I tried to board my dogs for 5 days in August 2025 and was told that they are no longer boarding dogs 12 years and older. This policy isn't located anywhere on their website. I honestly feel and believe that they are discriminating against myself and my dogs because they recently stayed for 2 weeks in July 2025 with no issues other than having to put padding on the walls due one of my dogs being blind. I have spent literally thousands of dollars here and have been a loyal respectful customer for years. BEWARE IF YOU ARE TRYING TO ESTABLISH CARE FOR YOUR DOGS WHILE OUT OF TOWN DO NOT USE THEM. THEY MAKE THEIR OWN RULES AND POLICIES AND THEY ARE DIFFERENT FOR EVERY CUSTOMER/DOG.

There are limited amount of places who will take a non neutered male and I am so glad that this place is one of them. Their boarding process is easy as a new client. Fill out some forms and have your pet's medical records on your phone or documented. CON: THEY DO NOT ALLOW FOR EXTENDED STAYS. I want to leave my pile of fur and claws there for a month, visiting every two weeks and the representative stated that "The best you could do is leave him for two weeks and then take him for two days and then bring him back for another two weeks." Suggestion: I wish they would allow vets to fax over or email over pet medical records. I went to actually check this place out today in person and it seems like there is a lot going on. It definitely feels like it is in a rural part of Lexington, if that makes sense. I do not like the back roads I have to take to get here. Tates Creek also bisects the road to this location, but it is down like two lanes (one coming and one going).

We immediately gave him a bath and applied tick and flea medication we rushed out and bought and let him just rest while my son cried thinking his dog was sick or not going to be okay. He was the opposite of his normal self when we picked him up. Mac is a very happy, healthy, loving, and energetic 1 1/2 year old pup who is full of love and life. This was after we had the worst day traveling back from Florida and were told we had until 8:30 pm to grab him when we got back which we have text messages from her employee stating that and when we arrived to get him no one was onsite and the dogs were just howling and crying. It took numerous texts and calls to finally get some girl and her boyfriend to arrive and give us our Mac. I had done a lot of research and had a 40 min call with Christine months before boarding Mac there and we text daily while gone on our trip. She knew this was our and his first time being away from each other and him being boarded and to get my dog back in this condition and he isn't acting like himself at all is just devastating. I would not recommend ever to anyone at all especially for a tiny pup. 0/10.

Could not get Dibby in 2 weeks ago, for eye ulcer, even though eye issues should be taken care of immediately because it CAN become very serious very quickly. I was forced to go to another vet in nearby town. Dibs is not better, so did get in to Dr Long yesterday, (only because there was a cancellation). I told office when I made appt that I also needed Dr to also 1. listen to his heart, as it seems to be beating harder all the time and Dibs has a Murmur and is old. VERY IMPORTANT! and 2. just check a tiny cyst that doc had seen before...He did one eye procedure, and told me Dibs needed another procedure on Tues. Did NOT listen to Dibs's heart, said he would come back into exam room, if I was willing to wait. I said ok. Did not check his tiny cyst. 10 minutes later, staff tells me to leave, that Dr is already behind on appts. I said that's not my problem. They said heart could be listened to on Tuesday (!), and still charged me for full exam even though exam was not completed. Also did not fill his eye pain meds. I came back today to pick up meds, and they would not give to me, because I wanted to put its' fee on the Tuesday charge. I waited over 10 minutes and the office mgr said she "could not let me out the door with meds without Dr's approval", even though they never finished yesterday's exam but were happy to charge me full exam fees. I finally walked out and will find another Vet. Disrespectful and rude. Office needs to stop accepting new clients when they can't or won't take care of their old clients. Dr needs an associate vet, and better organized office. Office Mgr needs to realize she has a job because of the clients.

This (chilly!) morning we had a really special opportunity to tour Kentucky Equine Adoption Center…read more(KyEAC) as part of Horse Country's community-based event: Meet the Neighbors. I'm SO happy this annual program has returned post-COVID! KyEAC is the largest all-breed equine rescue in Kentucky, situated on 72 rolling acres on Catnip Hill Road in Nicholasville. Right now they have 48 horses available for adoption, with 4 more on the way, and a waitlist a mile long. At any given time they have ~50% thoroughbreds, plus wild/feral horses, and horses from the strip mines of Eastern Kentucky. As a 501c3 nonprofit organization, part of their mission is to find the perfect home and purpose for every horse - whether as therapeutic companions, trail horses, or pasture ponies. On the tour - led by Susan Powers - we learned how KyEAC operates, met all the horses and heard their stories, and were treated to a short demonstration in the arena. I was floored. The staff and volunteers at KyEAC are doing amazing work advocating and caring for our most noble and precious symbols of the Bluegrass State. I have had animals my entire life and truly have never been as disappointed as I am with this vet…read more We took one of our cats in because we suspected he had bladder crystals and it turns out he did. We brought the vet a urine sample and he showed it to me under the microscope. It was all going well until he told us that we had to put both our cats on a prescription diet. We feed our cats very high quality wet food because one of them is very picky. The vet told us we had to buy dry kibble from him and could no longer give our cats the other food. He also prescribed an antibiotic to help with the stones, which we gave to our cat, no problem. However, after a week of our cats not eating the new food, I called and had them give us a prescription wet food, which they didn't eat. We contacted our old vet in Virginia and they advised us to try a different brand of food but they couldn't send in a prescription since they hadn't seen our cat for this issue. So on Chewy, I ordered the food and was waiting and waiting for the vet to approve it but they never did. So I called, and to my surprise, they just denied the prescription (without contacting me) because the vet "didn't know anything about that food." I was shocked! I told them our cats hadn't eaten in over a month, and when they did eat, they'd just throw the food up. They were visibly losing weight. THEN, when I asked to have our records emailed to us because we were no longer going to be giving them our business, they said they don't have internet hooked up in their building so they couldn't send us our records. Very strange that 1) the vet wouldn't do research on this food to try and help our cats after we paid them over $300 and 2) that they don't have internet. In 2022. I wouldn't recommend this vet to anyone. Check out Chevy Chase vet in Lexington if you're looking for a new vet. They are FANTASTIC!
