Pros: -Super friendly staff who are quick to serve you despite the long lines and wait times -The CORN BREAD. This was a favorite in our group because unlike many locations in So Cal, this one was NOT overtly sweet. Instead the corn bread was salty. The texture was perfectly crumbling in the inside yet firm with a crisp slightly burnt crust on the outside. Add some honey and butter and this was DELICIOUS. -The cinnamon butter. The waffles came with a delicious cinnamon butter that added a great flavor to the waffles. -The Chicken Wings. They were perfectly cooked making them piping hot when they arrived and were simple but delicious. Cons: -Dry Food. The fried chicken breast, red snapper, and waffles all tasted over cooked. The chicken breast was butterflied so it was very thin, not like a traditional bone in breast. I think this led to a drier chicken. Similarly, the red snapper tasted dry around the edges of the fish where it was thinner. Lastly, the waffles were a mix. The cinnamon butter added a great flavor yet the texture of the waffles were dry meaning I added more syrup and butter to soften them up.

By comparison, the French toast were super soft and fluffy but lacked the cinnamon flavor. Final thought: -Overall, I would defiantly recommend this place for the great hospitality and great options. Not everything is a hit but if...

I love to come here and eat before I get my day started in Los Angeles and this time I went before hitting up LAX. It was a bit frustrating that they wouldn't seat us before our guest arrived especially since we had somewhere to be by a certain time. We decided to just forget about our guest and get seated since we were starving in a small, four person seated area but once our fourth showed up it was so uncomfortable and tight! I have been trying to be good so I didn't want to get anything super sweet, deciding to go with just eggs, potatoes, turkey bacon and toast. I love that they give you four pieces of bacon and I especially love that they have non pork options! The bacon was cooked crispy just the way I like it but the potatoes were not good to me at all. I'm not sure if they douse them with ketchup or not but they had a red tint to them. I will continue to come here to get some great non-pork breakfast. The service is always super friendly and nice. I love a good family oriented and operated place!

I got "The Big Spoon" and the name is absolutely appropriate. I didn't finish it all. Standouts? Those chicken wings! The waffle was also very good. They're a think waffle, as a heads up! Atmosphere-3/5 It's a laid by diner. Old school R&B music was on, the tv was playing and it was nice vibe. Totally compliments the comfort food that you're eating. Service- 5/5 Service was fast, very courteous and personable. I had to spend a certain amount to use a coupon I had and the sever was very supportive and accommodating. Value- 5/5 Totally worth it. No comments on the value. I'll be back! Opportunities for Learning- 3/5 This is a typical "southern," soul food restaurant. Not much to learn, but much to enjoy! As a note. They are James Beard award winners, so that was really cool to lean.

Popped in today for fairly traditional breakfast. Went with an extra sausage link which I didn't touches I overestimated my hunger. Smh The grits, sausage link, and eggs were made to order- another great experience. I didn't get the name of the main server, as there were more than one who actually helped out. Today was more of a team like effort-which was fine. The last thing of note is the timing when you descend on this business. If you're going to come after the morning rush, you're absolutely going to be good to go whether you are solo as I was or in a larger party. Count on a wait time of about 5 to 10 minutes max. On the other hand, if you're doing a real morning breakfast in a true morning time slot, be prepared to wait a while, and make that reservation via Yelp as soon as you arrive. And during the morning rush, even coming by yourself won't necessarily mean you're going to be able to bypass any lines and go straight to the bar-as I found that out on a recent visit. All in all another great experience.

Pretty consistent neighborhood restaurant. The turkey chops were good but cooked a little too hard for me. Grits were nice and thick. Waffle tastes like it was made with wheat flour and was a bit rubbery. Eggs were prepared well. Coffee is a little mild but hot. Food was hot. Service was fast. We were charged for one meal x2 but thankfully caught it before paying.

I haven't been here in a couple of years. I decided to stop in this morning. The food is just outstanding- if you're looking for a good southern breakfast. This is the place to definitely visit for those of you that are visiting out of the country for FIFA . I'm telling you this is the place to come and have a wonderful delicious down home southern breakfast. I had scrambled eggs, egg whites with spinach and a little cheese the wings - fried wings. They were excellent not too greasy. The home fries potatoes were cooked to perfection. They were better than mine and I know mine are good. Pancakes were nice and hot. The Service was outstanding. I highly would recommend this place. For those of you who live in Los Angeles or in the neighbouring area please stop in. This is a wonderful place. I will tell you it's crowded. It is a little crowded but it's worth the wait! Bon appétit!

