We stopped my The Rustic Muffin on a whim, while waiting to get pedicures (at Distinctive Nails). The cafe was cozy, cute, and bright. Not a ton of seating, but it wasn't too busy when we arrived. It looks like they also have outdoor seating for when the weather is nicer. It's very windy/stormy today, so I'm guessing they just had their chairs put up somewhere safe. I also noticed a drive thru. We were able to order immediately upon entry. I believe the cashier might have been new, but she was nice and the other ladies behind the counter were showing her the ropes on the register. My daughter tried the Peeps muffin. It was delicious, although I'm not a fan of peeps, do she got that all to herself. The muffin was funfetti batter with blue cream cheese frosting, and the peep on top. I had The Soho which is turkey, bacon, swiss cheese, lettuce, tomato, avocado, and Sriracha Mayo on an everything bagel. It was really delicious, although I do wish I would've asked for a little bit more of the mayo! The bagel was perfectly chewy too. Yum! The owner was there in the dining area, and made sure my daughter was enjoying her muffin. He told her how he made them, and you can definitely tell that this is something he is passionate about! read more

Not really a cafe anymore. They serve alcohol and run out of bagels by 10am. Good if you go early to get coffee and bagels to go.

The Rustic Muffin is the newest gem located just a short distance from Cane Bay. The neighborhood Facebook page has been raving about how incredible the bagels and coffee are so I made this a must try. I came in around 10:45 and the parking lot was packed. Not a spot to be had. However, people were walking out as fast as they were walking in, so I managed to grab a spot and head in. The atmosphere has quite the charm and I could feel so much positive energy. There were three young ladies staffing the counter and constantly smiling and moving with a purpose. They provided excellent customer service and did so with efficiency. I just finished my Jalapeno Bagel with Jalapeno cream cheese and I'll have to say it was probably the best bagel I've ever eaten. The bagel was lightly toasted and had a perfect amount of cream cheese applied. The Cane Bay Bold coffee is equally as amazing. I drink it black of course, and this is just the right amount of smooth and bold to be perfect for any time of day. I'm always hesitant when I hear so many great reviews because it puts it on a pedestal, but fortunately, The Rustic Muffin delivered. I'll be back this weekend to try a bacon, egg, and cheese bagel. Serving speed is incredibly slow. Especially the drive through. There needs to be workers designated to the drive thru. I've had it it takes 18 minutes to get my coffee - when I'm the only person in the drive thru. The food is pretty good, especially for a fast food place. Bagels, doughnuts + muffins are good. Coffee is average, don't ask for a cappuccino because it'll come out as a latte with VERY little foam. Needs to up their service + drink quality because other coffee shops will come in soon with all the building & easily take business. It's just the only coffee shop around here (besides Starbucks & who wants to drink from there ?) Took the time to write this review because there's two cars ahead of me in line & I knew I was going to be waiting for atleast 20-30 minutes . I do not blame the workers. I've been here twice and they have not disappointed! The decor matches the name and is super inviting. The tables are all distressed and have a cute message painted on them. The space isn't huge but they have made great use of it. They have made their corner seating look especially comfy. I'm Gluten Free and they have Gluten Free NY Bagels. Currently they offer Plain and Everything. It is hard to find a good bagel here in the Goose Creek area, well really anywhere in Charleston. Add in Gluten Free and it is next to impossible so it made me super happy to find out that they also have Everything GF Bagels. Today I ordered a Toasted GF Everything with hot ham and cheddar cheese. My daughter had a Toasted Everything (not GF) Bagel, Lox, and plain cream cheese sandwich. Her bagel looked huge and had tons of toppings all around it. It looked great and she said it was very good. Other offerings they have are several types of bagel sandwiches. They also sell muffins and croissants. Other food offerings are salads and pizza. They offer multiple iced coffee beverages and shakes as well. And, for dessert you can get homemade cookies of NY Style Cheesecake! read more

They say the bagels are NY Style bagels. Unfortunately, Connecticut is their idea of up New York. They were very disappointing; not even close to NY style. Apparently, they are sent here frozen which explains why they are so expensive, and not up to standard. Bagels are supposed to be boiled, then baked right afterwards. This little coffee shop is awesome! The blueberry muffin was so moist and so delicious! I don't drink froufrou coffee, but I will say, a regular coffee with a splash of crème was the perfect match with the blueberry muffin. Did I mention the muffin was off the chain!!! I have been here a few times now, but kept forgetting to check in on Yelp. I am thrilled this gem is right up the road from where I live. I am a bagel girl so being able to get a REAL bagel is always a treat. I have also ordered several at a time and take them home to freeze. I have not had the muffins, they always look delish. We are new to the area from Philadelphia and were craving a good bagel. I set out on my Yelp search and I found this little gem. We set out on Saturday morning quest to find this Yankee approved bagel. We were served by the owner who is super friendly and knows her bagels. It was late morning so not a big selection left. My husband tried a pizza bagel sandwich and said it was very good. My son and I shared the last everything bagel with cream cheese...OMG just like back home. The owner (I didn't get her name) and I were talking coffee and she had me try an Iced coffee made with Italian ice! What a game changer, it was so rich and creamy. Because we live about 30 minutes from my new favorite spot I was advised that I can call ahead and order a dozen bagels. And let's talk about the rustic farmhouse decor and seating area it is super cute. Very cute hidden gem, did not expect such an extensive menu. baked goods looked awesome, and that's a high compliment coming from me. i got a caramel latte & a vanilla latte for my mom. my mom loved her latte, but i did feel that i was just drinking caramel milk. however, my smoked salmon bagel was AMAZING. will be back for the food & to find a less sweet drink. read more

Great bagels. Fresh coffee. A bit pricey. Several times in drive through was a long wait while customers who walked in were helped first.
