The reason for the 3 stars is that the food was bland. I hoped there would be some tasty bright sauces for the tacos, but it was just drab. There was only one hot sauce on the table. The best items we had was their house margarita that was just tequila, lime juice, and agave, but it wasn't freshly made and was just poured from a large container. Which is fine, but I started to question how long it had been sitting there and if they do make it fresh every evening or not. My pork belly tacos were good but our carnitas and barbacoa tacos were not. I couldn't even finish it. The place was fairly clean and had cute decorations. You order at a counter and pay before you even sit down so I don't think it's really a full service restaurant. All the workers were really nice, the food just wasn't good. 4 tacos + chips & queso + 2 margaritas for $50 before tip.

I thought I wrote a review of this place already but I guess not…read more This is probably some of the best food I've had in the entire trip. This is a tiny brewery tucked away in some random corner on Tybee Island and it's so easy to just pass it right by. But what a gem. I can't remember what everyone else got but I got something along the lines of Thai chicken with naan (maybe) but dang it was really delicious. You would think that a small brewery like this would have just your generic bar food - burgers, pizza, chicken wings, but it has more than that and it's elevated. It was just delicious. The service was good, quick and friendly, and it wasn't too loud or busy when we went. So if you're passing through Tybee Island, take the time to check this place out. It is worth it.

There's brewery itself is on the top level, and I didn't see mobility accessible pathways so be mindful if you're visiting with someone who is mobility impaired. The inside is small, about 4 different types is high tops to accommodate different size groups, a bar with about 10 seats, and some bar stools on the balcony. When we arrived, there was one person behind the bar and kitchen staff. I think there was someone else working? (They were cleaning tables, but also drinking a beer. So I'm unsure) Since it was a light crew, things moved a little slow, which wasn't a bad thing because it gave us time to take a beat. It did, however, impact beer selection. My first choice was out, but there wasn't enough staff to switch out the keg. I got another beer, so no problem there, but noticed others waiting a longer time. There's a good bit of options to choose from, which was cool. And they have cocktails and a menu as well. This isn't my favorite brewery that I've been to, but it's a cool place to stop by when on the island.

The restaurant is right on the water in the middle of a marina, so fishing boats come in and they clean the fish not far from the restaurant's edge. We started off with a half pound shrimp that was hot and well seasoned. The tartar sauce was very spicy with horseradish. I tried the special Herb Salad. It was tasty but a little pricey at 18.63. It would have been tasty with some pecans or walnuts. For entrees we tried the shrimp and grits. Very tasty with red eye gravy on top. Was missing the sausage, but still very good. Shrimp was well seasoned. The scallop dinner was delicious. Came with Alfredo sauce, hush puppies and a side salad. Prices are fair for all local seafood, which is what you expect on Tybee. And you can taste the difference in the local seafood. Very fresh and tasty. My one negative here was food came out too fast. We were still enjoying salads, then the shrimp appetizer came out. We were still eating our shrimp app, and the entrees came out. Felt a little rushed. The server was ready to bring the check, but we asked for dessert first. They already ran out of one dessert and just had the special, which was cheesecake. I normally don't complain about food coming out too fast, but when you are rushing through your courses, it feels like they need your table quickly. Food was really good, so it was just easy enough to ask for to go boxes with what we could not finish. Go early so there is no wait. People were waiting as we were leaving.

