I have been here twice. Once when they first opened and again last night. I was disappointed both visits. The food sounds so creative and delicious but falls way short. Most dishes actually have too many ingredients on the plate. The roasted bone marrow certainly did not need the chutney. Just too many flavors competing against each other. I would review the warm kale salad but it never arrived... until I asked for the check. At least they did not charge me for it. And I hope this is just a coincidence however after both visits I ended up with stomach cramps and diarrhea- which never happens to me so i can only assume, but cannot verify, that it was their food. Skip this place. Vancouver has so many good new restaurants to try instead. read more

It's nice to see downtown Vancouver WA opening up chic restaurants. The price range for the main entrées was about $50-$80... Little bit too pricey for the Vancouver market in my opinion. But if you mix and matched the extras and what is called "Yakimori" then it was definitely worth it. I was with two others and we ordered the extras and the yakimori and had six different dishes that we shared! We were full. I would definitely recommend this and their drinks are pretty good too. read more

This cozy beautiful little gem is fantastic! Perfect for a date night or a drink with friends. (A group next to us had small children with them, I really don't recommend it for family with small kids. They seemed very stressed trying to keep the kids entertained and their noise levels down ) The food is served as small plates which we LOVE because we love to try a small amount of multiple things. And wow did we ever this trip! Lol. The service was impeccable! The food was delicious! (Except the bone marrow. I don't recommend.) we will ABSOLUTELY be back! The food was okay but the atmosphere was confusing and therefore distracting, it felt like three different people with three different decorating styles each put their own elements into the restaurant. If the food was better and/or the space had a better atmosphere I would go back but currently that is not the plan. With better options near by, it just didn't make the "return" list for us. The menu has great concepts, i'd like to see both the space and food executed better. If you end up here, it's not the worst! Just not not enough to tip the scales IMO. read more

The best fancy restaurant you're going to find in this area. Food is amazing. If you don't get the ribeye skewers you are only hurting yourself. Don't do that. Order the skewers, they are amazing. Cocktails are well crafted and amazing, especially the LET ME CLEAR MY THROAT, AH HAH AH HAH. This drink is phenomenal. Service is amazing. I don't know about the food or the cocktails. Called the restaurant on Tuesday to make a reservation for Saturday. I was told they don't do reservations and wouldn't be a problem because they have lots of seating and a big bar. Well arrived at 6 on Saturday and the wait was 45 minutes. You should start doing reservations. People like me like to plan a night of not standing around waiting for a table in the freezing cold. read more

Nice cozy spot that you can get some amazing food! A bit annoying that the waiting area is so small, and that the staff seemed a bit overwhelmed when there was a large wait. But the food was really good, my favorite was the shrimp! Didn't try too much of the drinks, but the sangria seemed like it was pre made? That sort of tasted a bit odd to me. Excellent service, food and cocktails! The Sedgwick is my jam! This was my first time going here because it was highly recommended by my friends and had said they also owned Feast 316 in Camas. The menu selection was phenomenal and eclectic. They even carry empress gin! I had a reservation for 22 people where most places would up charge and put you on 1 check with an automatic gratuity. Not this place. They allowed everyone to be on a separate tab and was kind and patient with our very loud group. Will definitely recommend this place to all my friends! We just moved into our home in Vancouver and was thrilled to find a restaurant of this caliber so close by. We went for lunch because we are still avoiding the crowds that come at night while Covid is still around. The restaurant is beautiful, the service was amazing and the menu was eclectic and so interesting. We came for the yakitori and were not disappointed. I started with a lovely glass of bubbly, the Gruet, which was delicious and well priced. The chicken thigh yakitori came with a light and refreshing ginger pear chutney - wonderful! The scallop yakitori was served with a chili aioli and pickled red onion. Honestly, the scallop was so well seasoned it didn't need a sauce but the sauce was yummy too. The squash yakitori was tender and served with caramelized onions and came with lavender peppercorn honey which was so yummy we put it on almost everything. - delicious! The server recommended the hearts of palm yakitori, which I never would have thought of having, but ordered out of curiosity. It was served with a truffle scallion aioli and was out of this world!!! Then we had the house salad with an aged balsamic that was thick and rich, along with olive oil and a touch of that lavender honey that I wouldn't part with. We will be returning OFTEN but I loved this entire meal so much, I'd be hard pressed to try something else - but of course I will. My wife and I were very excited to try this new Vancouver location. That is where the excitement stopped. I will not pick on the little details, let's focus on the majors. Service was not good. We had to ask several times for everything, stopping our waiter when he would pass reminding him of what we asked for minutes ago. The food, it was not good. We order the duck fat fries and their was no salt, by the time we got the salt the fries were ice cold. We ordered grilled asparagus, they also needed salt and they were almost fresh out of the fridge raw. I ordered the carbonara, it the egg was hard boiled, they recooked the egg and it was not much better. The salt level on this dish was so high I could not finish half of it. My wife ordered a burger, half was cooked okay, the other half was raw. The waiter said "I know it was not the best" but we did not get any sort of visit from a manager or offer to make it right. I do not believe we will be putting this on the list for a revisit. It is to bad because we need a place like this in Vancouver. read more

