We had some errands in the area and were walking around downtown Worcester. There are many new/newer restaurant spots near City Hall. We were thirsty and looking for a quick bit, and happened upon the Worcester Beer Garden. It has very pleasant outside dining area, ideal for a drink and some interesting bar food. The menu options include dishes such as: Pierogis $11.00 Nachos $16.00 Quesadilla $14.00 Bavarian Pretzels $9.00 Pickle Chips $9.00 We opted to share a corned beef roll. I'd like to provide more detail, but their website menu page isn't working, and it's difficult to find a menu for them. Prices may not be up to date. We thought the roll was very tasty, albeit somewhat heavy. My beer was excellent, and the wine was cold and refreshing according to my co-diner. The waitress was excellent. It wasn't busy yet, but it was getting busier. They have games here (putting, corn hole, etc.) and on busy nights open up a pavilion area with a giant tv screen. We had a pleasant respite from the heat and look forward to returning to what they say is the largest patio area in Worcester. 3.5 stars rounded up to four for the venue and service on this visit. read more

Easily 5 stars! The service was great, super friendly staff! The bar is cute with lots of beer on tap. They have an amazing outside area with fires and casual tables. Everyone was just kind of hanging out separately but together, the only weird thing was the servers had trouble finding numbers of tables- but eventually they found us! It honestly was quicker service than expected. The food. THE FOOD. Amazing. I started with the soft pretzel and it was amazing. It was warm, soft, chewy and perfectly salty. It was a deep dark brown and very large. They served it hanging and with cheese and mustard sides. It was great. For an entree I ordered the chicken pesto quesadilla. Floored. It was crispy, and delicious. The pesto was really well balanced, and I love the sour cream and lettuce on the sides. This came with a side of queso too that was straight from heaven. We didn't get any napkins at the table so it was a little greasier than expected but overall great. What a beautiful location to grab some drinks! My husband had beers from their tap list of over 35 beers and I had a seltzer and a maitai (which was delicious!) It was kinda rainy/drizzly so we sat at the inside bar at the entrance (we didn't even know that there was another bar outside in the big tent). We had a nice server at the bar and we ordered the house pretzel. The house pretzel is really some pretzel bites, we definitely would have enjoyed a big pretzel instead, but it the bites were decent. After we paid and were ready to go we went outside to check on the beer garden. The outside was awesome! They have a big tent area with a bar and the most enormous TV screen I've ever seen in my life (great place to watch the games)!!! The term "Beer Garden" always reminds me of the Biergarten in Prague. It reminds me of a super busy outdoor space that offers a large variety of beers, while friends are having a great time bonding and sipping together! The Beer Garden in Worcester might be something like this, except it's a pretty cold time for any garden activity. So we enjoyed their indoor space. The space inside looks brand new, I'm not sure if actually new or recently remodeled, but it looks really nice and fresh. The young man who seated us was also really pleasant. I was seated next to their fireplace, which was really toasty. We got a variety of food to share. When I saw they had Hot Toddy in their menu, that's what I was getting! The Spice Up My Toddy was delicious! So perfect for a cold winter day. This has the honey whiskey base, with spiced pear and lemon! It was warm and so delightful! We got the hummus, it came with pita, peppers and carrots for dipping. It was pretty basic hummus. The Pulled Pork Mac and Cheese, was a very generous serving of Mac & Cheese, with pulled pork on top. This was way, way too salty for me. The Pull & Eat Shrimp, were Fresh and plentiful! I really enjoyed these! We also got two servings of their Pretzel Bites. These were warm and came with cheese and mustard for dipping. That was plenty of food to go around! Solidly impressed with this beer garden. They've got a huge variety of local beers to choose from. As a sour fan, I was pleased they had several options from multiple local breweries. Our waiter John was fantastic -- super attentive and friendly. The food was great, elevated beer garden fare. Highly recommend the fish tacos (which John recommended). They had live music this Friday and it was awesome!! The place was lively and full by 7 PM. The one drawback is parking can be tough. This place recently reopened under new management. The service was quick and friendly, but I do wonder why they didn't rename the place. It's not a beer garden anymore--very few beers on the menu. It's more of a cocktail bar now. The food menu is a little confusing as well, as it's unclear as to whether or not the items are meals or bar bites, since it's