Had a nice breakfast here on Thursday with my spouse & our niece. The service was fast and friendly. In spite of the vacation week, they weren't too busy. Everyone enjoyed their food, though my niece was a bit picky and sent her bacon back for being too crispy (it was not crispy but she's also 13). By the time the plate of eggs and bacon came back to the table, she had finished her waffle and was pretty full. But she did her best to eat all of the bacon and most of the eggs. My spouse said his burger was good and I was impressed by the large portions for the bad hombre benny. The carnitas tasted a little off, but it was masked well by the sauce and yolks. The eggs were poached just right and the tamale cakes were a yummy swap from the usual English muffin. Our drinks never wanted for refills and our server was the perfect balance of attentive while also leaving us alone enough to have long conversations. We had brunch here with our rowdy toddlers a few months ago, and I remember the waitress was so kind and patient and every time we're shown some grace in public, it just always goes a long way, you know? Despite being extremely busy (it's a few miles from Disneyland) on a Saturday morning, the service was quick and polite. Great hole in the wall place. Wow! It was so good. I ordered a cali-chicken omelet with potatoes and there were so many potatoes. It was awesome! The cali-chicken omelet was so tasty, too. And it came with biscuits and gravy as well. My husband got the grizzly (salmon patty) Benedict with potatoes and with homemade banana nut bread. Yum yum. What a meal. He loved it! The cook serve that egg separate because he apparently didn't want it to run all over. My niece ordered the fajita skillet with steak and it looked delicious which she said it was. My mom ordered the three eggs with sausage and toast and she thought it was really good for being very basic. When you get there, it looks like there's a long wait, but the movement is great. This was the April selection by my buddy for our monthly breakfast meetup. Neither one of us had ever been here, but thanks to YELP, that was how he picked it. It will be my turn to pick in May and I'm going to have to choose something really good to compete with The Scratch Room. This review should be a 4.4-star rating, just FYI. We usually go during the week to avoid weekend crowds, especially near the Disneyland area. There was plenty of seating available when we got there, most of the crowd looked very local, not tourists. Kind of hidden in this little strip mall, it could be easy to pass by without seeing it from the street. But please, be sure to pay attention when driving because you don't want to miss the opportunity to go here. I had the chicken fried steak and eggs, along with the house potatoes. I also had the biscuits and gravy as my bread choice; my buddy had the chicken and waffles. Coffee, juice and waters. My friend really liked the waffle, said it had a light, airy texture but it held together very well under the syrup and the chicken. Mine was very good overall. I felt that the gravy needed a bit more pepper and there was not a lot of sausage in the gravy, but the taste was still good. I had asked for my potatoes to be extra crispy, but they were not. Please see my pictures, there was no char on the potatoes, the onions or the bell peppers. But I would love to give them another chance at that. There are several things that I saw on the menu of interest, and I am excited to explore more of their menu offerings. There were a couple of minor things that stopped me from making this a 5-star review. For it not being busy, it did sometimes take longer than it should to be checked up on. Ran out of water and coffee a couple of times. My friend had asked that for his water that he wanted a full glass of ice. When he got it, there was barely any, happened on the first refill too. He finally asked for a separate glass of just ice. They brought my biscuits and gravy out way before any of the other dishes came out, almost 10 minutes before. I like to have everything brought all at once, so it was cold by the time I got the rest of my breakfast. Would you want your sourdough toast 10 minutes before the rest of your breakfast, because I don't. And I didn't want to start until my buddy had his breakfast in front of him. But overall, I really want to come back, and I could see that with a couple of minor tweaks, that I could visit here on a regular basis. It was our first time here, unfortunately The food was as bland as the service. The potato's are burnt to a crisp. Server didn't check on us, took forever to even get greeted. Took me some work to even get a refill on coffee. At the end of our meal, they didn't drop off the check; they handed it to me and stared at me , without them leaving-pressuring me to pay right away, there fore not allowing me to even look at the check before paying. I haven't been back since before covid so I had high hopes and not did they deliver! I came for breakfast with my husband. We got there around 9am and didn't have a wait! But there were multiple parties that came in within 10 minutes to fill the restaurant. I want to start by saying the hashbrowns are life! They were so perfectly crispy without being burnt or oily. I could've ate 3 orders alone and been happy. The hungry man is definitely enough for 2 people to share. My husband was happy and very full from his corn beef hash Benedict. The biscuit and heavy is more flavorful than I remember it to be so that was a pleasant surprise. The french toast was bland and I wanted more cinnamon flavor but it it was good. The service was so nice and attentive, even when they got busy. Prices have gone up but I'm not surprised. Everything has gone up but I still feel this is a little hidden gem.
