Honestly, this is the smallest bar I've EVER been to. I visited with a big group of people after a Christmas party last year, and we literally could not all fit in the bar comfortably. The service was fine, and the atmosphere was good, but I hate feeling that crowded when I'm trying to have a good time. If you insist on coming here, I would recommend coming early (before it fills up), having one drink, and then moving to a different bar where you will actually be able to breathe. read more

The awesome looking building and the mostly positive reviews quickly caught my attention so I strolled into this lovely bar. The house pineapple drink me and my girlfriend had was great! Floral and refreshingly tasty and at happy hour prices didn't hurt to have a few but the bartender that evening was totally a jerk. Everything I said or asked just seemed like I was a nuisance to him, asked what drinks he recommended he pointed at a glass with pineapples (which was good) and just said beer and turned away. Tried to engage in small talk and he either ignored or had a one word response. Your a grown man at least make eye contact when you speak with someone. It's a narrow, small bar with very few chairs. We managed to snag the table in the front window--be careful sitting in those chairs because they are broken! Definitely a place to just chill with an older crowd who doesn't care what you look like unless you look "Newport". Then GTFO. read more

While not what I would consider a dive bar, it was a cozy spot with a good vibe. Loved that they make their own coffee liqueur, that went in a very tasty coffee drink. Did not love the lack of chairs and the somewhat exclusive attitudes of the locals. read more

This is the bar I've frequented the most lately. I love how laid-back this bar is and how unpretentious the crowd is. The quote on the drinks menu is tells you to be nice or to go to Newport Beach. There's no cover and the drinks aren't expensive. It's a nice stop on your next Laguna pub crawl. read more

I love this place! I wish it was closer to my house. One word- Pine-O. A glass keg stacked with fresh slices of pineapple, topped off with vodka. Mix with fruit juice. $5, delicious. This place gets packed at night, nowhere to sit or stand if you dont get there early. But its definitely fun, great atmosphere and decor. read more

Fun little place! Generous pours and generous smiles... It's small and can be crowded, but not once did I feel claustrophobic inside. Everyone there was friendly and polite to move out the the way if you need to pass through to the restroom or exit. It's a pleasantly strange scene where you can find an intimate corner for a conversation, or just meet some new folks hanging around the bar dancing to the tunes. And WOW that coffee shot of whatever magic that is in it, I don't even know what it was called, but it was delicious. read more

What do I say about this place? It's a really cute location. Good wine. Service was kinda "meh", as upon inquiring about the wine selection, I was asked in a huff, "red or white?"... then was just passed a glass with no info. Seating is super limited, (traditional standing-room-only.) Very cool little (and I do mean little) spot in Laguna Beach. After a fun stroll on the beach, my friend (who lives in the area) took me here while I was visiting for a nice little cocktail or two. It has a retro feel to it, but in today's time. Picture a small little bar in a mountain/ski resort. Staff is friendly and considering it's in Laguna Beach, the prices are pretty good. When we were there there was a good sized crowd and one small table happened to become available as we walked in. But I could see this place easily getting packed! It's not a "night spot" or a party scene, but if you want a drink before heading out, great spot. read more

An absolutely incredible experience! Girlfriends and I were down in Laguna celebrating a bachelorette party, had dinner downtown, and stopped by The Saloon for a bit. We had planned to stay only a half hour but stayed for three instead! The people there were all friendly, and the bartenders (shout out to Erin and Colby) were just perfect! We definitely plan to stop by again the next time we're in town. 12/10 recommend anyone stop at The Saloon if you're in the area, and make sure to check out their yummy coffee shots! read more

A former pharmacy that's been a bar since 1978. The building it is part of is gorgeous and unique. They serve no food, which is something a liquor license would require today. No bar stools but the space limitation requires it. I wouldn't call it a dive, it is sort of midscale I'd say. Cool old antique bar. Bottled beer only, no big deal. Great people watching as folks walk by. I just popped in for a quick beer during the day time, but the small crowd was friendly and so was the bartender. Laguna Beach's ripoff parking meters piss me off, but that's another story. I would recommend the Saloon. read more

This Bar serves great affordable drinks. The bartender Sky is an awesome chill guy to talk to and makes for great conversation. Joe is also another cool bartender to get to know. Arran is also cool. Mike is the owner and runs a great business. I would highly recommend this pub to anyone. read more

This is a must see, it's the local flavor. You won't find another establishment like it. Yes it's small but it is friendly and fun. I am a former bar owner in upstate NY and I visit this area three times a year and I always visit the Saloon several times each trip, I have tried to buy this bar just about every time I come to California, even offered to partner, that is how much I like the Saloon. If you are visiting Laguna Beach or surrounding area you should do yourself the favor and stop in. read more
