Caveat. This is the first time we had ever been to Lucille's and almost 20 years since we moved here. We walked in the front door and asked for a table for two. They asked if we had a reservation, which we did not, but we were offered a table in the bar and were served a full menu. My husband ordered the chicken fried steak and eggs with hashbrowns and it was amazing. We did start off our brunch lunch menu with some fried green tomatoes, and you could definitely tell that the sauce for the tomatoes was homemade in between a horseradish citrus sauce, which was good . I ordered their Guinness beef stew, which was amazing. I just wish the stew was served with a nice piece of chunky bread to dip into the stew. The atmosphere service and food was really really good. It is not cheap to eat here. However, you get your moneys worth in portions, size and flavor. As first-timers, we can't wait to go back. If you sit in the bar, ask for Jessy. She's waitstaff and bartender. She was so sweet.

Not sure why this restaurant only has 3.5 stars. It's so packed on sunday. You need a reservation. That usually means pretty good food. My breakfast was excellent and my husband's also. He is a chef himself and knows flavor. He ordered the corned beef hash and really like it. I had my typical bacon and eggs. And toast, just to make sure this was a great place. Also ordered a small waffle so I could try. Was a great breakfast. The atmosphere is hopping, and I like that. One of the waiters has been here awhile and told us a few things you could get that weren't on the menu. All the staff were attentive and helpful. Bathrooms clean.

Went for brunch and it was very busy but the food came out very good. Many of the places in the Fort Worth overcook their poached eggs but the lobster Benedict was perfect! This was my first time trying beignets and I went back a second time to show my parents!

We had reservations for a Saturday morning & we're seated promptly upon arriving. We had a party of six, water was brought out quickly, & our drink order was taken after a few minutes. The place was comfortable & clean. The bathroom needed attention, in their defense, the place was packed & the staff were very busy! The food was okay... I had the shrimp & grits. There was nothing wrong with them, but I've had better. The shrimp were small, especially in comparison to the huge bowl of grits. Overall, it was good experience & we will give them a try again.

Lobster and scallop Alfredo - note this was NOT traditional Alfredo, but the 10 yr old loved it anyways

I read the reviews (yes there are some bad ones) but this place deserves recognition where recognition is due. We had a large family dinner and every single person was THOROUGHLY impressed with their food, even the 10 yr old who barely eats anything. Service was a little slow but the place was packed so understandable. The vibe is definitely lively so don't expect a quiet intimate dinner.

Steak wedge salad--Good flavor, but overdressed and so salty!

We had high hopes for this local institution...and sadly we were disappointed. We had an early reservation for a Saturday evening, and the hostesses were somewhat off-putting and had some challenges with seating and we had to wait. It was odd when folks who were walk-ins were offered a table before those of us with reservations for the same size party. We would have gladly taken a bar seat but were not offered one. The hostesses seemed more concerned about an upcoming birthday party for one of the staff. When we were finally seated, things didn't improve much. Some basic service training is lacking here. Example-- we were seated at a table with the former diners' ticket on it. The served came and picked it up while we were waiting at the table, but did not greet us. Once we were acknowledged, the server was nice enough. The martini is great -- get it! The server didn't offer a wine list when we asked. Ended up with house cab --producer unknown. Food was lackluster. Crab mushrooms were tiny, but the sauce was okay. Entrees were rough. My wedge salad with steak was so overly dressed and salty I could feel myself dehydrating! The flavor WAS good, just way too much dressing and sooo salty. And the steak, while I asked for medium rare, was more like well done....and weirdly cold. My companion's chicken was fair, but the veggies were all only cooked on one side. The corn was nearly petrified. It tasted freezer burned and reheated. The place is cute! Perhaps we ordered poorly or it was an off night, but sadly, we won't likely return.

Good food and service, we were here today for our 52nd anniversary. Wish they were closer.

My daughter found Lucille's in Yelp and I can't believe I'd never heard of it. Parking can be a little tricky, the restaurant is located on a triangle. Definitely make a reservation, although they have an open seating at the small bar and a few tables along the window. We were there on Father's Day and it was packed. We lucked into to a small table in the bar area and canceled our reservation. We ordered our drinks fairly quickly; the bar was pretty backed up my breakfast old-fashioned was definitely worth the wait. We split an order of the blueberry lemon ricotta pancakes with bacon and lobster Benedict with hashbrowns. They put our Benedict on separate plates, which was very thoughtful! The food was incredible even though the poached eggs were a tad overcooked. I can't wait to come back and try something else.

