Can't leave this place without catching a sunset and a yummy dessert. We've been coming here for years as this was our playground. The pool was being renovated so the backdrop isn't as nice. The service was a bit slower that day but the yummy hazelnut dessert made up for it. We will always come back.

James Bond is known to visit the Montage Lobby Lounge for a Dirty Martini, "shaken, not stirred" whenever he finds himself on holiday in SoCal. While you wait for him to arrive, take a breath of fresh air on the balcony and enjoy the glorious views overlooking the Pacific. Warm up inside, next to the piano. Say hello to Steve, a pianist, playing a rendition of a classic tune or a modern interpretation of a mainstream pop song. Not sure if he's a secret agent or just a sharply-dressed savant that plays exceptionally well. Either way, it's a great a cover. Scan the barcode that rests on the piano, there is a link to his website which allows you to request songs. Ask for Mambo No. 5 to set the mood. Accept the offer for some nibbles when the waiter stops by for your order. They are delicious and will nicely compliment your drink. Order an Old-Fashioned, or the Penicillin without looking at the menu to partake in the espionage theme. You'll look like you know your way around the place. Enjoy! Send a drink to the attractive women sitting at the bar by herself. Wait 5 minutes then carefully approach her and ask if you got it right. Apologize for being late to the blind date then explain that a bad actor kept you from arriving on time. Life is an adventure, go out, explore, take risk, and live it as if it were a movie you were creating! Tip: Here is the piano man's playlist catalog to request a song. Make sure you get that special song ready for that special person. https://www.streamersonglist.com/t/stevesiupiano/songs

Went here for afternoon tea. They have a lot of food and offer an eat and stay experience - meaning they don't rush you out. They had a wonderful pianist who takes requests and plays a large variation of songs beautifully. In the lounge, you can just have drinks or light bites or just work there as a guest. If you want to have the afternoon tea, need to reserve in advance. They offer a lot of food. Mostly sweet over savory. The views are incredibly from the lounge. The day we went the service was slow and sometimes forgetful but very friendly servers that make you feel welcome.

Came here for afternoon tea and the vibes were great, stunning views, and the best food I've ever had at a tea, but you definitely pay for it! Valet is free if you spend more than $125 which the tea alone costs more than that, so come enjoy the day at the lounge and get your money's worth. Their high class but laid back atmosphere is very welcoming, but with that comes super slow service so expect at least 2.5-3 hours for the tea experience. Shout out to Aaron who was so helpful!

Gorgeous views. The service is excellent and the staff are very polite and accommodating. Ambience here is romantic and to die for. The beach walk and ambience is worth everything. Food here is excellent in taste and design.

Fast service and beautiful relaxing sitting areas. In the evenings there is live music although I'm not sure if it's there every night.

Their creme brulee is absolutely extraordinary. A must try. I have had dinner and dessert at some of the best restaurants in the world. Their pastry chef here is incredible. The presentation, the taste, the balance between acid, sweetness, crunchiness and overall taste was truly exceptional. I think Michelin reviewers should visit the lounge here and try their creme brulee. Incredible!

Afternoon tea. Reserve in advance.

This review is for the seasonal afternoon tea service. We made reservations a few weeks in advance and showed up on a Sunday in December to celebrate our anniversary. The afternoon tea is in the lobby bar area. First impression was that it's casual and there was no host stand where you get greeted so you kind of have to chase down one of the servers which is a little awkward. Once they were ready for us they asked us our seat preference which included some lounge couch chairs with coffee tables and some regular sized tables. The live piano was a highlight and the pianist was excellent playing Christmas themed music as well as some newer hits. We started off with some complimentary champagne which was a pleasant surprise. The tea selection was decent. I went with the vanilla almond soufflé flavor which I highly recommend. For food we were served a tower of bite sized sandwiches. The highlight was the lobster roll. Next arrived the sweets tower. The scones were very good and paired well with the fresh strawberry jam. I was really surprised not to find any chocolate flavored pastries which I would expect to be a standard. One of the sweets was a yuzu flavored lollipop which I wasn't a fan of since yuzu is not a flavor I prefer. Service was friendly and valet was free with validation. After out afternoon tea we went for a walk on the grounds which I recommend to enjoy the ocean views from one of the benches by the paved walkway.

Food - cheese board, charcuterie, tuna tartare, coffee, fine wine and booze, and other finger foods Ambiance - classy and beautiful.

A large lobby lounge that has quite the view. You can go outside and view the ocean and pool or you can stay inside and be on a couch, at a table, at the bar, or nestle up by the fireplace. There are plenty of drink options along with a snack or small items to eat in the evening. Enjoy the company of your travel companions (be it family, friends, or co-workers (hopefully ones you like)) and listen to live music until midnight. The ambience is great and while you have music and others around you, you will be pleasantly surprised that you can actually hear those in your party without everyone leaning forward and shouting. Keep in mind it is busy and a lounge so it can take some time for your order to be taken and food to come out, but the wait staff is friendly and quick with a recommendation when asked. If you have about $1,000 burning in your pockets that you want to spend on a drink you can buy the Cinque Stelle. Don't forget to tip your wait staff!!

Hellllloooo beautiful! My boss told me I had to stop in for a drink. We originally made reservations at one of the restaurants but it was late afternoon and we couldn't wait. The lobby lounge has a spectacular view of the pool and property. Waitresses bring you olives and a nut/berry mixture. The cocktails are pricy but worth the experience. You can see several people stop in just to snap a photo. We parked offsite because our rental didn't quite fit in with all the range rovers and then we walked down to the beach after. Be ready - it's beautiful!

