I had a very disappointing experience at Skin Agency and unfortunately will not be returning for any remaining sessions. The facility itself appeared poorly maintained. Lights throughout the establishment were flickering, and even the bathroom lights were not functioning properly. For a med spa offering medical-grade treatments, the environment did not feel professional or reassuring. I came in for PRP microneedling and was informed that the provider performing my treatment had only been working in a med spa setting for about four months. During my appointment, my blood could not be successfully drawn and I was poked three separate times. Afterwards, the provider forgot to even give me a Band-Aid and stated it was because she was nervous. While I understand that mistakes can happen, this did not leave me feeling confident or comfortable continuing treatment here. They did offer to substitute the PRP portion of my treatment with hyaluronic acid instead, but considering PRP microneedling is a significantly more expensive and specialized treatment, I did not feel that would have been fair for the amount of money I paid for the service. I purchased my session through Groupon because I had seen mixed reviews and wanted to cautiously try the service first before committing to additional visits. After today's experience, I asked about the refund process since the Groupon had not yet been redeemed. The receptionist with red hair initially stated they could not refund it because it wasn't redeemed, but when I asked if it could be redeemed so I could request my refund, she contradicted herself and said there are no refunds through third-party groups. I would have completely understood policy limitations if the conversation had been handled professionally and respectfully. What stood out most was the attitude of the front desk staff from the moment I walked in particularly the red head receptionist. As someone who works in customer service and as a receptionist myself, I understand how important first impressions are. I did not feel welcomed, acknowledged, or treated with kindness during my visit. I drove all the way from Long Beach to Glendale for this appointment hoping I would be in good hands, and sadly that was not the case. I strongly encourage Skin Agency to provide additional training for both their front desk staff and employees performing medical-grade facial treatments to ensure future clients have a safer and more professional experience. read more

It's unfortunate that I have to share such an unpleasant experience. Long story short, I had purchased a package for 3 micro-needling (used 2 out of 3). I had to delay the 3rd treatment due to iron-deficiency; my doctor told me to stop until my iron level is back to normal. (PRP requires drawing blood). So I was on iron supplements until now, and when I called to book the 3rd treatment, the lady said my package EXPIRED. This is WRONG & UNFAIR in many ways. 1) EXPIRY date was never mentioned when I purchased the package. 2) If there is an expiry date or extension, there should be some form of communication, but no email or phone call ever received. 3) I have NOT redeem the 3rd treatment due to a medical condition. Overall, I am VERY disappointed. As a previously happy client, I was looking to finish package + buy more treatments. The way they do NOT want to honor the 3rd treatment is a DEAL BREAKER. Frankly, I have packages in 3 different medical spas and none of the other medical spas put expiry dates on packages. (That's how reputable medical spas should be!) ** Lesson Learned: Your package/$$ will expire, so buy at your own risk. ** With Covid and so much going on, a little compassion would be appreciated. Customer loyalty and good communication mean little to them, unfortunately. I started coming to Skin Agency pre-pandemic for laser hair removal treatments and have been a loyal customer for a few years (having never gone anywhere else, as its other location in Toluca Lake is 5 min from my workplace near the major movie studios). However, when the pandemic started, I stopped going for obvious reasons, even though I was happy that they opened another location in my neighborhood of Glendale. I was finally comfortable enough to buy another package of 3 bikini & underarm laser hair removal treatments (my usual) on Feb. 11, 2022. But with remote work-life balance lines blurring since 2020 and COVID/FLU/RSV cases fluctuating throughout the last 2-3 years, I hadn't been able to redeem the last two treatments of the package I purchased. I called earlier this week (Feb. 6, 2023) to schedule an appointment, and they told me that my package had expired. They're only telling me about the expiration window now? As someone who saves all my receipts, I combed through my inbox. The original purchase confirmation says NOTHING of an expiration date or requirement to use all three treatments within a certain time frame, nor did I get any emails/texts/phone calls notifying me that this is their policy. I even checked receipts from previous purchases of the same treatment. It is not noted there either. Frustratingly, I tried to make my case that I should have been clearly notified of this policy in my original confirmation email or by any means of communication when the policy was put into effect or BEFORE the expiration date (as someone who works in digital marketing, I'm certain that there are ways to program and send these reminder emails automatically). But they basically told me, "nope sorry, this is our policy, and there is nothing we can do." To be clear, having the policy is not the issue, but it was very poorly communicated. Actually, it wasn't communicated to me at all until this moment. At the end of the call, I guess I made a valid enough point that they decided to honor only one more treatment. I took what I could get. When I arrived, I had only been marked for a bikini hair removal treatment, even though the package I purchased was for bikini + underarm treatment. So the front desk rep had to check the receipts again. I couldn't help but wonder if they were trying to pull the rug from underneath me again, but it wasn't worth another complaint. To be quite honest, it's a huge disappointment from a place I have been so loyal to (I was even considering getting a few other treatments/services before my vacation at the end of this month and again before Coachella in April). I never leave reviews and this might seem totally trivial in the grand scheme of things - first world problems, right? But I guess I still thought it was worth sharing my experience for anyone who might care about quality customer service. A total waste of money (as these types of beauty services are never inexpensive), bad customer service, and very poor communication on their part. Regardless, I expect some level of professionalism and understanding from establishments that offer "luxury" beauty/cosmetic services, as customer service and fairness is not always "one-size fits all." I will be taking my loyalty, business, and recommendations elsewhere (LA Beauty Skin Care to be exact, which came highly recommended from a trusted family member who is well-versed in all things beauty, as well as some ladies I work with). read more

I keep hearing about PRP facials, so when I saw a groupon for $150, I thought this was a great way to try it. Initially, my appt was last Monday but I got a last minute call that one of their nurses called out so I said it was perfectly fine to reschedule the following Monday but I would have to check my groupon if it expires. I looked it up and said, "Sure, it expires at the end of the month." Fast forward to today, I came to check in for my appointment, and the front girl desk did not even really say hi. She just kept looking on her phone while I checked in their iPad. I asked her, "Should I show you my groupon now?." She then tells me that they no longer accept groupons and they have new owners. Obviously, I was upset, I told her, I drove an hour to get here in traffic and will have to drive another hour home. I even offered to show her my address on my license. I asked to speak to the supervisor, and she said there is no supervisor. Huh? I asked, "Can you get them on the phone?" She just kept typing on her computer with no eye contact. After a few minutes, I had to ask her. Are you sending a message to your supervisor? She said yes and said there is nothing we can do. You have to just pay if you want to have the service. I finally just sat at one of the chairs and waited. When she saw I wasn't leaving, she just kept repeating herself like a parrot, that's it. We can not take the voucher, call groupon. If you are under new management, please please get better front desk people if you want to grow your business. I could not believe she was dense enough to think I would leave without talking to someone besides the front desk. Good management would at least call their customers who have an upcoming appointment that they are no longer accepting these vouchers. To make matters worse, she said I need to pay a $100 cancelation fee for not going through the service. What!!! Is this girl dense? Would you tell a customer who is already quite upset that they have to pay a $100 cancelation fee when I obviously did not cancel as I am here. It was them who had to reschedule due to a sick call. Honestly, she probably just did this to get under my skin as I didn't want to leave. I know this for a fact since after calling the main location, the person I spoke with was very helpful and called them to clear it up right away. Please, please get better front desk people!!! I think you would want a nicer, friendlier, less dense front person who only cares about her phone. read more