So I had the fried turkey chops, grits and scrambled eggs with cornbread. The turkey chops were absolutely delicious and seasoned just right. The grits were awesome (butter and pepper; no sugar!). The scrambled eggs were cooked to perfection, soft but done just right. The orange juice was real, just a tad sweet. My wife had a polish sausage sandwich and my daughter had a breakfast bowl. The aromas at our table were amazing! I'm getting hungry all over again as I pen my memories there! The restaurant is cozy, service is superb and very friendly. The prices hit just above $$. The Serving Spoon is billed as an urban eatery and that is the vide fo sho! Parking is limited because it's shared, but some spaces are generous in size. There are a couple of handicap stalls. I thoroughly enjoyed my time there with my wife and our daughter. Our hostess has been there over 20 years, she must've started working at the age of 5 because she seems to be in her 20s! She is fantastically fun. We all agreed that The Serving Spoon is worthy to be elevated to our favorite breakfast spot.

I finally tried this spot...on Easter. But still waited about twenty minutes. It's a no for me. There were several red flags for me. But the number one problem was spending 55 dollars( before tip) for breakfast for two and it being below average. My daughter got a waffle and bacon. I've never seen her leave bacon on the plate. She is a bacon fiend. She left bacon on the plate. They give you big vats of fake syrup warmed in a plastic bottle. I thought we had moved on from diabetes high fructose poison syrup. It's a disservice to the Black community to still offer this. Know better do better. They could save lives by using real maple syrup. I'd rather pay more for syrup with nutrients. Now the real kicker.... I ordered two sides, catfish nuggets and grits. The catfish nuggets were 15.95. I ate a few. Took most of them to go. On the way home, I snack on the catfish. I get to the last nugget..bite in....its chicken. Firstly...I do not eat chicken. Secondly....how the hell? The whole experience made me sad. My pockets and my belly.

My breakfast today was so good! I'm glad to give The Serving Spoon an updated review. There are so many people who love this place, I figured the first time, I must have gotten the wrong thing. Ordered takeout. I had the Little Spoon and opted for French toast (4 pieces), friend chicken (6 party wings), and eggs scrambled medium with cheddar cheese. I like how customizable their plates are. Eggs were cooked perfectly. French toast was fluffy, flavorful, and not dry. And that fried chicken was crispy, the batter on it had a nice crunch. I would have liked a bit more salt for my own liking, maybe hot sauce, but it's still good fried chicken.

What a gem. I came on a busy Saturday with a few yoga friends. I had the shrimp and grits for the first time, and it was delicious. The fried shrimp was full flavor. There was a gravy sauce that gave the grits amazing flavor. I was super happy. It's a small spot and the wait can be long, so get here early. Always excited to support black owned businesses.

The only reason I'm giving this place one star is because it doesn't give me the option of selecting no stars. It took an hour and a half to be seated then 40 minutes to receive our food. Once we received our food it was room temperature the butter did not even melt and the waitress was rude wish I could remember her name the chicken was in seasoned the French toast and waffles were warm I'm over this place PLEASE DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME ! 2 thumbs down read more

My son and I came in for the first time on a very busy Saturday morning, the wait was an hour and they asked if we'd Ins sitting at the bar. We said no problem whatsoever, this nice Woman asked us to hang on and she literally went to the bar where there were two open seats but not together and asked the patrons to move down a seat so that he and I could sit together. Our waiter came over took or orders and it just seemed the entire staff was super friendly even though the were swamped. The service was excellent!!!! Our food came quickly much faster than we expected especially considering how busy they were. Our food was hot and seasoned to perfection. As a business owner, I know how difficult it can be to get all of your staff well trained and on the same page and this place has figured it out. We most definitely will be back!! The excellent Yelp review of this establishment is well deserved and it was easy to see why people love this establishment, I can't believe I've never heard of it prior to today.. Me and a close friend of mine were both blessed with such genuine and quality customer service. Prompt seating and a mixed crowd with a mellow ambience. Perfect spot to snatch some breakfast up before a flight. We've gone twice already and plan to head over one more time before out flight. Give the French toast and chicken wings a try. THIS PLACE IS SO GOOD I REALLY WISH I HAD THE MONEY TO FLY BACK AND FORTH FOR IT. Looks like a old diner brought back to life. Still has the older feel and makes me feel like a real adult. Don't ask. When you walk in they is an area for wait seating and front desk. You can play the lotto here can you believe it. I don't gamble though my grandmother would love that. Walk further into the place it's he typical bar seating and booths. They have a tv and you can ask them to change the channel to whatever it is you would like. That morning I went it was Trump speaking about handing his business to his son. I will not go further into what things were said but I'm sure you can imagine in a place like this. I felt right at home with the customer service and other customer making open conversation. The owner is beautiful, sweet and loving. I wanted the oxtails but they don't start serving that until after 10am. So watch out for that. I then ordered the fried catfish, yams and greens with corn beard. I could do without the cornbread was a bit dry. Everything else was amazing !! Who need tartare sauce?! Not this person. The sides were finger licking good. My cousin got the chicken and waffle and order extra sides to go. The food didn't take that long to come out. I'm sure they cook the sides in batches and the main things as ordered. You pay at the front. My meal was about 18$ I think. Cash and credit. They have a small parking lot in front. This is a must try!! You will come back again and again I promise. read more