just broken down into "American," "Mexican," and "Brazilian" sections. Found out the food is just bar bites and shareables. Once they iron out some of these things that might be confusing to customers, I hope they will succeed, because their cocktails were excellent. I was there for lunch with the family and dog on 9/22. The staff could not have been more friendly and welcoming. The bartender lady made some amazing drinks (the brazilian mule is soo good). Love that there's a beer garden this big in Worcester! Some friends and I met up after work on a Friday and it was a perfect low key spot to kick off the weekend. Our friend's toddler was able to get in too. I know this may sound odd, but I'm used to this in NYC, so it does not bother me (as long as parents are keeping an eye on their kids so they don't eat rocks). There's indoor and outdoor seating, two bars, a walk up bar area that connects to the indoor bar, outdoor games to play, heated lamps, and big screens to watch games on. Service was not great, but I think we went when they recently opened and they were getting everything sorted out. It was definitely quicker to grab beers inside or through the walk up bar than from the waitress. We ordered a few dishes to try and they hit the spot - basically traditional beer garden food. So, I have been here 4, maybe 5 times in the past couple of years, with the last time being last month (June 2023) before a WooSox game. Maybe it's me, I love outdoorsy, spread-out places with laid-back type "comfortable" vibes; so in my opinion this place is absolutely cool for that--I wish Worcester had more places like this TBH. Sure, like everywhere else on Earth post-COVID the $ was a bit steep for pub food (hence the 4 vs 5 stars) but both were actually quite good. The pretzel was huge and hot and came hanging on some steel torture device-looking rack thing (how can you not like that?). The hummus seemed homemade, served with plenty of naan bread and vegetables. The service was fine--and again, for me, kicking back in the big outdoor patio always makes me feel good. Extremely inconsiderate if the community they function in. unlike the previous owners. The resident noise complaints are frequent with calls to the police department in a frequent basis and they refuse to abide by the restrictions of their operating hours. They host parties of 20 people and make the community suffer at the expense of their overbearing concerts. Food is okay. I honestly prefer the menu before it was reopened under new owners. It's now much more expensive even for just a quesadilla. However, I can't say some of it isn't outright delicious. I will warn, there is no parking. It's truly catering towards folks who can walk there (downtown residentes). Made the mistake of coming here after a nice dinner at a nearby restaurant. The bar staff were rude from the moment I walked in and then proceeded to belittle me because I'm a man and ordered a cider (dark haired man with beard and tats). Funny they're advertising a cider dinner - must only be expecting women to go. On a more serious note; every employee we encountered appeared miserable. Came here with a giant group after my friend's wedding and we had no problems finding a place to sit. They had a private party inside so you could only order from the bar in the back. They have tons of patio warmers and games, which is great! They had a hockey game on the big screen which was fun. They were definitely short staffed but the staff was friendly and doing their best. After a long afternoon of apartment hunting on four day notice of moving in we decided to cool off with some #summertime afternoon dranks. Quick yelp search brought my attention to a place next to this place. We were dropped off but en route we passed THIS place. Obviously anything that involves drinking and eating outside during the summer on a mild day has the upper hand. We were seated outside, next to the corn hole section which was one of the only tables available. We endured our entire meal with bean bags (sometimes chucked by children with less than ideal aim) whizzing by our heads. Our server was great. She was actually one of the best servers I've ever had. She was friendly, laughed at my jokes, and was EXTREMELY attentive. Holy shit. I didn't have to wait more than two minutes if I wanted something else. I HATE the dreaded in-restaurant hostage situation. The beer menu is insane, as is expected for a beer garden. We started out with a cider. There were so many good options on the menu we wanted to switch it up and due to indecisiveness, ordered a flight. See my IGTV video on @bekkicrocker for more deets. Whether you're into IPAs, hefeweizens (hefeweizenen I imagine in native tongue), sours, ciders, or porters, you will be satisfied. The food menu is also impressive. Just the appetizer section alone (all we really entertained) has MULTIPLE enticing selections including MAC AND CHEESE BALLS (regular and buffalo variety), chili cheese fries, truffle fries, at the time of our patronization also brussels sprouts