Loved my birthday cake and visit at the Montage! The service was amazing from the Lobby Lounge to the Spa, definitely a 10/10! Thank you all!

Our plan changed twice(maybe more), and she adapted to every change without hesitation. She also helped hand the flowers to the groom-to-be, which made the proposal more special. They even gave the couple a beautiful corner table by the window so they could enjoy the ocean view. It was absolutely perfect and made the moment even more memorable. We truly appreciate her kindness and the amazing service from your team. Everyone went above and beyond to make this proposal a success, and we're so grateful. But wow did that change my mind!! The margherita flatbread was a table favorite and approved by my Italian friends. We also loved the alaskan halibut tacos & crispy chicken sandwich. The portions were big enough to share or eat individually so it felt worth the price. As a party of 8, we honestly had a great experience with our food, service, and waterfront seating. The staff were not quick to rush us while we celebrated my friend's birthday with a cake and pictures, so that was very much appreciated. I would absolutely come back for my birthday or any special occasion! Some things to note: - $10 valet parking with validation but there's plenty of metered street parking out front - 20% service charge automatically added to the bill

Took my mother-in-law here for her birthday and we all had such a great experience!…read more We got there around 4-4:15pm and had about a 20 minute wait, but we were able to find a high top table that we got to sit at and were able to order drinks from the bar, so that helped to pass our time. We got seated at our table at our table around 4:30p and had the most perfect view of the ocean! *we went on a Friday night and noticed the patio cleared out about 4:45-5pm and I didn't appear to have a lot of people waiting during that time. The main patio was covered with umbrellas, so once you are seated for dinner, there was plenty of umbrellas for shade and heaters for when it got a little cooler. For our food orders, and as recommended by our server, we went with their seafood options and ordered their Pacific Ceviche for an appetizer and for Entrees my husband got the Roasted Halibut and me and my mother-in-law both got the Scallop and Shrimp pasta. We all loved our dishes and were very satisfied with our choices. Their menu does have non-seafood options, but why not to try what they're most prominent for? They don't have a dessert menu, but they heard that we were celebrating mom's birthday so they brought us a little Toffee Cake to share and enjoy...and for a place that doesn't have dessert, the cake was pretty delicious. Such a cute place all around. My husband and I can't wait to go back! Parking - they have valet parking available right in front of the restaurant or theres street metered parking in the surrounding area.

On the deck overlooking the Pacific Ocean! What a beautiful view!!…read moreWe came here to celebrate a friend's birthday. Upon arrival, you'll find that the valet completely disregards the flow of the street. They use the southbound lane as a parking lot, effectively turning a small two-way road into a one-way alley. The valet guys were also rude to people trying to drive through for no apparent reason. When sitting outside on the deck, there are 12 heaters available, but the hostess wouldn't turn them on. (I've eaten at many waterfront restaurants, and they all turn the heaters on--especially when the temperature drops from 80°F and sunny to 68°F after the sun goes down.) The website states no seating after 8 p.m., yet they were still seating people well after 8:15. The menu was also not what I was expecting. While waiting for dinner, the aroma of marijuana drifted across the dining area. (I know they can't control what happens outside their establishment.) the deck is roped off because apparently it's unsafe and could fall off at any moment in addition to the rotting floor. The food: The menu is underwhelming. I ordered the chicken with sun-dried tomato risotto and vegetables. The risotto was undercooked and flavorless, and the chicken was also lacking flavor. I sampled the New York steak with mashed potatoes--the steak was cooked well, but the potatoes were cold. We didn't even bother ordering dessert and went elsewhere instead.

We stopped by spontaneously for a weekend brunch after seeing this spot on social media, and were pleasantly surprised that it 100% lived up to the hype! One of our favorites was the ceviche, which came with a tasty mix of cooked white fish, tomato, peppers, onion and cilantro paired with fresh tortilla chips, and is a refreshing option for a hot summer Californian day. I also surprisingly enjoyed the bone marrow, which was so deeply flavorful without being overwhelmingly rich, and paired beautifully with their freshly roasted bread. Also highly recommend trying their cocktails, especially the French, which comes with a creative spin of raspberry sorbet and brut to pour over. Definitely check out this hidden gem restaurant for innovative and elevated Californian cuisine if you're in Laguna!

She was incredibly kind, attentive, and genuinely cared about making sure everyone was having a great time. Her positive attitude and joyful spirit was infectious, Kiana was very sweet and attentive. She constantly checked in to make sure we had everything we needed without ever being overbearing, allowing us to enjoy our time together while still feeling well taken care of. She also gave fantastic recommendations, and everything we ordered came out timely and perfectly prepared. One thing that really stood out was when I asked if they happened to have truffle fries, even though they weren't on the menu. She explained that they normally only serve them during happy hour, but she offered to check anyway...and to my surprise, she was able to bring them out for us! That small gesture meant so much and showed how willing she was to go above and beyond for her guests. To make the birthday celebration even more special, she brought out a beautiful tres leches cake with a candle so we could all sing happy birthday to my cousin. It was such a thoughtful touch and made the moment feel truly special. After we paid, we had the chance to chat with her, and it only confirmed what we had already experienced throughout the meal--she is such a positive, uplifting person. She's the kind of employee who lights up an establishment and makes people want to come back. We left talking about how wonderful she was, and she played a huge role in making our celebration so memorable. The food was just as amazing as the service. We started with the crab and spinach dip and the bacon-wrapped shrimp appetizer, both of which were absolutely delicious and the perfect way to start our meal. I ordered the Caesar salad with steak, and it was cooked perfectly and full of flavor. Everything we ordered came out fresh, timely, and exactly as expected.
