Stopped in here on our family vacation. So thankful for yelp because we would have never known about this hidden gem; It's one of those hole in the wall/dive bar/local spots. Food was delicious. I got the cheesesteak sandwich (small) it was very filling and delicious; steak, peppers, onions, mushrooms, and some spicy peppers, with cheese wiz, they also have other cheese options if that isn't your thing, my husband had nachos and they were huge, could easily feed multiple people. The Sloop started service g breakfast this weekend. They serve breakfast Friday, Saturday, and Sunday 7:00 am to 10:00am. The food is delicious and includes many choices, including breakfast bowls, omelets, pancakes, steak burrito, classics breakfasts and more. Excellent food and great service. Wondered on this place while waiting to check in at the state park. The Philly Cheesesteak is possibly the best I've ever had. We returned a second time and the food was just as good. What a delicious hidden spot! Walked in & sat immediately. We split a cheesesteak poboy and chips & salsa. Came out quickly. Cheesesteak was hot & fresh. So good! Homemade chips were delicious. Would've wanted more had we not ordered the chips & salsa. Tortilla chips & salsa were also delicious. Wanted to try the cheesecake eggrolls but we were too full. Maybe get to try them next time. The cheese steak sandwich was the best my son has ever had. Just beware the spice level is extreme. He couldn't finish it all due to the spiciness, but loved the flavor otherwise. I got the sizzlin shrimp appetizer and let me tell you, it was some of the most delicious shrimp I've ever had! It was like shrimp meets spicy Marsala. The sauce was so good I wanted to take it home! Great little hidden gem in Gulf Shores. The bartenders are top notch and pour great drinks and the locals are friendly. Watched a Braves game and met some locals who are fans. We stopped in here for a late supper. We were seated right away. The waitresses were very friendly. I ordered the Pork Tamale from the Specials menu. I was told it was homemade by a lil' ole Mexican lady. It was okay good. The bed of black beans with cream sauce and salad was delicious. My husband ordered the Hot Dog with a Boat of Fries. The dog was huge. I tasted the sausage in it and it was very good. The fries were not worth the fried carbs to me. My daughter ordered the Nachos and I tasted them and they were very good also. Her boyfriend ordered the SOFO's Italiano sandwich and I tasted it and it was very good. My brother-in-law ordered the Philly Cheesesteak and said it was the best thing he had eaten out all week. My sister-in-law ordered the Shrimp Tacos and said they were delicious. Since the same lady makes the tortillas for them, I want to try the Tacos or Quesadillas next time. read more