Waiting for a friend to arrive at LAX so I stumbled on the gem and took an Uber from LAX to hear. Excellent, friendly service. Food came out fast! The French toast was so good that I did not even need syrup. Chicken wings were well seasoned and crispy. Not a good spot to linger around and work. They are busy churning out customers! read more

Great food. Wasn't too hyped on the location and parking situation but aside from that everything was perfect. I ate my waffle without the syrup because it was so flavorful without it. The fired chicken was seasoned to perfection as well. This place had the southern hospitality feeling to it and the food was mouth watering. I will come back whenever I am in the area. read more

Woke up this morning in the mood for breakfast (which is a rarity for me) so I decided to visit The Serving Spoon. I used to come years ago and order the catfish breakfast, which was perfect every time. Fried to perfection and succulent. The crowd can be a deterrent to some however it's well worth it. My experience today however was decent. I was greeted when I came in to no lines and a friendly host. Once seated at the bar, I ordered a drink and proceeded to wait 15 minutes for someone to take my order. I love the family vibe among staff however it cuts down on efficient when everyone is talking and giggling instead of taking orders. The noise levels are slightly elevated due to everyone talking over the loud stereo. I ordered a simple breakfast today Sausage, eggs, biscuit and oatmeal). Yes oatmeal. You have to love a place that serves this stick to your bones cereal. There are more premium items like Catfish nuggets, pork chops and steak for breakfast along with a host of made to order burgers. Your average breakfast will run $15-$20 bucks with the Monique Special (Half the portion) cutting that price in half on more standard fare. Overall I'd visit again. read more

Best soul food in So- Cal. I had the smothered chicken breast and it was so tender it would make your Momma proud. The collards were cooked perfectly and my candied yams were delicious. Never disappointed with anything on the menu. We've been there many times and the atmosphere always feels like family . Best of all the service was outstanding by my man Josh. Anytime we're in LA it's always our first choice after we get off the plane. GO 9ERS!!!!! read more

It is our first time in LA and as soon as we got got off the plane, we headed straight to the serving spoon. With there amazing hospitality, the serving spoon treated us to one of the best meals we've had here so far. If you're visiting LA, make sure to make a stop at the serving spoon for some good food!!! This place is awesome! Landed in LA on a Friday morning and was hungry. We hopped on Yelp for best places to eat near us and there is t was The Serving Spoon. About 11am-12p on a Friday. We arrived and were told we had a 15-20 minute wait. And that we did. We were greeted at the table by a smiling tall sista. We ordered a Justin (French Toast, eggs, bacon and breaking potatoes); 2 Sparks #1 one wish French Toast, the other with pancakes and both with catfish. The two Sparks #2 came out at the same time with piping hot fish. There was still steam coming off fish like 5-7 minutes later. The Justin was delivered minus the French Toast. Now let me tell you about this French Toast!!! Butter, vanilla, cinnamon, all the flavors were there!! The flavors were beyond mouthwatering. My only feedback is the French Toast needed just a tad more browning. Other wise perfecto!!! I highly recommend checking this place out when you are in LA. It's also Black-owned!! Sweet!! read more

