I had one of the worst experiences at this establishment. The bar was half empty, yet the service was incredibly slow. We ordered a hookah, and after waiting over 40 minutes--well after finishing our food and drinks--we told them we no longer wanted it. Instead of understanding the situation, the staff insisted we still had to pay for it. When we refused to pay for something we never received in a reasonable time, they refused to provide a refund or even acknowledge their poor service. It escalated to the point where we had to call the police just to dispute the charge. Their policy of "no refunds on hookah" seems like an excuse to take advantage of customers. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone looking for good service or a professional atmosphere. There are plenty of other spots that value their customers--this is not one of them. read more

I just stopped by today.. It wasn't many people and easy to seat yourself.. I didn't have a big appetite so I just got the seafood. It was ok.. Nothing to rave about. It had flavor but not much seafood as I had hoped. My boyfriend got the fried fish and shrimp. I definitely enjoyed his fried shrimp and fries more than my gumbo. Needless to say. I actually purchased the Groupon for The Concert Pub North, but they quickly told me that they are connected with the boat building. They also stated that the boat building had a better menu selection than just their pub food...the fat man left immediately. Being inside the boat is kind of cool aesthetically. There are bars all around the place along with many fish mounted on the walls all around the place. The wait staff was really pleasant so kudos to the staff. I ordered the following: Chicken house nachos: big pile of tortilla chips, topped with melted cheese, pico de gallo, sour cream, jalapenos and chicken. Deluxe seafood platter: includes fried shrimp, catfish, oysters, calamari & hush puppies. All in all, portion sizes makes me weep. One piece of fish on a platter? Then you charge you a $2 for an extra piece? Bruh! Why would you call something a "deluxe seafood platter" and only have one piece of fish on it? Overall, "skimpy" is an appropriate term for this platter. Most platters at least gives you a mountain of fries! The Cole slaw tasted like licking a dandelion's toes. I took one bite of that and left it alone. Nothing really outstanding about the platter. It was fried rather well, but lacked seasoning. Where is the hot sauce? They have tabasco sauce if you ask for it FYI. The nachos lacked character. The distribution of toppings were poor. There is no excuse for localized toppings. Taste wise, the individual items that compromised the nachos were decent. The grilled chicken was not dried out, so that's a plus. I also only chomped on a few stale chips. They didn't have jalapenos added...demerit! All in all, the menu is diverse enough to bring your family. The pricing is iffy in my opinion. Odd thing happened while I dined there. There was a live DJ there playing a rather diverse mixture of music while we dined. The DJ played a popular rap song and one of the staff yelled to another staff member to "...tell the DJ to cut off the hip-hop before I unplug his equipment." Loudly exclamations of that nature, essentially reinforcing stereotypes of a particular group is kind of a customer service no-no. I do not have an issue with an owner tailoring music to their liking, but when 80% of your patrons in the restaurant while you loudly make a statement of that nature are Black, that's truly not a good look. You essentially are stating that Black dollars are good enough for you, but not that Blacks themselves... Just something to think about. I may go there again...no guarantees...but if Groupon have another great deal to the place, then I just may do it. read more

Out of towner looking for some authentic local cuisine? This is your place. I am easy to please, but I will be honest and frank when I see something I don't like. This place has everything you want. Lots of parking, lots of tables, a bar, lots of tv's, clean rest rooms, great seafood and Dr, Pepper on tap! The place even has a big fishing boat coming out of the store. We ordered 4 lbs of CRAWFISH (2 lbs mild and 2 lbs spicy), fries okra and onion rings. All came out hot, tasty and on time. Our server was sweet, generous and showed us how to eat the crawfish. **this review is only for "The Boat", not Concert Pub** I came here to use a Groupon that was about to expire. Great Atmosphere and friendly staff. Don't expect Pappadeaux food or service because this is a bar with a glorified seafood kitchen, not really a full service restaurant IMO. Food: Frozen, not fresh and def not from scratch. Oysters were TINY! The 4 fried shrimp on my PoBoy were a good size. Bread was tasty,no Cajun sauce on P'Boy. Peel and Eat shrimp were very flavorful with the perfect amount of spice. A decent bang for your buck. I am Going to take some Gumbo home so I don't loose out on Groupon dollars. They only have Tabasco, which I find odd for a Texas Seafood restaurant and Oyster bar. Completely out of All draft beer. If your coming in on a Groupon or to enjoy Cheap bottle beer or a casual quick bite, not a bad spot to visit. Do not go to this place! They have horrible customer service and piss poor management. Went here and ordered a burger and crawfish. They were out of butter and potatoes and the burger never came yet they charged us gratuity! The little girl up front had a horrible attitude and only escalated the situation. Their defense was they didn't charge us for the burger as if not charging us for something we didn't get was a favor. In addition the two booster seats they offered us were both broken. The Yacht is a little hard to find but worth the search. The Deluxe Seafood Platter is awesome. The calamari is tender and delicious, the catfish is excellent, fried oysters, need I say more. Lets not forget the shrimp that do NOT live up to their name, they were huge. I definitely suggest getting one platter to share with two people unless you're really hungry. The manager even brought me a sample of the gumbo which I also highly recommend. Unfortunately, the food itself was mediocre at best. The fish was very fishy tasting, the shrimp was actually "off." The only thing our party had that was good was the nachos (standard bar food). I ordered the oyster dinner and it came with six tiny, tiny oysters. Overall, the price is inflated for the quality of food. I have been sampling some of the seafood on the north side for several weeks and found this place almost by accident. It should have its own listing and a website too. The seafood here is much better than several of the other "boats" that I have tried. First the gumbo is really good and has big chunks of shrimp instead of the bait size used at some other places similar to this. The fried shrimp were seasoned to my New Orleans pallet's liking and the beer was ice cold. Those of you who have been going to the Captain Whatever's further west on 1960 or Rankin Road near I-45 should give this place a try. read more

I have been to this joint a few times and the last couple of times I have been there, I have been getting bad service. Awesome service and delicious food. Better than Red Lobster that's for sure and you get more for what you pay for. Steam pot and fried calamari are delicious and feed two people.
