We were very impressed with the efficiency and installation of their product. Nine years later, these vinyl sliding doors have had no issues, aside from tightening the handles once. They weren't the cheapest or the most expensive option during our research, but they've proven to be reliable and well worth the cost. Recently, we needed to repair one of the screens after our pet ran into it, and their team was very accommodating in helping us out. It was what we had expected, so I went down to their office and signed the paperwork and gave him a 50% deposit. You can save 3% if you pay by check instead of a credit card. Don't be turned off by their small office... they do a great job! We'll be back for the final section of our house (kitchen), when that time comes. We asked for a quote from My WIndow Solutions, got one that was quite good. We had explained the rationale for getting a replacement window (the leak). Parry sent over his crew right away to caulk around the existing one so we wouldn't get any incursion while waiting for the new one to arrive and get installed. Nice! For this job, I had also asked to have a custom window casing and deep windowsill built. We agreed that I'd buy the materials (a particular trim profile and hardwood species), prime them, and they'd do the cutting and installation. This collaboration worked perfectly.

Guess what, 6 months later, that new door cracked. They will not replace the door so I have to live with a cracked door since they told me it is past warranty. their solution...pay another $1500 to install a fiberglass door as a replacement. I needed a replacement interior bathroom door installed in a doorway that was an odd measurement, so I needed it special ordered and installed. 2 different businesses told me that they didn't do that kind of work (despite the simplicity) and 1 refused to give a quote and instead gave me his hourly rate without an estimate on how many "hours" it would take. This business gave me a quote right away that was competitive. The owner also advised me that he would order the door, it would arrive next day, and the day after that it would be installed. Everything happened as planned and I was satisfied with the finished product and their polite and quick service (which didn't take "hours"). I am happy to add another well deserved review.

I called SCV Glassworks and first spoke to Eric and then to Andrew. The first response from Andrew was that they would replace the windows only if we purchased them "within the last year or so." I reminded him of the "Lifetime Warranty," and then Andrew said we had to file our request with Milgard. I pointed out that we purchased the windows from SCV Glassworks, and they hold themselves out as a "Milgard Certified Dealer." Andrew then changed his story and said he'd file a warranty request to Milgard to have the windows replaced. Andrew requested that I photograph the window frame and send it to him since it contained all the warranty information he needed. I forwarded the photographic information, and he confirmed receiving all the information he needed. He said he would put in a warranty request for me. After three weeks, I heard nothing, so I sent a text to Andrew asking for an update on my warranty request. He responded that he'll check with the manufacturer, Milgard, to determine the status of my warranty repair. He'd let me know as soon as he hears from Milgard. Two weeks went by, and not a word from SCV Glassworks, so today I decided to call Milgard myself. I reached Milgard's warranty department, and they advised that they had no warranty request from SCV Glassworks. Alexander, in Milgard's Customer Service Department, advised that it was best for me to just file my own warrant request through his department. Alexander asked that I forward the photographic information of the two windows to be replaced. I sent the information to Alexander, and in less than an hour, he confirmed receipt of my information, confirmed the warranty, and scheduled the window replacement. The Bottom Line: Milgard windows are great, and their service department is the best I've ever experienced. Kudos to Andrew in Milgard's Customer Service Department in Simi Valley. SCV Glassworks: First, a denial of a warranty, then a claim that they filed a warranty request when they had not, and no follow-up whatsoever. Their "service" was the worst.
