We went to a restaurant to celebrate my birthday." We ordered seafood sautéed dish. It was really good then sweet thing chocolate cake with writing birthday celebration. I forgot the waitress, she was nice and polite. I love this place, The atmosphere was sophisticated, with elegant decor that made for a memorable, intimate evening".

So disappointing :( first time coming back in 7 years since moving out of state. Used to come here all the time in college. Here is the breakdown. The lobster bisque was RICH and thick. Honestly very heavy and was glad I split the one size they had with a friend. It would have been too much. There was a little layer of oil on top too. The Faux Fiz mocktail I got was good. However, a lot of "spices". I ended up requesting more ginger beer and lime to cut it. That helped. But overall good quality drink. The Atlantic salmon crudo was very interesting. Nothing close to what I expected. It was gross. Really thick salmon over globs of a black garlic aioli. The ratio was so off. It was so pasty. I am shocked they haven't reviewed that item on their menu. Usually crudos are so nice and light. This was not. The wild Spanish octopus was the better of the three dishes. Just needed some more salt. Or more of the chorizo would have sufficed. I was surprised that this place was nothing like it used to be. Will not be back :(

My sister eats here often and I joined her for a full evening ing feast. The clam chowder has actual chopped up clams and the salad is made with fresh greens and a vinaigrette that was a little too sweet for me, but I don't eat much sugar. My flourless chocolate cake was another quite sweet enough but rich and delicious. Best seafood that I have had in years-- soft, perfectly cooked with an interesting Newburgh sauce. Our waiters were friendly and attentive. The decor is 1920s chop house which was fun I. It's own right but don't sit in the Middle of the room if you are sharing top secrets with your fellow diner.

had a wonderful dining experience at this restaurant. From the moment I walked in, the ambience stood out -- warm, inviting, and perfectly balanced between cozy and upscale. It's the kind of place where you immediately feel relaxed but still excited for the meal ahead. The staff was friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming without being overbearing. As for the food, I ordered the quarter pound lobster roll, and it was absolutely outstanding. The lobster was fresh, tender, and generously portioned, with flavors that were rich yet beautifully balanced. Every bite was satisfying. Overall, this restaurant delivers on all fronts: atmosphere, service, and quality. I'd happily return and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great meal!

Worcester Restaurant Week kicked off Monday with amazing options, and we chose The Sole Proprietor. As early diners, we arrived just before 4 pm and enjoyed both lunch and dinner menus, plus dinner specials. I had Nova Scotia oysters, and we shared firecracker sushi. My dish was the salmon rangoon with seared salmon, crab rangoon filling, and spicy duck sauce over jasmine rice and asparagus, all for $19.99. He opted for the $29.25 restaurant week special, featuring tuna poke, clam chowder, and a Mediterranean mixed grill with swordfish, tuna, and shrimp. Our waitresses, Katerina and Crista, provided excellent service, making the experience truly satisfying.

The best seafood restaurant in and around Worcester! This is our favorite place and have celebrated multiple birthdays here. It's very nicely decorated on the inside and the staff has always been so friendly. It gets busy so I recommend a reservation! The food is also phenomenal.

"When in Rome," is what I saw on a review before coming here, and I followed suit. Visiting the East Coast, you gotta get some oysters and lobster. This is my friend's favorite local seafood place and it did not disappoint! Definitely had to make a reservation for 8pm on a Saturday and had to park on the street because the lot was full at peak hour. Depending where they seat you, the ambiance changes from feeling for formal in the back dining room, to more casual by the bar. The two servers we had were appropriately attentive. We started off with oysters and the octopus (with chorizo, red chiles, and potato) appetizer. The octopus was kinda flavorless and chicken-y, good, but not worth ordering again. The oysters were discounted for oysterfest, which was awesome, and the champagne mignonette and horseradish toppings were delicious! I know my focus should be on the seafood, but I'd like to mention that the side salads were really nice. When they brought it out, I thought it was plain vegetables, but the dressing was so well balanced and lightly sweet. The clam chowder was good, and the lobster for me was a star, very nice. The swordfish special was also really good.

Music= 5 stars, venue= 4 stars, food= 1 star, drinks= 4 stars, service= 2 stars, location= 1star…read more We've been here several times specifically to hear bands. It is located in the 'hood...feels sketchy just parking and walking in, even with the street lights on. Something about the trash blowing like tumbleweeds while police sirens blare in the background along with the quiet bump of hip hop just makes it feel so poetically grimy. Inside also feels grimy, which I guess is what some look for in a dive bar. (I personally differentiate "seedy and understated" from "grimy to the point of giving me the heebie jeebies".) There is dusty taxidermy all over the walls, some of which are wearing outfits- funny, I suppose, but just makes me feel uncomfortable to think of the globs of dust flying off into my drink or food. But before I ever noticed this, we had ordered a couple beers and a cheese plate. The beers came quickly, but the keg was definitely tapped- tasted flat. On other occasions we have had a decent mixed drink- the coca cola tastes normal and the ice to drink and liquor to mixer ratio is normal. The cheese plate- why they described this as a cheese plate is beyond me. It was one type of cheese- cheddar I think, with saltines still in the sleeve with a soup cup full of spicy Chinese mustard; some regular white onion slices were also piled sadly on the side. Pretty hilarious in all honesty! On another, busier night we were there and sat outside, which is pretty chill. Except that the staff rarely comes to clear old drinks so some tables are filled with empty glasses, making it so that no one can sit there. When you need a refill, you have to go back inside and shoulder your way through at the bar, which will have just 2 bartenders when they're slammed, one time (of the half dozen times we've been) I saw a bar back behind the bar helping. Needless to say, it takes about 10 to 15 minutes to get a drink at the bar on a busy night. The crowd is definitely mostly white (every time we have been, at least), which could be considered odd? The music is always either honky tonk, old people jazz, or folk music, and the musicians are always white. Overall, a fun place to hear live music (especially if you're white) and get a drink. Would not recommend for an extended stay or to get food.