After an overnight flight from Hawaii, this was #1 on the yelp list when we went looking for breakfast. It didn't disappoint. Easy, quick drive from the airport using google maps. Own little parking lot, can get tight. Shown to a table pretty quick. Nice nostalgic pictures decorating the walls. Filled with locals, probably regulars. Menu was simple, reasonably priced. Food was like a home cook meal. Not mind blowing, but good. Amongst my family we tried 3 different choices. All was great. Soul food!!! today was my first time trying this place , I alway see it packed so I told myself I'd try it one day so today was that day and I got there when they opened so I expected fresh hot foot but to my surprise the food was horrible and anyone that says the food is Good clearly has never had good fo it's def a hype waffle was hard as a brick it's not fluffy at all I'd rather eat at IHOP. The food was good. I don't necessarily have anything "bad" to say. However, after having grits at Jacks family Kitchen I realized how much I disliked them from the serving spoon. Scrambled eggs were basic, english muffin, delicious waffle and coffee is what I had. There coffee was really good. I would go back and try something different or just stick to those yummy cinnamon waffles. read more

Sunday morning breakfast before heading to LAX which is less than 10 mins away. Place was packed but got seated right away- my boy had the scrambled eggs n bacon w/ potatoes that had some flavor n green peppers. I got the everything omelette w grits n a biscuit. Solid, next time I'd ask for no butter/ margarine on the grits and would try something other than the biscuit. read more

No fuss, no muss - just good soul food - breakfast of champions before a hard day's work on Saturday. So conveniently located near my office in Culver City, we got to the restaurant right before opening. Before the workers could even turn the open sign on, the booths were fast filling up with patrons. We were lucky to be seated before there was a wait. Not going to elaborate on the good eats (view the pics, they'll tell the story), just gonna say no bite was left after we finished our meal. On our way out about an hour later, peeps were waiting out in the rain to get a seat in this establishment. That is how deliciously satisfying this place is for southern cooking! Music is bumping, so if you are looking for a quiet breakfast, this ain't gonna be it. I personally loved the vibe and devoured my food as soon as I finished snapping the photos. Definitely will be a repeat customer whenever I have to work on the weekend. It was 1983, Harold E. Sparks, a handsome young man from Hamilton, Ohio leaves the security of a foreman position at Fisher Body, a division of General Motors, and moves to Inglewood, CA to fulfill his dream of opening a soul food restaurant. "The Serving Spoon" TM The idea of providing excellent food that is not only "Love At First Bite", but a place where customers feel like family, quickly caught on. "The Spoon," as often called by many, has served customers ranging from entertainers to politicians to the neighbor next door. All in the spirit of making you feel at home, with food that's good for the soul. Harold's two of three grandchildren now own and operate the family business, and are developing "Urban Eateries" in key markets throughout the United States.

