Visited the Snack trailer before a Father's Day hike to gran an iced coffee. Coffee was good and the 2 people working in the airstream were super nice. We ended up coming back after the hike and got a pretzel and a spinach artichoke pie. Food was exactly what we needed. Definitely coming back when we venture down to Bailey to hike

Four days in Bailey, four days of eating at The Shaggy Sheep. Is that a record? Considering how good the food is, maybe not. Our top fave was the burger: amazingly flavorful with each ingredient fresh, carefully chosen, perfect. It looks so much more simple than it is. Next to it, the hand-cut fries are spectacular and the dill-laden potato salad is bright and refined. Chilaquiles (with excellent salsa verde), fluffy French toast and a French dip with smoke-ringed brisket rounded out our dining tour, and there's still more we'd like to try. The service from both the waitstaff and co-owner Sarah was bar none and so much fun. Great people who take a lot of pride in this wonderful thing they've built. [[HIGHLIGHT]]And they don't miss a beat with the funky sheep decor![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We're fans for life.

We have passed this spot many times on the way back from hiking and skiing but have never gotten the opportunity to stop. We planned a hike near Grant today so we could stop at the Shaggy Sheep on the way back. The staff were super friendly and had great suggestions. We liked the food and would definitely love to try other dishes as well. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It a small spot inside but came in at open at 11am and we were easily sat.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] On the way out the server also gave me a to go cup of coffee. Worth the stop!

The Shacky Sheep is a fun, delicious gem. It's off of Kenosha Pass. If you blink you will miss it. The breakfast is amazing with large portions and homemade jams and hand cut breakfast potatoes. Great service! Don't leave without a homemade fried pie! [[HIGHLIGHT]]They have a fun outdoor area with picnic tables and a food track with more snack like things.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Could be a nice break spot on a road trip.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Stopped in for lunch after a day exploring Guanella pass and very pleasantly surprised to find this adorable restaurant.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The service is phenomenal (thank you Mandy!) and they food was outstanding. [[HIGHLIGHT]]We also enjoyed the garden and humming birds while we waited a few minutes for our table to be ready.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

This place more than lives up to the hype! I'm staying about a mile down the road, so stopped in yesterday and went with the burger, which is one of the best I've ever had (and I'm a burger lover). Went back today, and while I wanted another burger I needed the salad. The calabacitas didn't disappoint! Everything was fresh and delicious. They've got a bar area to the right, cocktail menu, and several good beers on tap. To the left is the gift shop (local jams, t-shirts, mugs), and further down is the main dining area. They've even got some "bar" seating right by the windows overlooking 285. Staff couldn't be more friendly! You'll feel at home right when you walk in. Pull over! You won't regret it.

Stopped at this place randomly driving from Denver to Buena Vista and glad we did. Super comfy little cafe and bar with great decor and awesome little gifts. We were immediately welcomed with the most friendly staff, they are simply wonderful! Good selection of draft beers, wine on tap, and terrific house made cocktails. I had the short rib sandwich that came with grilled onions and a jalapeño cream sauce on a brioche bun. It was tender and delicious. But the star of my meal was the hand cut French fries, so very delicious. Perfectly salted, crisp-tender, and golden brown. You'll love this little gem in the mountains!

I called them up and just simply ask them about it and they got quite defensive about everything and said she already spoke to me about it(which told me they've been having this issue). They said that I was lying and trying to con them and get with my bank. So I called my bank because they were obviously not going to refund me and they said the charges looked strange and blocked the two out of three charges. I was done with the situation because I got my money returned but shortly received text from the owner saying he expected and apology and started calling me stupid and threatening me. So needless to say I will not be returning. He continued texting me saying I must be one of those who feed off the government and I must do "this" all the time and he told me he wants me to come back up to grant so he can beat my well you know and continued texting me calling me a C word and much more I was flabbergasted at this guys customer service skills. You can get a single lunch, meats by the pound and sides. The meat, except the pork, is served sans sauce. To me, that is the true test to see how the meat stands on its own. They grill the buns for the sandwiches and will package them separately so it won't be soggy if you take it to go. We got the pulled pork, ribs, coleslaw and potato salad. It's all homemade and the sauce on the side was delicious. The spicy was good, and was tasty on the pork. If you're on 285, stop by and eat at one of the tables they have set up or take it home to share.

Not only is the food absolutely delicious, but they use premium-quality ingredients that really set them apart. The bread on their sandwiches is fantastic, and they've recently started using beef tallow for their French fries, chicken sandwiches, and wings which takes the flavor to another level. They also offer gluten-free options, making it a great choice for everyone. It's a smaller establishment, so be patient if there's a wait it's 100% worth it. The customer service is beyond what I've experienced at some high-end restaurants. While waiting for my food, I got to witness the teamwork and communication between the kitchen staff and front counter crew. These guys were hustling, working efficiently, and clearly taking pride in what they do. It was genuinely impressive to watch. Whether you're stopping in with friends and family or grabbing a meal solo, the atmosphere is welcoming, the music is great, and the overall vibe is positive and upbeat. The place is small and seemed perpetually busy, so it took a while to get our food. But, there are also lots of interesting things to look at, so it wasn't bad. And the staff was very friendly I ordered the South Carolina BBQ sandwich, and we split an enormous basket of sweet potato fries. We liked that there was frosting to dip them in. My sandwich was good and generous; I only ate half, which meant that I got to enjoy the other half at another time. At first, we were not very impressed with the fries, but we managed to eat them all, so I guess they actually were good!

Of their ciders we had, my favorite was the hibiscus cider and the peach cider, but they also have a good selection beers if ciders aren't your thing. For food we got their Ruben and their Flat-iron Steak. The Ruben was awesome, the sauce was a bit on the sweeter side, but it tasted good while drinking the ciders. But the highlight for me was their flat-iron steak, its a simple cut but it was one of the best steaks I've had in recent memory. I'm not kidding when I say it was on par if not better than a a lot of the steakhouses I've been to, it was perfectly cooked and seasoned, and comes with a solid chimichurri sauce. We stopped at Clear Creek Cidery & Eatery because we liked their outdoor seating. The weather was perfect for enjoying a nice, shaded outdoor lunch. Our group of six all ordered water for drinks. The server brought us filled glasses and then told us if we wanted any refills, we could get them ourselves from the big cooler jug outside. Um...okay. The rest of the service was pretty much the same -- apathetic. We ordered a flight of beer for the four adults at the table. It was about $30 and came with about 15 small glasses of cider, one of each flavor they served. We shared it and got to sample everything that way. I ordered the Cider Burger (medium rare) with fries as my side. It came out medium well, which instantly ruins and dries out any good burger experience. The fries were tepid as well. I don't think we even saw our server again until the end, and even then we had to wait for awhile for the check. So, overall, It was just an okay experience. If I'm in the Idaho Springs area again, I wouldn't return to Clear Creek Cidery & Eatery. I'd definitely explore other options.
