Our waiter was terrible. He would only fill our water glasses half way so we kept running out. He also asked us if we needed boxes and dessert half way through meal. When we were done he was no where to be found with the check. Food was just okay. Parm fries looked good but didn't taste good. Food was under seasoned. I have finally enjoyed my meal from the restaurant itself versus having it delivered. I have eaten here 3 times now and I have ordered the same entree every time. So while that doesn't show the variety of the restaurant it does show that there is consistency with their meals. My choice for dinner has been their ribeye, mouth watering and cooked to perfection. The delivered ribeyes were just as good as the restaurant order. The major difference was absolutely nothing left to clean which is always a positive. I was there on New Year's Eve with a last minute reservation. The atmosphere within the restaurant was just right, not too loud and not too quiet. My friend and I were seated quickly. We were seated at a table for two but it didn't feel right. Maybe if my friend and I were both tall it would have been better but I'm only 5'2 and my friend 5'9 and the table was long and skinny. We had to rearrange the plates multiple times to make do. Our server promptly greeted us for our drink order. I asked if they carried sweet tea and he said yes but what I got wasn't sweet tea, in fact it tasted like powdered Lipton tea mix which I would have totally passed up. We were ready to order by the time he arrived with our drinks. We started with an appetizer of mini beef wellingtons. They were tasty but I won't order again. When they say bite size, they meant bite sized. The appetizer was served so quickly I was wondering if all they did was reheat them which was possible because they weren't juicy. We had ordered our entrees of the ribeye at the same time. It came with smashed potatoes and the vegetables of the day. Our waiter didn't elaborate on any of the sides. The vegetable of the day worked out in my favor since it ended up being Brussel sprouts which my friend doesn't eat so I got his and mine. The potatoe portion was quite small and left us wanting more but the ribeye was delicious. While we are the next table ordered dessert which looked amazing. We inquired what it was called and decided we were getting one. When we had finished our meal our waiter asked if we wanted dessert and we said yes we wanted what they had, we had to remind him what is was and I ordered coffee as he had already started to leave. I said I needed a lot of sugar and he brought a dish with sugar in it, I asked him for more and he brought 7 more packets. Now the dessert came out and there was a lot to be desired, we questioned our waiter on why it didn't look as good and he promptly said I had to make it when I had time, we ate later so they weren't overly busy. Our dessert had come out lopsided without whip cream rosettes around it. Luckily it didn't ruin the taste only the presentation. There was an over abundance of walnuts which I love but still too many and it took away from the flavor of the brownie that was used. I also felt it should have been warmed or maybe also included vanilla bean ice cream. Halfway through eating it our server came by and cleared all the sugar not once asking if I'd like another cup of coffee which I would have and then he disappeared. We had to flag down another server for our bill. Our server never returned which was surprising since he didn't appear to be half bad. After we realized he wasn't coming back we greatly reduced the amount of his tip. Overall the restaurant was a good choice but I'm ready to look onward in my quest for a great steak. I also want to note that I used the restroom once and was glad there wasn't a line because the first stall I chose didn't lock and there were only 2 stalls. I used the second and I'm not 100% sure it was locked. Luckily no one came in while I was there. I did rearrange the counter while I was there to look more appeasing. Let me add. We went here again this weekend and noticed they served the salmon with no wine glazed on it and there does seem to be inconsistency in that we had to ask for the tapenade. Was told it was complimentary but only was offered it once out of the four times visited. Usually at a place where your having a nice dinner it's immediately placed on the table so asking for something complimentary seems off policy. Plus. The fire/security alarm was going for 15-20 mins. That's a turn off when your trying to have conversations. I'm lowering my review ranking by one star. Let see what happens in the future. Small thing s matter when your spending 90$ on dinner for 2. I've driven past this establishment numerous times since it opened a year or so ago, and finally had the opportunity to stop for dinner. It's bright and very nicely decorated with a well-stocked bar. Service was commendable on a Friday evening - the staff didn't miss a step and was Betty attentive. My wife ordered the mushroom ravioli while I had the chicken pot pie. Happened to be in the area buying a car from a dealer down the road and decided to try the Smashed Olive after a friends recommendation. The restaurant in appearance is beautiful inside & out with a great bar area! Many cars in the large parking lot at 7:30 pm on a Wednesday so that was a good sign. Got seated right away. We were waited on promptly & our drinks arrived in short order along with some delicious pita type bread with a spicy olive tapenade. We ordered as an appetizer the mini beef Wellington's. FANTASTIC! For our dinner along with a Caesar salad that had homemade dressing we had goat cheese and mushroom gnocchi & also the cowboy steak made with the ribeye. Both were fantastic! The gnocchi was tied with the best gnocchi I have ever had, the first being a cheese restaurant in Nice France. This dish was out of this world delicious! The gnocchi was so tender and tasted like it was just made there at the restaurant. I do not know if that was the case. The steak was cooked to perfection with a mushroom au jus & substituted the broccoli for spinach which was all delicious. Our waitress Gina was fantastic, so personable, friendly, efficient & always checked up on us to see if we needed anything. For dessert we had the blueberry pie with vanilla ice cream and also the tiramisu which was so delicious and such a huge piece I had to take 1/2 home. As a matter of fact I took 1/2 of my gnocchi meal home as it was filling and I couldn't eat all of it! Same with the steak. This was by far one of the best meals we have had in Warren County New Jersey and we will definitely go back & hope it is just as good! read more

