The Sandbar was our favorite stop while on vacation in Dennis. The staff were friendly and recommended we grab a beer inside during our short wait for a spot outside. We got quick service at the bar despite it being a full house, and our wait was much quicker than expected. We got the spicy Hawaiian pizza with GF crust and me and my husband agreed that it was one of the better gluten-free pizzas we've had. The oysters from the outside bar were great too and shucked right in front of us. The views from the patio are stunning and the live music was super fun!

Great atmosphere! Fun spot right on the water with the best outdoor seating to enjoy sunset. Enjoyed a delicious fried clam platter and fish and chips along with some drinks. Service was quick and attentive despite a large crowd. A summer time staple in mid cape!

Had some beers here one night. It was a pretty good time. It does get super crowded as it gets late though.

Supper tonight at Clean Slate Eatery in West Dennis could not have been better. We haven't enjoyed…read morea finer meal on Cape Cod. The chefs are true artists, imagining and executing haute cuisine with skill, precision, and personality. We opted for the optional caviar starter course, which was brilliant. The caviar, served with Pringles potato chips and tangy egg salad, was an exquisite introduction to the tasting menu. The house-made sourdough focaccia with homemade butter may have been the best bread we've eaten. The dayboat scallop was pan-seared and paired with ginger whey-poached pork belly, Anson Mills Carolina Gold lobster congee, and a sake-soy veil. It was incredible. The peas and carrots course of Thumbelina carrots, sweet peas, whipped coconut, and carrot-mint consommé was unlike anything we've experienced before. It was inspired. The fluke was sorrel brioche-crusted and accompanied by razor clam escabeche, sauce romesco, and sea beans, was magnificent. The chef spoke about harvesting the local sea beans himself, and the razor clam purveyor happened to be dining alongside us. It was a memorable and distinctly Cape Cod moment. The intermezzo was a cranberry membrane filled with a refreshing burst of vodka, and delightfully cleansed the palate. The optional foie gras bonbon, encased in milk chocolate, was another triumph. We agreed we would have missed out had we passed on it. It was one of the finest foie gras bites we've ever enjoyed. The tri-tip sirloin course featured American Wagyu with sweet onion soubise and toasted ramp-and-vinegar gnocchi. "Amazing" hardly begins to describe it. The Humboldt Fog cheese course was dramatically torched tableside and served with blueberry shallot jam, toasted milk bread, and smoked almonds. Sublime, artistic, and utterly delicious. The included dessert course featured caramelized white chocolate, lychee, pink guava sorbet, macadamia toffee, white chocolate gel, and olive oil sponge. It was unbelievably good. An optional dessert accompaniment, ordered by every diner, was a layered chocolate, shortbread, and banana tart topped with caviar was a playful and fitting finale. The charming atmosphere, attentive staff, and excellent music had diners on their feet dancing between courses. We finished with their homemade Mignardises and were given a lovely packet to take home which included a homemade scone. This restaurant is wildly civilized. Many courses were served on beautiful handcrafted pieces from Scargo Pottery in Dennis collaboratively designed by the chef and the talented Scargo artist Tina Holl. I offer only praise and gratitude for the extraordinary food, welcoming atmosphere, talented and artistic staff, and a dining experience that reminds us how exceptional Cape Cod dining can be. Clean Slate delivered one of the most memorable meals we've had anywhere on the Cape.

All the road work going on MA 28 was also incentive, as we could get there without traveling on it from where we were staying. We were also told several times to get their grilled breads (if you weren't gluten-free, of course). The complimentary coffee in the waiting area was a nice tough as well. It certainly lived up to the recommendations. We had maybe a 3 minute wait for a table on a busy Friday morning. There were lots of specials on the blackboards on the side wall. Coffee came out quickly; it was piping hot and mellow, with very frequent refills. I did try the bread, an apple-cranberry, grilled/toasted medium with a pat of butter for extra yum. I opted for the hash Benedict with fruit instead of potatoes. I got potatoes by mistake anyway, but they immediately brought over the fruit. The eggs were perfectly cooked, the Hollandaise was flavorful, and the hash was crisp and not greasy at all. Now it's my turn to be a good friend and pass the recommendations forward for others.

Marie & Tia steered us towards the homemade breads including a pear raspberry slightly grilled bread that was the perfect combination of fruit flavor to fresh bread. My partner and I stopped in looking forward to a nice breakfast and a few mimosas. We sat at the bar and were served by Laurie. She brought our first round of drinks, took our food order, and our meals arrived shortly after. However, once our food came out, our glasses were empty, and despite several opportunities to check on us, Laurie repeatedly walked by without acknowledging us or asking if we needed anything. I understand restaurants get busy, but I waited about 10 minutes hoping for a refill or even a quick check-in, and neither happened. As someone who enjoys having something to drink with my meal--even if it's just water--it made for a frustrating dining experience. Eventually, I asked for the check and boxed up my waffle because I no longer felt comfortable staying. What made the experience more disappointing was that Laurie appeared to be spending plenty of time chatting with other customers while we felt completely overlooked. I don't know if our age played a role, but it certainly felt that way. There's a common assumption that younger customers don't tip well, but I always take care of servers who provide good service. As someone born and raised on Cape Cod, it's disappointing to have had two negative experiences at a local establishment I wanted to enjoy. Most breakfast spots and bars in the area are known for their welcoming atmosphere and attentive service. Unfortunately, that was not my experience here. I left feeling ignored, unwelcome, and unlikely to return.

This is a really appealing, intimate, mom and pop (and summer help waitress) place. The hostess/ front of house boss, who was operating from the bar of this 10-12 table location, was gracious and endearing (in the way that an almost overbearing host can be- that meant as a compliment). The drinks took a minute, my fiancé's salad needed blue cheese brought out as it was left off (single most off-putting thing: the waitress, I suspect language mastery being the cause of this rather than malice or willful deceit, flat out told her that blue cheese did not come with the wedge salad...but when boss lady at the bar was asked, this was quickly corrected), there was a heavy does of reggae music. All of this less than optimal. The food was very good, though I can't remember off the top of my head what I had (it's been a month). Nor did I take pics: it seemed like it'd detract from the experience. There weren't any complaints about the food from others. (So I went back and looked at the menu: potstickers as an app- pretty good; baked local seafood as the main- good, but it is what it is in that not a ton of nuance added so as to let the seafood do the talking. The portion was decent for the price. I didn't leave stuffed, but for $38, very reasonable.) All in all, the first visit merits a second visit next year (as the website says they are temporarily closed to seek new management).

We found the burger to be over done and not medium. The pear flatbread was the best thing we ordered. Cape cod salad was actually very good too. I can't speak to the actual restaurant because we ordered to go. Perhaps that's why the food wasn't as great as I read about. We will try again next summer when we return.