We had falafel scotch eggs, grilled octopus, shrimp skewer, squash skewer, mushroom risotto, fried rabbit Pros Lovely atmosphere Great service All food is served immediately as it comes out Very fresh tasting food. Clearly ingredients are high quality Beautiful arrangement of food, very appetizing Very interesting food, combinations, way to serve Grilled shrimp skewer was delicious All sauces served with our meals were delicious Delicious mushroom risotto Cons Squash skewer was a bit too burnt to my taste which gave it a rather bitter not enjoyable finish Fried rabbit was very dry and was lacking salt. Rabbit in general is not a fatty meat so it only turns out well when braised or stewed. Grilled octopus was perfectly grilled but under salted Crunchy cauliflower served with grilled octopus was delicious but lacking salt Scotch eggs would have probably been great if not so under salted. My only recommendation would be to add appropriate amount of salt to the dish or have salt available at the tables for customers to use. I will be back to try other dishes read more

We had the pleasure of being welcomed by Dustin as our waiter. Dustin's service was superb. He was knowledgeable of the menu, and patient with our inquiries, he was friendly and engaging. Dustin is a very hard worker and checked on us regularly. The vibe at the Sedgwick is relaxing, yet bustling with fun music playing. We visited on a busy Friday night, yet got a great table in the restaurant area for the 5 of us. This is a great place for dinner out with friends or date night. read more

The cocktails... sweet heaven. We loved the lamb carb, baked Brie and the desserts! We ordered the bread pudding, smoked mousse, and poached pear. Very disappointing! My son had spoken so highly of this restaurant, so he was embarrassed with caliber of the entrees, it should have never left the kitchen! It was a bit overwhelming in the most exciting sense of the word - we definitely ordered too many share plates and they all landed at once, and it was like a gastronomic sensory overload. The one and only thing we didn't *love* was the duck fat fries - the gravy wasn't to our taste and I didn't get a ton of fennel flavor. Not sure what flavor threw us off - it tasted maybe like a lot of white pepper? One of my go to spots when I want some variety and well made small plates. Love the burgers, Mac and cheese, elevated tacos and so much more. Servers are always helpful and excellent. Drinks are tasty as well. It's fairly small but we haven't had any trouble getting a table when we've gone. There's a bar too in back. Had a lovely evening. The shared plates are great, we had the yakatori (palms and chicken) both were delicious. The Baked Brie was excellent. I had the cornmeal crusted trout, which was something unusual and would not cook for myself, so I enjoyed that aspect. The cocktails were well priced and made well, the highlight was the London fog, more lemony then earl grey. The service was outstanding, originally we made a reservation for six but when half our party cancelled they were understanding and accommodating. I also like the vibe of this place. One spot that could be improved was the desserts, I liked my pot de creme, but the other two desserts, a lemon meringue and Napoleon were just okay. f you like to spend a lot of money and leave hungry, this is the place for you. We were a group of 4. We split our bill, it was $65 each. Not too bad, except I had to come home and eat. We ordered 4 portions and were expected to share portions with 4 that were only suitable for 1. Rib eye steak skewer had 3 small bits of meat. Same with pork belly skewer. $10 -25 per portion. Then we ordered a burger, that we are expected to share. Not a single "shared plate" was enough for more than 1 person. The prices for each plate were as much as a whole meal elsewhere. I just tried this restaurant last night and I was very pleasantly surprised! There was so many things I wanted to try on the menu but we just couldn't eat it all! All of the food we had was absolutely delicious the service was excellent and the variety was good too. The inside is decorated very nice it's calming and soothing to sit in this restaurant I definitely would recommend going here and trying all of the wonderful things on the menu. I think our favorite thing was the Pork Cracklin! I've had it at restaurants before but it has never been as good as I had it here. read more

This is a really ambitious menu and the folks in the kitchen are doing an amazing job! (retired chef here). We had mussel salad, cracklins, rabbit, bone marrow/escargot, Scotch egg and desserts (bread pudding and 'deconstructed' lemon merengue pie), plus cocktails and wine. Staff was both very friendly and very professional. The 'Greyhound 75' was the best original cocktail I've had in a while. The mussel salad really didn't need the peaches but was very good. The 'cracklins' were GREAT bar food and a totally 'out there' menu item for fine dining. The Scotch egg was only like the 'real thing' in appearance but delicious. I loved the rabbit. Others have called it dry but the excellent sauce was an asset. I think all farm raised rabbit tends to be dry, but the light panko breading is a great idea. Order it if you want to try rabbit! Escargot with bone marrow was the hit of the night! Could've eaten a double order. The desserts were really fabulous. So happy to find a place like this in Vancouver. The vibe was alright but I wasn't really sold on any of it. The food was a little too rich for me and the drink I ordered had activated charcoal in the recipe listed below the name but actually came with bits of charcoal floating in it and I was not a fan of that. Pricing was fair based off of the ingredients and preparation of the dishes but again it was a little too rich and only came out as decent to me. I loved the fried rabbit and crispy pork cheeks but again, a little too rich and greasy for me. With all of that said The Sedgwick did a great job providing the services the offered! Sedgewick is a treat to our community. My partner and I were finally able to visit this restaurant (with high hopes) and they did not disappoint and in fact exceeded expectations. We came mid-week and they were not crowded which provided a very laid back and relaxed experience. The service was outstanding from start to finish which was so refreshing and enjoyable. Then the food started coming out, one dish at a time, which was a nice experience. Each dish was delicious and a "wow". We ordered cauliflower, steak bites, shrimp, mushroom risotto, squash, chicken....each and every one was so good. No complaints whatsoever. We will be back.