My kind of dump! LOL... don't let the rundown appearance fool ya, the food is awesome! See below…read morefor review of bathrooms though. We stopped here for lunch on a Tuesday, place wasn't too busy and the service was attentive and both drink and food came out quick. We had hush puppies and peel & eat shrimp to start. The hush puppies weren't much on their own (as they tend to be) but dipped in honey butter they were damn good and kind of addictive. The peel and eat shrimp were cooked perfectly, sweet and succulent. After peeling don't forget to devein if needed... about half our order had some mud vein remaining (which is fine for peel and eat, just remove it!). Then my wife and I split the lunch special, a double fried flounder sandwich with cheese and tartar sauce... a take on McDs double fillet-o-fish. It was amazing! The fresh flounder was cooked perfectly and was soft and juicy inside its crispy fried crust. My wife especially appreciated the toasted bun! The coleslaw that was the lunch special side wasn't great... under seasoned imo. I put a little malt vinegar, salt & pepper on it and it was fine. To finish it off we split a piece of key lime pie. This is the first time either of us had key lime pie, so we don't have much context to compare this to, but our experience with this key lime pie was amazing. The crust was one of the best graham crusts I've had. It was buttery and cooked to the point it had a caramel taste to it. The filling had a cheesecake taste and texture to it with a distinct citrus lime tang. The whipped topping was creamy and cool, a perfect complement to the custard-like filling. A wonderful dessert! Now, the only bad part of this review is of the bathrooms. As much as I like a dive bar, back country vibe... the bathrooms are gross. My wife was visibly disgusted when she returned to the table. Later in our trip she used the restroom at a Savannah gas station and joked it was the Taj Mahal compared to the restroom at Bubba Gumbo's. So, be warned... just hold it if you can! Bathrooms 1-Star... and that's just because they have one and it has running water LOL

Fannie's is a huge, 2-story restaurant with so much space right at the edge of the beach. It just calls out to you! So I headed on in. I let a woman at the door know that I wanted to sit upstairs and she directed me to the stairwell on the side of the building. I went up and came across their spacious upper dining room and deck which looked right out on the beach and boardwalk. Such a great oceanside vibe! As soon as I walked up I was greeted by a gentleman who seemed to be a manager of sorts. He guided me over to a table on the deck and left me with a menu. I appreciate not having to sit around looking crazy! Soon, a waitress named Nicki came over to help me. She was a sweetheart! During my visit I had their steamed oysters, rib plate and the frozen lemonade. The steamed oysters were a bittt overcooked but they worked! The ribs were superrr tender but I wish they had some more meat on them, but I was surprised at how tender they were. The frozen lemonade was delicious and super refreshing! I just don't feel like there was enough liquor in it, and I'm not even one to like too much liquor. All in all, a basic experience when it comes to food, but I was really impressed with the level of service I received, the timeliness of my order and the overall vibe of the restaurant. I'd go back if I'm ever on Tybee again!

What you find inside is a nicely appointed restaurant with a beautiful long bar which we highly recommend you eat at. Our bartender Christy was amazing. But more about her later, right now I will talk about the food. We started with the margarita scallops, which was chunks of seared scallops soaked in margarita on toasted wonton chips with a black bean corn, salsa and drizzle with a local aioli, YUM! We also had their fried green tomatoes, which came with apricot horseradish sauce and aoli. Kiki had the catch of the day, which was a grilled piece of grouper atop mediterranean couscous and a medley of mediterranean vegetables. I had the prime rib, which came with lobster Chili Churri butter and a brandy peppercorn sauce. Both entrees were amazing. Now back to our bartender Christie. To say that she wears many hats is an understatement. She greeted us when we sat at the bar, by the way, did I mention that you can reserve seats at the bar? She described the menu items in a way that you only expect to find from a waiter in the finest restaurants in the world. She addressed any and all allergy issues relating to these dishes all the while she is making drinks for patrons at the bar as well as handling the service bar for all the patrons in the restaurant. Without missing a beat, she takes our order.Buses plates from other customers and continues to make drinks for everybody in the restaurant. At this point I think I told her her new nickname should be the Flash. At one point during our dinner, we saw her serve a bottle of wine to another couple at the end of the bar. Her presentation was that of a full wine sommelier with pouring a taste for approval while showing the label of the bottle as she waited for the customers approval then pouring the glasses after approval was given. List of hats: Bartender Bar Back Waiter Sommelier Entertainer Influencer to a new generation of food service, people on Tybee island. ( She babysat the owner of Bubba Gumbo's.) Lest I forget she is also the General Manager of the restaurant. She is someone that I would like to call friend after meeting her once and eating at her restaurant only once.