The atmosphere is good with dim lighting and pretty cozy. Fried calamari and the meatballs appetizers were very good. The main entrees are VERY overpriced. The chicken pot pie was good but hardly any chicken or filling. The amount of food was fitting of an appetizer and hardly worth $28! The bleu burger was so bad. Bacon undercooked and burger was small, dry, mealy and grainy and hard bits of unidentified pieces in it. $19 for this burger? No way. The service was good. This is strictly a drinks and apps place. We come out here every year for our Christmas tree from the east coast of New Jersey, where there are an abundance of great restaurants. We decided to try lunch here because it was new. Only one person of the eight of us thought their meal was satisfactory. I ordered the prime rib cheese steak and I will tell you, I had a hard time finding any meat on this sandwich (at $22!). Plenty of cheese, no meat. My husband got the eggplant and again, two thinly sliced strips (not whole pieces) of eggplant, breaded and fried. Eggplant is cheap but it didn't even reach the end of the roll. For the price, that sandwich should have been loaded with eggplant. Blue cheese and classic burgers were overcooked and dry. Everything was so greasy as well. My suggestion, if you are headed out that way for your tree, go somewhere else. read more

Had a lovely lunch, our first time. I had a smashed burger, one of the surprises was that the bun looked huge but it was so fresh and light it didn't take away from the burger at all! It came with garlic Parmesan fries which were crispy and fresh and the topping was tasty. I also had a side salad that was also very fresh and lightly dressed with balsamic. My husband had the soup of the day which was pasta fagioli. He said it was very good and then a Caesar salad with grilled chicken - a very generous portion. Outstanding!!! We sat comfortably in the room with the bar in a booth. The bartender, Sasha, was a master at working the bar and being super conscientious about our service! The food was plentiful and delicious! I had the chicken saltimbocca and my sister mentioned to Sasha that she was hungry for something not on the menu. Sasha asked her what it might be and she thought that it was worth asking the kitchen. They made her chicken francaise! She loved her dish as did I and we had plenty left to take home with us. I walk with a cane. As I arose from our booth Sasha came out from behind the bar to open both exit doors for me. I wish that I had given a larger tip!!! LOL! read more

This restaurant was recommended to us by a good friend and exceeded our expectations! Everything we had for dinner was delicious, from the cocktails, to the amazing and free flatbread with crushed olive teaser, the tomato and fennel soup and both of our dinners. To top it off, the coffee is stupendous and topped off a wonderful tiramisu. We met the manager, Felipe, who's friendly and involved in making sure his guests have a great dining experience. Came in for dinner the other night and started off with the meatballs and whipped ricotta. Both dishes tasted amazing! For dinner I had the chicken apple Brie, it was delicious! we have waited to go back to the smashed olive, our first experience was great, so we tried to go back couldn't busy so we said lets try a month later and we decided to bring friends this time have a nice Sunday dinner in a nice restaurant. honestly so long the food is good we would go back I was disappointed I ordered a bloody Mary so salty didn't finish it. for me my food as the drink was salty not happy, why didn't I return the food well the restaurant had a party I say 14 people I say they must of had a game of who can shout the loudest very bad, the restaurant wasn't that big very close 4 tables couples left, could not wait to get check to go. in my opinion they should have had a room for these guys. so for me I will never go back to be honest I didn't want anything for free all I wanted was a nice relaxing Sunday dinner that never happened so I wont be back, good luck read more