First time Luciles's, I was looking for a place nearby and just happen to stumble across this place and I'm glad I did! Parking can be a little challenging, during busy times. Definitely recommend make a reservation, especially during the weekend We found an open seat at a small table in the bar area, which is open seating. I go a Bloody Mary, since a Fort Worth said they had the best. My mom and I split an order of the blueberry lemon ricotta pancakes and lobster Eggs Benedict with The food was very tasty even though the poached eggs were a tad overcooked. I'm sure we'll be back!

Lucile's Chicken Fried Steak is probably the best one I've had in Texas so far... It's HUGE! I think what made it so good is the breading. It goes really well with the beef. The mashed potatoes was just ok... I would have added more butter to make it creamier. Overall I can see why the chicken fried steak here was voted best in Fort Worth.

What a fun and yummy restaurant! I love Lucille's. The bartenders are the best! The martinis are tops. A casual country look with plenty of natural night. Highly recommend!!

We always sit at the bar. Angel hair pasta with salmon is one of my favorites. That and the chicken fried steakbig enough split.

Was once an all time favorite now a disappointment. Cold food and poor takeout packaging. Ordered salmon and potatoes both were cold and tasteless

Lobster Cioppino and Duck, Shrimp, and Andouille Sausage Gumbo. Made the trek into FTW today from NE Tarrant County to try the gumbo posted on FB yesterday. My wife immediately focused on the lobster cioppino being offered today and that was that. She opted for a glass of vino and I a Tanqueray martini. Not crazy about whatever vermouth this is poured with (for me it just does not work with the Tanqueray) and not a fan of the abundance of ice shards in the pour here but still... it was a martini at lunch! Cheers! Both the gumbo and cioppino boasted a rich, hearty, and complex medley of flavors which perfectly showcased the respective seafoods and meats. The fish, lobster, mussels, and scallops, etc. in the cioppino were all perfectly cooked. None of the seafood in the dish was overcooked. Everything in the gumbo was as well properly rendered and tasty though the gumbo was not close to hot, just warm. But it does include okra, y'all! Oh yeah! The brown rice, however, in both our dishes was significantly undercooked. The rice was still crunchy. We passed this observation on to our server who apparently communicated it to the kitchen as one of the cooks soon brought a bowl of "fresh rice" to our table. A+ on the server's and kitchen's attention to their patrons. But it was the same story. I kinda wonder why brown rice is served with these dishes in the first place. I bet not one in fifty diners these days have ever had brown rice and not one in a hundred prefer it. (My wife is that one. I am one of the 99. LOL ). I don't recall ever having been served brown rice with a Cajun or Creole inspired dish. But anywho, both dishes were otherwise most enjoyable and, of course, we always love the vibe at Lucile's!

The first time I came here though, they were a bit stingy to seat us at a booth during happy hour, but asides from that one experience, I have no complaints about this location. There's a decently sized parking lot available (though it can fill up), along with street parking. Overall, I highly recommend visiting Hudson House, especially at the FW location!

I didn't try my parents or husband's food, but they ordered the Santa Fe tacos, fried catfish tropical style with fried okra, and grilled redfish with sautéed spinach. On the menu, you can also choose the type of fish you want, how you want it prepared, and the sides for that particular plate, which is what my mom and husband did with their catfish tropical style with fried okra and the redfish with the sautéed spinach. There are 7 types of fish to choose from and 5 ways it can be prepared, plus 8 regular sides and 5 premium sides. If I'm doing my math right, that means 455 possible plates. Incredible!

I can't remember all the reasons why we asked but I know one reason was because they said they could not cater to the individual steak preferences in large groups, made sense in an efficiency way when they explained it. What they didn't tell us after some chose not order steak for that very reason, was that after anyone who ordered steak & cut into it, they could back to cook it longer based on each individual's preference. I'm allergic to shrimp, I ordered the steak with vegetables. I did inform the waiter that I had a shrimp allergy, he was gracious & asked me a few questions to help better address my food preparation. A few minutes later another staff member, maybe a manager, comes in & thanks us for choosing there restaurant. Then he asks who has the allergy & asks the same questions the waiter asked me. It just put me on the spotlight that I (nor several of my coworkers) felt was necessary. It wasn't embarrassing but more annoying seeing how our waiter had been thorough, or come to me one on one just to reconfirm if needed. I felt bad for my coworkers because they now had genuine concern I might be exposed to something since many had shrimp dishes. I will say that I did enjoy the steak & asparagus. Dessert was delicious, a great creme brulee & the cheesecake slices were generous! Also, there were larger amounts of time between when the first person got their salad or soup to when the last person received theirs, same situation with the entrées. In both phases they basically asked who was missing what & then asked what they had. Refills & drinks, the same. Maybe they were short handed but if they were, we wished they would've communicated that so we could anticipate any timing issues. Aside from the allergy thing, the staff tending to us were very polite. Maybe it's more of a training issue higher up because they seemed to be doing their best, but right now it's a miss at this location.