What is there to say about The Rusty Pot Cafe? Actually, there is a lot to say and I am going to get into that right now. So strap on your safety belts because we're blasting off to good ol' Inglewood. Located in the heart of Downtown Inglewood, this place truly is a gem. I first came here back in 2018 when myself and a fellow activist known as the Angry Gay Pope came to Inglewood to do an infiltration of the Scientology Org located directly across the street. I could go on and on about that place. But this review isn't about Scientology. It's about The Rusty Pot Cafe. But before we could begin our work, we decided to go grab a bite to eat. This was how I first discovered The Rusty Pot Cafe. So fast forward to 2026, I found myself back in Los Angeles. I had traveled there with a friend of mine who had some legal matters to attend to at the LAX Courthouse. We won't get into that either. So instead of sitting around in court all morning, I decided to head on over to The Rusty Pot Cafe. I ended up walking all the way from the LAX Courthouse over to Downtown Inglewood. For those of you reading this who live in LA may be asking yourself, why didn't he just take the Metro? That's a good question. By the time I arrived at The Rusty Pot Cafe I had worked up quite an appetite. One of the first things I noticed upon arrival is that they still had the same style sign hanging over the entrance. It's like one of those banner type of signs with the businesses name and phone number on it. You know the kind you'd see hanging on the side of a flatbed truck during a parade. I love it. I like how they haven't changed the sign's style. To me a sign like this ads character to the place. Plus it brought back memories from my original visit here. Upon walking into The Rusty Pot Cafe I was immediately flooded with a boatload of memories. This place was exactly how I remembered it. White walls with black tables and pieces of art hanging on the walls. It's not over the type flashy. But not a Plain Jane kind of a place either. More of a humble kind of a feel. Just enough character to make you feel right at home. Or at least to me it did. Anyways, I walked over to one of the tall tables and sat down. It wasn't long before I was greeted by a friendly, and handsome, Latino waiter. He was friendly and had the smile of a Hollywood actor. But not a phony kind of way that you see at a lot of restaurants where the servers are constantly trying to upsell you. It was that of a waiter who really cares about the customers he is serving. He didn't hesitate to bring me some freshly brewed coffee. This really hit the spot as would the burger that would soon follow. Now I'm not going to be shy when I say that The Rusty Pot Cafe has the best burger in all of Los Angeles. I know that may seem like a bold statement. But it's true. I've eaten at a lot of burger joints in and around LA and I've stuffed some tasty burgers into my belly. But none of them have tasted near as good as The Rusty Pot Cafe's burger. It puts In-N-Out's burgers to shame. The angus beef is soooooooo delicious and they cook it just the way meat should be cooked for a burger. Not well done and not rare either. But just enough so that those wonderful flavors come out of the patty and into your mouth. My oh my did this hit the spot. So did the flavor able fries that were served with the burger. Seriously The Rusty Pot Cafe's house burger is AMAZING! I highly recommend it. This burger is better than sex. The service at The Rusty Cafe is also top notch. The waiters were very attentive and are always checking on the customers to see if any of us needed more coffee or water or another margarita. Hold it. They don't serve margaritas here. You got to go to Los Amigos for that. But I think you get the idea. I really dig this. One thing I hate is when you go somewhere to eat and the servers let your drink go empty. Then you got to flag someone down in order to get some more coffee or whatever you're drinking. That is such rubbish. But that is not a problem at The Rusty Pot Cafe. Their servers will make sure your cup gets refilled before it goes empty. These folks are right on top of it. So if you have gotten to this point, I am sure you will see that I really love The Rusty Pot Cafe. I live about 3 hours north of Los Angeles and I would make a trip down there just so I can go eat at The Rusty Pot Cafe. And that's real talk. So if you happen to be in the LA area and want to fill your belly with some delicious food, I highly recommend that you make the trek over to Downtown Inglewood and check out The Rusty Pot Cafe. This was my third visit in the last month, and each experience has been excellent. On my first visit, I enjoyed a Hot Honey Lavender Latte with a pastry. My second visit was for an Iced Vanilla Latte, and today I stopped in planning to grab an Iced Honey Vanilla Latte to go. Instead, I decided to stay for lunch, and I'm so glad I did. The café is clean, inviting, and the staff is genuinely friendly. I was greeted by the owner/manager, who took the time to welcome me and check in throughout my meal to make sure everything was to my liking. That level of hospitality goes a long way. I'll admit, I was a little skeptical about ordering Mediterranean food from a neighborhood coffee shop, but that skepticism disappeared after the very first bite. I ordered the white meat chicken kabob plate with hummus, garlic sauce, rice, and pita, and it was absolutely delicious. The chicken was perfectly marinated, tender, and full of the authentic Mediterranean flavors I know and love. It was clear this wasn't an afterthought on the menu--it was prepared with care and quality ingredients. Before leaving, I couldn't resist taking home a few pieces of baklava for the family, and they were the perfect sweet ending to a fantastic meal. I'm happy to say I've found my new local spot whenever I'm craving a great coffee, breakfast, or a satisfying lunch or dinner plate. The Serving Spoon has the best "soul food" in greater L.A. Soul food is supposed to be cheap and hearty - it's supposed to contain no-frills ingredients, cost less than $15 per entrée, be served in a divey restaurant in a not-so-nice neighbourhood and be cooked by an old lady that looks like Moms Mabley. The Serving Spoon delivers on all of those (although I didn't see the cooks so I couldn't determine if they were Mableyish enough). This place seems to be a pillar of the Inglewood/Ladera Heights/Crenshaw/Baldwin Hills black community. It's always packed, and on a Sunday you can