Observed several food separation violations within the walk in cooler. Ready to eat produce was stored directly underneath raw ground corned beef hash on the rack. Observed raw whole cut steaks on speed rack stored below raw ground burger, pork and corned beef hash. Observed raw fruits and vegetables to be stored on the ground in the walk-in cooler. Observed flooring throughout the kitchen to no longer be smooth, non-absorbent, and easily cleanable. Observed holes in the walls in the kitchen next to the ware washing machine. read more

I was looking for a breakfast / brunch place closeby before going to Tybee Island beach. We got there around 10am and probably ended up waiting outside in the sun for about 45 minutes. We got the omlette Luigi and a waffle. The food was about average diner food. It gives 1960s rustic diner vibes. Service was fairly quick. It has a convenient location but long wait time. I'm seeing other reviews to get there by 8am. I might come back if there isn't a line but it isn't worth standing in line. read more

I rarely leave negative reviews, but this experience was disappointing enough that I feel compelled to share it. When we arrived, the business was nearly empty, so it certainly wasn't a matter of being overwhelmed or too busy. As soon as our group of four walked in, we were met with an attitude that was rude, dismissive, and incredibly patronizing. We were treated as though we were an inconvenience for wanting a table. As someone who has worked in customer service for 13 years, I understand that everyone has difficult days. However, having a bad day is never an excuse to take it out on customers. Professionalism and basic courtesy should be the standard. The way we were spoken to left us feeling uncomfortable and unwelcome. It was disappointing to see a business operate this way, especially when hospitality and customer experience should be a priority. I sincerely hope management takes a closer look at how customers are being treated, because no one should leave feeling the way we did. read more

We watched them prepare some of the most sub-par omelettes and eggs we've ever seen. How this place hasn't been shut down by DPH is a miracle of science. For what we paid for this breakfast you'd expect more in return. I had a lukewarm but tasty waffle with a side of bacon. Bacon not fresh. Precooked sitting on a warming plate near flat top grill. My wife had scrambled eggs that were par cooked(gross) by someone who had no business cooking eggs. Chicken fried steak that literally could've been prepared better in a microwave. No flavor and no care in preparation. The levels of cross-contamination and overall lack of concern by management. I'd highly advise staying away. read more

We dined at the Breakfast club on our first trip to Tybee. The food was fabulous. We had the signature Omelette and our over easy eggs were cooked perfectly. The staff were very friendly and the manager came over to our table. He was very nice and we found out he previously worked for the celebrity Chef that had the restaurant impossible show. Food was delicious, people were awesome and it was a funky environment. We enjoyed it all. We sat at the bar and got a front row seat to watch them cook. The man making the hash browns was a machine, perfection every time! My husband got the cheeseburger and hash browns and I got the PMS omelette and the pecan waffles. All was exceptional. We came here for breakfast two different days during our stay on the island. It's the closest breakfast place within walking distance of our hotel. They do get quite busy in season and folks line up outside to wait for a table. Both days, however, we came early enough and did not have to wait, The key is to get there before 8 am. They have a wide menu with lots of egg choices, waffles, French toast, etc in combo with different meats etc. The first day we came we both had their two eggs with choice of meat special. We each ordered our eggs (mine are well done/his are soft). I got corned beef hash and he chose sausage. Both dishes came with a choice of toast (white, wheat, or Rye). We both got rye bread. And grits with butter. The breakfast was quite good. Portions are large. The second time I got a bacon and egg breakfast sandwich. He got two eggs no meat and it came with toast and grits. Even with the fees -- there was an egg surcharge, the first time, too -- and taxes, we still felt that their prices were reasonable. And the server was very good even though she was covering a lot of tables on her own. The place isn't fancy but they do have anything you could want breakfast wise. A couple next to us were having chicken fried steak with gravy and eggs and she was having an egg burrito. They also got sliced tomatoes instead of grits. It's a good place to come for a filling and relatively inexpensive breakfast. read more

This place was an awful experience for our family vacation. The only somewhat decent part of the experience was the mediocre food you could find at any diner in the US, and the engaging playlist. However the music was blasting throughout the restaurant to the point where I wondered if the cute old couple in the corner could actually hear themselves speak. The service and organization of this establishment was the most chaotic scene I've seen in my life. I worked in restaurants for many years from a host, to a server, to lead bartender, and I know the difference between being understaffed and extremely busy and simply people not knowing how to run a restaurant. The host would quote a wait time but not take your name to document the order of customers. They would direct you to go outside with the others waiting for a table. Then they would come out and ask who was there first. Then once we sat at a table, the server did get our drink order within 5 minutes of being seating. However, a table behind us was sat and had their order taken by the same server before ours. It took 30 mins to have her come back and take our order. While we ate our food I notice a different table to the side of us who was sitting well before us, and the same server had to come over and apologized that their food was accidentally taken to a different table. They did offer to discount their order. The water had the strongest sulfur taste I had ever experienced from a restaurant. Originally I gave them the benefit of the doubt that it was probably safe. Until I saw the safety inspection review below. While all of this was unpleasant the worst was saved for last. We asked for the bill and she brought over the mobile POS. The automated tip percentages were set to 25%, 30%, 35%, and 40%. This was completely absurd and comical. Needless to say, we will not be going back. When we ordered my husband asked if he could add onions to his omelet and he was told no because there was no button to add it on the new system. Food was average, service was slow. read more

I wish I would have read the reviews before eating here. There was a line out the door the day before so we expected it to be fine. Nothing was fine. When we first sat down, the booth had an odd smell and the booth was barely hanging on. We watched one server pile plates on top of each other to serve to with food on them. So some food was touching the bottom plate of the other food. We watched one of the cooks pour a jack and coke while he was waiting to cook more food. I got the French toast and sausage. The toast was fine but the sausage was gross. Even if you're desperate, don't go to this place. Eggs are good but wasn't cooked exactly how I asked, grits are good, toast is toast anywhere, my sons waffle looked decent. We had a few other things that wasn't awful as well. One entree arrived at the table, the other entree was never relayed to the kitchen. Afrer 3 more attempts to put the order in, we finally got the 2nd order. The owner was standing right there during our order confusion and never came over to apologize or make it right. The food was sub par, nothing like the previous owner served. I'm so disappointed with this visit. I'm not sure what has changed, as I have eaten here 2 times over the last few years. This visit I ordered the pecan waffle and my mother ordered the French Fingers, both with bacon. We received our food basically on small plates. The waffle was ok but the bacon was firm and tasted like it was just reheated from day(s) before. It was not crispy as freshly fried bacon should be. I was so very disappointed. The waitress was efficient and the guy that picked up our plates asked how was everything. When I said, "just ok". I sent half of my waffle and 3 pieces of bacon back. The food was mediocre. Ordered Windjammer and the Florentine. Both had no flavor. The Florentine was listed as diced potatoes, but it came with shredded. When I asked the waitress, she said they must be out of diced and used shredded. The windjammer had generous portions of hash browns, but it was bland. The homemade sausage was just "good." The service was good. Realize you will stand outside until they bring you in for a table. Seems like Tybee Island could use a really amazing breakfast place.
