I could not wait for this place to open and they did not disappoint!! I'm glad I beat the lunch rush. I felt like the prices were very reasonable for what you got. I loved the pumpkin spice rice pudding. I have only one comment- it's loud. Acoustically loud. I had a hard time hearing the workers and when one group was loud and laughing, it was off putting. Ordered a lunch for 10 last week. This was the first time I've been asked to provide a lunch that wasn't "meat-centric". We opted for lentils and falafel and all the trimmings. Everything about this food experience was exceptional! The delivery was prompt, the food was presented beautifully and everything tasted phenomenal! Our delivery person Jason was most accommodating in helping us move the food to the appropriate department which entailed more than a fair bit of walking and yet he did it without a hint of being inconvenienced! Then he helped get everything set up too! Later the same day I received a phone call from the manager, Gloria making sure everything was excellent. It certainly was! We will definitely use The Simple Greek again for future client lunches and I highly recommend that you try them! read more

While in line ordering food a worker jumped up on the counter behind the server to clean out the grease traps walking on the counter. Not cool. The staff was cleaning the tables after people leave. Not COVID-19 complaint. The staff aren't wearing face masks correctly. If your nose isn't covered the Mask isn't doing it's job. You are putting yourself in danger and possible to spread to other's. Amazing food. I visit so many places and yelp a lot, not very many places get a 5 from me! The restaurant was very clean, the staff friendly/quick and knowledgeable. You get so many fresh and tasty options here and the portion size is amazing. I had a salad with gyro chicken and several toppings. They put in a few pieces of pita which was very soft and fresh. The price of the salad was around $9, very reasonable. I normally go to another restaurant near here and even though they have good food I spend a lot more for probably less salad. It was my first time coming here. This place is like Chipotle, where you can build your own bowl or salad. I decided to get a bowl, with pilaf, traditional gyro, white pita, mixed vegetables (seasoned tomatoes, cucumbers and red onions), pickled peppers, pickled onions, olives, grean beans, and creamy garlic sauce and tatziki sauce on the side. I was searching for somewhere to eat this past weekend on Yelp and came across a newer restaurant The Simple Greek located by the total wine in Chesapeake. I liked the idea of something a little different then the norm, while still being in the Chesapeake area. I got in line and watched the ordering process as the person in front of me made their selections. At The Simple Greek you get to select all your own gyro toppings. I mixed it up from the traditional and got a garlic cream spread and loved the oil and vinegar cucumbers and tomatoes I added on top. The restaurant was very clean and all the topping looked and tasted fresh. Friendly staff. I would recommend this to a friend and already plan to bring my sister next time she is in town. read more

Very good and, just like it's name, simple Greek food. The flavors did not overpower your tastebuds like some other Greek places I've had. You build your own pita or bowl and have unlimited toppings choice (a definite plus). I had the traditional Greek bowl and added some green beans (amazing taste) and garbanzo beans. There was a lot of meat. Not like some places where you end up with lettuce and veggies with not enough meat. I also tried the Greek fries which were also good, as long as you like vinegar. The Baklava cheesecake also amazing! What was also a plus, the staff was friendly had smiles and positive energy. Also, the manager, or maybe owner, came around to the tables checking on everyone. Enjoyed this casual Greek experience. The build your own bowl flexibility to pick salad items and toppings is a great concept. I was able to get my salad and pita in one meal item and stay on my Lazy Keto diet. Splurged on the "spinach pie" or Spanakopita-which was great. Didn't want to share with my wife so got a second piece. Next cheat day going to have to try the baklava! Looked online and they have locations all over country. We love this place. We visited weekly when it first opened here in Chesapeake and every time our meals were great. We begin to visit less frequently due to the long wait times and incorrect orders we received. However, lately seems there is a new friendly crew providing great customer service. We enjoyed our pitas tonight but our fries were cooked in what appeared to be fryer oil that needed changing. We will return, but hope that we never get the fries that we did tonight! read more

The line moved pretty slow for it not being busy, but we got through it eventually. I got a bowl with mixed greens & a bunch of fresh toppings. The mixed greens were about to run out, so although I could've been given the bottom of the pan, the employee got me some fresh greens and I appreciated that. The Greek dressing was delicious. We explained that this was our first time at this establishment and wanted to know what they recommended. The employee taking our order was either new or just didn't care to be polite. So after we figured out what we wanted it took forever for her to make our pitas and Greek fries. The food was pretty good, but the service was so bad the the experience was less than pleasurable. This was our first time ordering online so we were a little excited about the menu. My wife and I each ordered a bowl. My order was waiting when I arrived to pick it up. Everything smelled amazing, but when I got home my wife noted several things were missing from our order. We were missing Tzatziki, Spicy Humus, Olive Oil, Red wine vinegar, and fresh ground pepper on each meal. Theses were items specifically checked when ordering, so it was a little disappointing that the request was ignored. This review isn't intended to bash the restaurant. WARNING: Extremely poor customer service. I will never go to the Simple Greek restaurant in Chesapeake Virginia, or any other Simple Greek, again. My wife has cancer and I am also at high risk for COVID, so we often rely on take-out orders when we are not well enough to cook. Being on chemotherapy, my wife has trouble having an appetite and maintaining weight. She actually had a desire for the lemon chicken soup at Simple Greek, and after looking at the menu thought she could actually eat a couple other items. So we placed a take-out order and I headed to the restaurant, and my son went in to get the order. After waiting a long time I went in to see what was wrong. My son told me that after the employees (there were 2) bagged the order, they told him they did not have any of the soup, and my son was calling my wife to see if there was something else she could eat, and she responded there was not. I went and asked the employees about the situation, including why we were not informed of the absence of the soup when we ordered, or at least before the rest of the order was filled. They apologized and offered another item or a refund. I requested a refund. They asked for the credit card, but it was my wife's card that was used to make the order and I did not have it. They told me there was no way to refund my money and there was nothing they could do. I pointed to the bag on the counter and asked if it was mine. They said yes, and I grabbed it and left in anger saying that if they could not handle take-out orders then they should not be doing it! After getting home, we found that the order was missing one of the other items my wife ordered, and the one item they included for her order was wrong. We were of course charged for both missing items and the third wrong one. My wife was in tears, and I'm sure any cancer patient who has been on chemotherapy would understand. I called the corporate office, and the woman who patiently listened to my complaint was very understanding, and declared this was a "teaching opportunity" for the local franchise, and that she was going to contact them and that I would be called by them to resolve the issue. I was never called. I gave them over a week, so I called corporate back on a Friday but the woman I had previously talked to was not there. The person who answered promised that woman would call me on Monday. Again I was not called back. I am so sick and tired that in these times when restaurants are struggling to survive and people are more dependent on them that are they not more careful about getting orders right, and trying to provide the best customer service possible! read more
