There are three calazones on the menu. One is just cheeze, the other cheese and spinach, the last has cheese and prosciutto. I wanted meat and spinach, and they were able to accommodate me. Also, They have a nice wood fired pizza oven, but I've never had a deep fried calazone before, so I got one. It was crispy and yummy! We went on a recommendation to try this place. We will never go back. My wife placed our order and brought our beer back to our table, noticing the one beer was cloudy, sometimes IPA are cloudy had a few sips after 5 or so mins noticed floaters in the beer, I decided the beer was not appealing went to the bar and told the server that I did not want to drink floaters, then another sever told me " Well that is because I shook the keg" Why would you shake a keg is beyond me. So in a addition to the floaters I was drinking Trub. I asked for a different beer and was told " You drank part of this beer and I will have to charge you for the next one as he poured out my glass. I then told him just pour me a half of the beer to replace the one you poured out. He proceeded to pour a full glass of a different beer,so I took that new beer and thought he had changed his mind and make a wrong into a right. When my wife went to pay our tab he not only charged for the new beer but also the Floater Beer, when she questioned the tab, he laughed it is what it is. Some of the best pizza you will ever try! Crust is thin and a little crispy on the edges, which I love. Breadsticks and garlic knots are great. Calzones are big and perfectly baked. The beer list rotates, is always interesting, and guaranteed to have something for everyone's taste. I am perplexed by reviews that the staff are unfriendly or standoffish. I have been here several times and EVERYONE is always friendly and helpful. Seating is open, which isn't weird or confusing, and every time I have been in I have heard a staff member tell this to anyone who wanders in and doesn't look like they know what to do. You do order at the counter, but i have also seen the owner either say "come on up when you're ready to order" or come out to a table with menus when someone is sitting and waiting. This is a local place and full of local fans, so some conversations are going to happen between staff and customers who they know well, but no customer is ever ignored and I would rate the service consistently outstanding. They do get busy in the evenings and seating can be hard to come by, but it's thoroughly worth waiting. I am not from Salisbury but attend the theatre up there frequently and this is one of my favorite pre-show dinners. read more

Says they close at 12pm, I came in at 11:20 and refused to make me a pizza, the only reason I really came. Had a beer and left.... won't go back and wouldn't recommend. Clearly a local spot with employees that don't care about anyone that isn't a regular. read more

Wish I could say good things as this may be an aberration but I ordered two pizzas from the Salty Caper and they were dreadful. Both were black on the bottom and dry on the top. the salty caper has been rated best pizza place in rowan county for good reason. first theres a crazy ass pizza chef who actually spins the dough in the air! hes amazing and hillarious. i wanted a great beer but didnt realy know what was going on and a guy named andy helped me by givivg me a better understanding of what was going on. my family and i come here everytime we r in town. my kids enjoy it because the chef teaches them to spin then turns it into an awesome desert. they deffently get 5 stars from me. read more

So, I was told that the Salty Caper had the best pizza in town. I took my family to the Salisbury location for dinner to just see how good it was. We arrive at the location to find a little hole in the wall, which doesn't bother me, but not many tables to choose from. The Salty Caper has the atmosphere of a small pub and like many of the other reviews, it was very noisy. This was our first visit to the Salty Caper and when we walked in the door we stood there waiting to see if we just grabbed a table or waited on the wait staff. Good thing we didn't wait on the wait staff to sit us because we would probably still be standing at door waiting. We sat down and waited for someone to come to our table, but that never happened. I noticed people going up to the bar and talking to the staff and I figured at that point, that's where you put in your order. I placed our order got our drinks and went back to our table. There is no wait staff going around to the tables refilling your drinks, you go up to the bar and get the refills yourself. We ordered an appetizer and pizza for dinner. For the appetizer we ordered the Sgabei, which was very good, and it came out about 20 min after our order placement. After about an hour wait for the pizza, I went up to the bar to find out the status of our order. The wait staff started looking for the ticket and apparently the pizza was sent out and given to another customer. Highly unlikely that there was another customer there with the same name, that had ordered the exact same 2 pizza's. The staff put in the order again and 15 minutes later my wife's small four cheese pizza finally arrived at our table. My Tex Mex small pizza arrived 10 minutes later and was burnt. What a huge disappointment. I immediately asked for a box and went up to pay for our order. At that point the staff could only apologize for our inconvenience but never offered to take anything off the bill. Needless to say, this was our first and last visit to the Salty Caper. Will not give this place a second chance. read more