expect to wait up to an hour. The last time I stopped in for lunch on a weekday I had the oxtails (served as a special every Wednesday). They were fall-off-the bone tender, not too fatty, and nicely seasoned. On previous visits I've had the fried catfish (delicious), fried chicken (a bit disappointing...not as good as Roscoe's or Johnnie's Pastrami) and chitlins (also delicious). I ordered the collard greens and red beans and rice as my 2 sides and they were well prepared, although I would have preferred if the collards were drained before serving to get rid of the bitter broth. On previous visits I've had their black-eyed peas (outstanding) and their yams (sickeningly sweet). The oxtails + 2 sides cost $14.95, which is a fair price. Other entrees typically cost between $8.95 and $15.95, which is reasonable considering the large portions and high quality. The staff are all super-friendly and treat you like a house guest, but when the place is especially busy they can get a bit frazzled and service can suffer. The overall cleanliness of the restaurant is OK, but I would like it to be a bit cleaner (i.e. no spilt food on the floor, counters and tabletops wiped better). The restaurant is located in a strip mall with a decent size parking lot, but since the joint is often so crowded the lot is usually full. May have been a little out of our minds to try score a seat at The Serving Spoon on Super Bowl weekend Saturday morning, days after Eater posts a feature article, noting it as one of the "must eats" when visiting LA. Expecting a decent wait, by the already building crowd, I put our name down for counter or table, whichever was available first, and after about 30 minutes or so, a couple of counter spots opened up. There was a great energy in the lot where locals and visitors waited, repping their respective jerseys, as well as inside the diner itself. Now the food - So many options and combinations, and peering at the dishes the other diners are enjoying, it's quite difficult to choose. I got the Jerry (3) pancakes w/chicken wing splits with eggs sunny side up. Super fluffy pancakes, plump flavorful (all about that skin) wings and the perfect runny on those eggs. Plentiful enough to take half home for a round 2. My friend got the chicken and waffles, which also looked delicious. The food came up pretty quickly considering how packed they were, service and check-up were great, and one of the best breakfast experiences in the city. Do you love comfort food? Do you love breakfast? Do you love delicious fried goodness?! This is the place for you. I got the yelp $10 for $20 deal and decided to finally use the deal yesterday! We ordered 1) the catfish (breakfast) + grits + eggs + cornbread (our choice) and 2) chicken & waffles. The catfish was fried DELICIOUSLY - perfect crispy batter on the outside with juicy and tender meat inside. It was my first time having grits so I have nothing to compare it to... but it was very smooth and buttery. I like that they add cinnamon to the chicken & waffles - yummm. My favorite thing about this spot is the service. Everyone was SO friendly and SO inviting. As we left, the owners (the older couple I think?) asked us how everything was and asked us what we ordered and hoped they would see us back again. Everybody was GENUINELY nice and gave you genuine smiles, it felt like everybody was happy to be there. And I love their cute little signs around the restaurant with happy and inspiring quotes. Service and Chicken: 5/5. Food Options, Wait Time, and the Environment 4/5. We arrived about 10:30 a.m. for a Saturday brunch and had to wait an hour and five minutes to be seated. Many individuals here tend to stay at the tables long after they've finished their meal and paid, which has increased the wait time. Our server was extremely courteous and attentive. The menu is small and lacks a variety of selections. They are more simple and classic foods, such as pancakes and eggs. They have a parking space immediately in front, but it was full when we came, so we parked in the Baptist Church parking lot, which is permitted according to the signs. As previously stated, the Fried Chicken Breast was really wonderful. I seldom order chicken for breakfast, but after seeing so many positive reviews and so many other customers eating it, I decided to give it a try. The pancakes weren't my favorite; they tasted exactly like Denny's. Also, I wanted over-easy eggs, but they were incredibly runny, therefore I gave the kitchen a 4/5 for total experience. You just got served. And in a good way. By the Serving Spoon. Huge props to Trayvonne for the 411 about this restaurant. He's right. Yelp's right. In the words of my Aunt, "It ain't healthy and it don' matter." Cookies Combo with chicken wings and waffle is like fried crack with cinnamon crack. I was addicted from the first bite. He got a Sparks Combo with fried catfish and the same sweet waffle. I added a side of grits dripping butter more than Trayvonne sweats. For the price, it is hard to imagine any better comfort food. I stopped here last month with a friend of mine who recently relocated to the Los Angeles area. We were looking for a breakfast spot near his house before the USC game. I checked Yelp and found this gem. This place is great. My buddy and I had to wait about 5 minutes for a table (it was jammed packed with people.) The staff was friendly and they knew exactly what they were doing. Our server suggested we try the catfish and grits. Let me tell you, it was worth every penny. The food was excellent. BEWARE OF THESE THIEVES. I used my credit card after eating this mediocre food, and someone shortly after tried to steal and charge over $1,000 dollars at NIKE on MY CREDIT CARD. I try to support black-owned businesses, but scam businesses like this are never to be trusted. BRING CASH if you plan to eat here or you may be unknowingly paying for SOME GHETTO THIEF to sport new NIKES and CLOTHING. Such a shame to steal from your own community and your own hard-working people. Food is absolutely delicious. Their customer service is even better. I was just making conversation with one of the waitresses a really pretty light skin woman and i complimented her on her exotic looking skin. I was surprised she admitted that she bleaches her skin lighter using skin bleaching products that apparently beyonce and rihanna also use from some company called mansionhawaiibeauty.online I was surprised most people would not admit that but i really liked how all the staff are so welcoming and friendly.
