My only complaint is that there is not one of these ice cream shops closer to my house. We were in the area for dinner and decided to try this place out knowing it was a local place from Tucson. The staff was very friendly and allowed us to sample multiple flavors. I ended up getting a scream sundae with butter cake as the base, (butter cake is one of my all time favorite cakes). I had the bourbon brittle Ice cream with hot fudge and maple soaked walnuts. It was absolutely delicious. My husband had a scream sundae with almond joy licious ice cream with a cookie base and hot fudge. He loved it. You can tell that the ice cream is very natural and high quality and the prices do match that. You pay for what you get. We will make the drive again soon because I want to try the ice cream nachos. read more

There is a reason why it is called The Screamery; your wallet will be screaming the whole time! We ordered two single scoop hot fudge sundaes and the bill was over $12. Serving portions are small and they are skimpy with the toppings, of which cost 50¢ to a $1 more per topping. They could have redeemed themselves with spectacular ice cream but alas, the ice cream itself was disappointing. The texture was grainy and lumpy while the flavor was bland. Overall, a poor excuse for an ice cream shop. Definitely will not be returning. read more

Yay!! I *thought* I was seeing a familiar "coming soon" sign on the facade while driving by but it wasn't big enough. Now that it has opened I am very happy. We have frequented The Screamery in Tucson and we really liked what they are about. Natural ingredients, they do their own pasteurization so they have more control over the taste. The different flavors are amazing and fun! We also end up getting some form of the honeycomb ice cream. This time I had the Lavender and Honey flavor and it was great! I made it a root beer float. It's nice to have something other than Froyo in the area. We went in at 9:30 on a Tuesday. They are open until 10 on Tuesdays. 11 some other days. I've also seen the owners posting on Nextdoor so I believe they are local to us. Not sure if they kept their Tucson stores but hopefully so! I've been here twice so far and neither time disappointed!! They have so many unique flavors that it's hard to choose! The workers were all in a great mood and seemed to enjoy working there. They genuinely wanted to help you choose the right flavor you were craving and gave excellent recommendations! The ice cream is fresh and creamy. They make their own sauces - the honey butterscotch is sweet but not too rich. I had the Scream Sundae with butter cake on the bottom, 2 scoops of butter pecan, the wet walnuts, and honey butterscotch topped with whipped cream - YUM! Went here on a Friday evening around 8 after dinner at a place near by. Staff was super helpful and knowledgeable and answered all our questions about the flavors. My mom and split a flight (6 small 2oz scoops) my husband and daughter shared a waffle cone and my stepdad got a sugar cone. Both cones got Triple Play and they have it Rave reviews. For the flight: Bourbon & Bacon; Cowboy Cookie; Rough at Sea; Triple Play; Mississippi Mud and Gameday. My favorites were Bourbon & Bacon and Triple Play. All the ice cream was rich and creamy and the flavors were done very well. Would definitely go back!!! read more

This place has the best whipped cream I've tried. The line was long but we got through it super quickly. They also have a huge selection of flavors and they're all amazing. They also have super fun ways to serve ice cream; they have banana splits, sundaes, nachos (made from waffle cones and chocolate syrup), as well as just a cone or cup. This place is out of the way from where I live but it would definitely be worth it to make the long drive to The Screamery again. If you want to get any of the sundae options it's definitely worth the money! read more

This place was AMAZING! We had the Dairy-Free Fudgsicle in a Waffle cone and a Lemon-nilla in a cup. Both were absolutely delicious! If you are dairy-free like me the Fudgsicle was fantastic for chocolate lovers it's made with almond/rice milk and literally tasted like I was biting into a regular Fudgsicle! Also the Lemon-nilla was creamy and sweet but not tart in any way! I will be returning for my sweet tooth cravings. They also have another dairy-free ice cream that I cannot wait to try! read more

Wandered in last night and was AMAZED. The ice cream is incredibly creamy and rich; 24 unique flavors made with an innovative pasteurization process which uses milk from grass fed cows. On top of the amazing ice cream flavors there are sundae options including a flight of sample scoops and a huge 8 scoop sundae with a warm baked treat underneath. A single scoop is 4.50 but it's a hefty scoop and for the ingredients and process they use it's a great price. Definitely will be trying more in the future and recommend to anyone who loves ice cream. read more

The ice cream here is really delightful with the exception of the Bee's Knees selection. The staff did indeed inform us that the lavender taste was extremely strong and that it was. My wife and I had been wanting to try this place for a while so we finally made it tonight. I asked for a Cookie & Cream shake which literally took 25 minutes to make as they seemed to be having problems knowing how to make one. Once I got it, my wife had already finished her cone and my shake just tasted like melted ice cream with no thickness. This place is way too overpriced. I love the ice cream at Screamery, the sweet cream honeycomb is superb. It is more expensive than most other ice cream places I have been to, but that Honeycomb calls me back. I was very disappointed the other night. I got my usual double, but it looked skimpy to me as I go there often and I know what it usually is. I brought it up to the teenage boy, and asked if he could just top it off. I was blown away at his response. First, he said that it looks very full to him and that there was no room for more, then he says that the ice cream probably melted so that is why it looked lame! Which is it kid, full to the brim or not? I had to take a breath because I just couldn't believe it. I decided to walk away without saying anymore, but I am pissed. I don't mind paying a premium because the ice cream is good, but please teach your young staff to be more accommodating. Back again to do a review! It's been quite a while and I miss doing this... Ok, we had driven by The Screamery on several occassions and has piqued my interest. Luckily, our daughter did such a great job working on her homework on a Friday night without complaint. I rewarded her effort with a stop at The Screamery. And it was such a sweet reward that I will encourage her to work as hard on her homework next Friday too! In a word, the 3 of us give this place a solid 5! Before we left the house to go, we did visit the website first. And oh my, how impressive! Its has an extensive menu of ice cream flavors and combinations. I encourage you to visit the website to get an idea of what you may like however you may just change your mind and get something totally different. Try the waffle nachos, its waffle triangles with a scoop of ice cream and a topping of your choice. Use the waffle pieces to get the ice cream, similar to how you use nachos to scrap a bowl. The coffee toffee ice cream is to die for. I love bringing my young daughter in here for ice cream and the girls behind the counter are so kind to her and patient while she picks (she always chooses the "pink" ice cream aka strawberry). They have a kids scoop which is great bc she gets her sugar fix without a monster portion that leaves her in hyper overdrive. So happy they opened up over here, love grabbing healthy lunch at chop shop and then a quick sweet treat here. Will be a perfect stop during the hot summer time! read more
