rolls and the lb of steamed shrimp to take home. I ate the lobster rolls right away, the twin rolls was good and I thought good for the price. The lobster was warm and I loved the butter. The lobster was really small though, not many big chunks at all. I didn't know it came with hush puppies so I ordered an extra side and had a bunch that ended up going to waste. The shrimp was ok, a little overdone and tough. Would for sure come back for lobster rolls if I was in the area again!

    Seafood Boat

This was the first visit to Lobster Shack for our 7 person group and each of us enjoyed something different. I had The Seafood Boat and I thoroughly enjoyed every bite. The platter had a small lobster tail, about 8 jumbo shrimp, and a LOT of crab legs plus hush puppies, salad, a baked potato and sautéed zucchini. It was delicious! The service was prompt and friendly, and no one hovered over us. I read reviews that ripped the decor and reported that the food was served in plastic baskets lined with paper. Only one person in our cohort received her lobster roll, fries, and hush puppies in a basket because it was a sandwich; the rest of us were served on white ceramic platters because we ordered entrees. The tables had fabric tablecloths and napkins; the decor is casual seaside. Yes, it's expensive; my platter was $65 but it was a lot of food and it was well prepared. This is a nice place; give it a try.

This was an easy five stars. My wife and I came here for a "Valentine's" dinner. We both got the seafood boat. To be honest, we could have shared one boat and tried something else as well. The place is small and pretty casual. It sits in the middle of a neighborhood off of 130. The food was all awesome! The boat included a salad, potato, several clusters of crab legs, a huge pile of shrimp, and off course a nice Maine lobster tail

Several ordered lobster that they are known for, others enjoyed steak, which looked really good. A couple people had the shrimp lobster scampi, which looked wonderful, stuffed shrimp - excellent, and I had the salmon on a plank, which was cooked perfectly and delicious with the maple glaze. House salad salads and choice of rice or twice baked potatoes rounded out the meal. There was no room for dessert!! the birthday girl received a complementary almond cake which she could not finish, and it looked amazing. Getting separate checks made the payment process easy too. Our appetizer was phenomenal, especially the crab cake--it was one of the highlights of the meal. We also tried the crab mac & cheese, which was rich, flavorful, and definitely worth ordering. The portions are on the smaller side, but by the end of the meal we were completely satisfied. Our only disappointment was the fish entrées, as both were a bit overcooked. Aside from that, everything else was excellent. Overall, it's a gorgeous restaurant with outstanding service, delicious appetizers, and a wonderful atmosphere. We went on Valentine's Day, and the evening started our wonderful, with cocktails at the bar and the lovely touch of the owner's grandson gifting a red rose to the ladies. But then the food came. It was a set menu priced $99 per person. All was going well, until one of our entrees arrived, and they sent out raw chicken. Not slightly questionable - clearly still raw. I wouldn't expect that at Denny's never mind a fine dining establishment. The server was apologetic and took the other plate back into the kitchen to keep it warm so that we could eat together. When the food came back out, my husband's crab cakes had gone dry. On my plate, they had simply removed the raw chicken - not finished cooking it or replacing it, but removed it so that there were only two small pieces of chicken, and a huge pile of gnocchi and a huge mess on the plate where they had not taken the time to clean it up. Which was obviously disappointing. When the bill came, my husband questioned whether something should have been taken off the check based on our experience. The owner came over and eventually took $100 off the bill, which was absolutely fine. But then she concluded with "are you satisfied now, because I would like your table back to give to someone else". I don't recall an owner ever being so rude to a couple who have just spent $400 in a restaurant. Customers spending that kind of money should never feel rushed or spoken to like that (we still had half a bottle of wine, which we might have finished there had our experience been different). All she did was encourage us to write this review and ensure that we will never go back.

Our server was excellent and the auxiliary staff were courteous and efficient. We started with a calamari appetizer which was a little spicy but delicious. Beware of the two Thai chilies in the mix! Next my husband had the lobster bisque. It was quite rich with a large chunk of lobster as a garnish. Our main courses were a 10 ounce filet, wild caught shrimp stuffed with crabmeat and Chilean sea bass. Everyone loved their entrees. Our son especially loved the filet, it was so tender. We ordered two side dishes for the table and they were plenty for the three of us. Decadent lobster mashed potatoes and crabmeat fried rice. We shared a dessert, creme brûlée which was topped with fresh berries and served with chewy cocoa snowflake cookies. Overall the food was excellent. Service started out a little rocky. I had made a reservation online and it would only let me choose a high top. We don't like high tops so I called the restaurant a few days before and they assured me they could accommodate us with a regular table, not to worry. Upon entering and giving my name for the reservation, the Maitre D'être said it's for a high top. I explained that I'd called and we didn't want a high top. He said he could only offer us a booth in the lounge, so we took it. The lounge had a jazz trio playing and the music was a bit too loud for comfortable conversation. The server had to talk above the music to be heard by us. Luckily they took a break and when they came back the volume was lower. As we were leaving I noticed there was a whole dining room with empty tables which were NOT high tops. So why did they seat us in the lounge? Our drink orders were pretty simple, however because they serve the cocktails from the shaker, the server mixed up the dinks and poured my husband's margarita into my 'dirty' martini glass. So I had a three blue cheese olive margarita! A margarita-tini! He realized what he did, apologized and ran off to get another margarita for my husband. I had eaten the olives and tasted the margarita, which was very good. When he returned, he asked if I still wanted the martini and I laughed and said, yes, that what I ordered. So my husband got the benefit of two Margaritas for the price of one and I got three extra blue cheese olives! That was the only goof up. The rest of the meal was flawlessly served. I felt that even though the prices are high, the portion size and the quality of the food provide a good value. You expect to pay more in a place like this. It was well worth it in my opinion. And if you are there during Happy Hour you can choose cocktails and appetizers from the Happy Hour menu which is quite reasonable.
