I would not recommend this place to anyone. Stopped by here with my man today to get some food we were starving. Sit down didn't get drinks till right before we got our food (which was bad). I ordered the steak and eggs. My steak tasted old and over cooked, my eggs I ordered medium and got medium scrambled. They had no A1 sauce for my steak. They were sharing 1 basket of jam between all tables which is ridiculous to do during COVID. My man ordered the Biscuits and Gravy and didn't even get the second part of his meal which was eggs. I don't know how this place is rated so highly as the service was worse than terrible. They were not anywhere near busy as there were maybe 2 or 3 other tables not including our group. It took almost an hour to receive the food we had ordered and when we got the food every order had something that was wrong with it whether it was burnt, undercooked or just missing vital ingredients. Please ignore all the 5 star reviews as they are obviously falsified. The employees all have a depressed look that is very unsettling. I went here on the way to Tahoe and it was good breakfast. On the way home we came back and they said that they had a big party and we might have to wait 15-20 minutes. We said that was fine and ordered coffee. Around 30 minutes in, the coffee was gone and we started to get antsy about the food. They said they would check. Still nothing. At 50 minutes we started getting pretty vocal to whoever is passing by. They bring out food for one of our party of 4. At about an hour, the waiter informs us that due to a mixup, they haven't started on our food, and if we want to stay, it will be another 20-25 minutes, but he can give us a 20% discount. We decided to leave instead. Honestly, if they had just told us part way into the hour that something was up, I would have been happy. read more

BUT... we came here for breakfast on our way home from Truckee and they took our order, 1 omelette and 1 'Rustic Breakfast' (2 eggs, bacon and hash browns). New fav place for great burgers! Just off the Hwy at Emigrant Gap. Burgers with great toasted buns, not those pasty little fast food kind. And a whole 1/2 pound of meat cooked to order. We just left this place. Our family had the worst dining experience of our life. Complete Waste of time. When we entered it took a while to get our order taken. When we finally ordered, we ordered the blackened pork with mash and veggies with tortilla soup, a kids hot dog meal with fries and fettuccine with chicken and a salad. We were told there was no pork so we ordered a steak instead. The waiter came back again and said they ran out of fries and tortilla soup. So we ordered clam chowder instead. He came back again to let us know there was no no mash potatoes and no veggies. None of this was stated in the beginning they had a complete list of missing items and waited until an hour after we were there. I mean seriously no potatoes!!! The waiter said it was the weekend so they ran out of stuff. What does that even mean? It was a Saturday at 5pm. To make matters worse we were the only customers there !! We decided to leave. We stopped here, not to eat, but in dire need of a restroom for 6 kids. The young man behind the bar not only made us feel welcome, but he offered the kids all glasses of water and me a cup of coffee. This place has a nice woodsy atmosphere and the servers were nice. The coffee was good, the burgers were bland with stale buns, the fries were half good and half greasy, all veggies were fresh and delicious. If they drain the fries a bit before plating, use fresh bread, and add some flavor to the hamburger patties, they could be great. read more

This restaurant was terrible. We were waiting for more than 45 minutes when there was no one else in the restaurant. After 45 minutes, I finally got the coffee I had ordered. It was not even that great. We got our food about an hour after we ordered. I had the Breakfast sliders. My country potatoes were burnt and flavorless. My sliders did not even have eggs on them and the sausage was burnt to a crisp. They crunched when I bit into them. It took me 5 minutes to flag down a waiter to get my eggs on the sliders. While I was waiting, my friends got their food and their food was bland. The breakfast nachos looked good but were flavorless once the sprinkle of Chorizo was eaten. The pancakes tasted like bread dough and weren't properly cooked and the sausages were all burnt on one side and barely cook on the other. Once my friends were done, I finally got my sliders back and the chef hadn't even divided the two eggs into the two sliders, the chef just placed them both together on top. I tried taking a bite but the eggs had no seasoning and my tastebuds couldn't handle the burnt sausage. Overall, the service was terrible, the food was either bland, burnt, or undercooked, and the staff all looked depressed. No idea how this place got almost five stars. What a great way to end a vacation in Tahoe. read more

During a long drive from Tahoe back to the bay in the snow we stopped here out of necessity cuz there weren't many options around. But it turned out to be a great place. My family and I came here after playing in the snow and also because it was the closest restaurant to us. It's a small little place but cozy. We were seated immediately as we walked in, and I was surprised because we were a party of 6 and it was during lunch. The waiter took our orders and the food came in no time. The staff was very nice, polite and helpful. They did however forget the sausages that came with my little ones order and my daughter's lunch came with soup, but they quickly corrected the mistake. Overall, I definately would recommend this place because the service is pretty great and food wasn't bad either. I did notice that they had nothing but male employees working here.. so for my single ladies out there, you can stop by and have a nice meal with a good view... (Pun intended here) because the employees are easy on the eyes and the view from the restaurant is nice too! read more

Five stars is a high mark, and not something that I would normally do. But in this case the rating is well deserved We "discovered" this place one afternoon when we escaped the valley to get to the woods- our plan was to go to the rainbow lodge for lunch- they were closed and we instead found ourselves at a late lunch at the Rustic Table. We had lunch, the food was quite good... but what was most important to us was the FEEL of the place, the attitude and the character of the staff. This place is three stars for just sitting at the window looking over the meadow feeling the sunshine and listening to the music.. the food is four stars for the care in the preparation, and the spirit filled positive attitude of the entire staff is the fifth star! We have been dedicated to the place ever since- we stopped by every few months even when the restaurant was closed for remodeling after the fire ( yes the place was gutted by fire). the restoration was completed and they are back in business.. even now I'm on my way out the door to go back- literally!! gotta go! so should you. read more

This was one of the worst place I've ever been to. My family and I went there at 3:00p.m and didn't get served until 4:33. We didn't even get served our full order. Some of ya got sticks with just the side, some with just the main entree, and some with no food at all. After nearly two hours I didn't even get my burger just the side salad.