but this is not on the menu currently, which is probably for the best. We ordered brussels sprouts and the HOUSE PRETZEL. Apparently the pretzel is usually a massive normal-shaped pretzel. They were allegedly out of the shape during our visit so instead we received pretzel STICKS. This was actually probably to our benefit because the sticks were massive and we definitely got more pretzel-age for our buck. The pretzel is accompanied by two dipping sauces. You have the choice of sweet (why???) or savory. We obviously went with savory. The savory sauces are grained mustard and this absolutely mind-blowingly spectacular cheese sauce. Holy fucking shit. I NEED to figure out the recipe for that sauce. They need to SELL that sauce. I want to PUT MY FACE in that sauce. I want to go back FOR THAT SAUCE. Delicious. The pretzel itself, sorry I digress, was soft and perfect. The brussels sprouts were good but overly oiled. They have a strong flavor and reminiscing about the flavor made me feel sick later on. I wouldn't order these again but WBG made that decision for me it seems. Anyways, this was a great experience with a great outdoor atmosphere. There's a bunch of couches and wide variety of seating options. There was live music at the time which was loud and not my music style preference but I speculate this is something most people would enjoy. This is a great place! I do like that beer garden offers a bounty of local beers throughout the New England area, although personally some are a little over priced. If you like trying multiple beers, the 5 flight deal maybe the best option, as buying two regular pints of any of their beers will essentially cost you the same as 5 flight flavors. If you're a beer snob and like to have options, the flight is the way to go! Their food on the other hand is by far lacking, mainly bar food to accompany the beers which make sense but not the best by any means. Personally when I'm drinking and feeling the buzz, most foods will unfortunately satisfy me but honestly beer gardens was not one of them. I made reservations for a party of 12 a few weeks ago so that my family and I could celebrate my graduation. Yesterday I decided to pull up the menu since I'm the type of person who knows what they want to order when they walk in. It's a good thing I did that, because I was shocked to see that they had changed their hours and the restaurant would not be open during the time of my reservation. I logged in to Open Table and saw that my reservation was still there. I called the number listed on Google and the phone rang until an automated message played saying they were on "winter break". I then realized they are closed Tuesdays, so I had to wait until Wednesday at 4pm to call back and get an answer. I tried to message them on Open Table as you can see in the second photo, and got no response I just called a little after 4pm now that it is Wednesday, and the woman who answered the phone confirmed that they will be closed. I just feel like it's wildly unprofessional to not personally call or email me letting me know that my reservation had been cancelled. Could you imagine my whole family (some coming from over 2 hours away just for a celebratory lunch) and I showing up to a closed restaurant after my graduation? Go somewhere with better management! 5 of us Worcester college kids decided a Friday afternoon would be the perfect time to visit the beer garden. We arrived at 3 pm because their website said (and still says!) they open at 12 on Fridays, yet the door was locked. We saw people inside, but they ignored us. After looking them up on Facebook, only there did we see they actually open at 4 pm. That already made me frustrated because how hard is it to have accurate hours on your website? So we strolled around the public area until 4. We were starving at this point so I was excited to get in and get some food. We sat in the back with the big screens. A women came up to us and then said she'd be right back, but then we never saw anyone for 15 minutes. Finally, a man with a stick in his mouth came over and took our drink orders. We got 3 beers and 5 waters, which took 20 minutes again. Also, I specifically wanted to go to this place because they had a good cocktail on their website menu, but the menu at the place did not match at all! So beware of that. Clearly no one is keeping track of their website. It took awhile to order food. We ordered an appetizer of onion rings and emphasized we wanted them first (even though that's what an appetizer means anyways), but they came out instead with our food. Very disappointed. Our food took 55 minutes to arrive since we ordered it. Keep in mind, we were one of two tables there. And yes, we timed it because we were starving. The waiter with the stick in his mouth was horrible. I don't remember his name so I have to describe him that way. We didn't bother leaving a good tip because he was very inattentive and I think he forgot about us. We didn't even cash out with him and had to do it with a bartender instead. The beer was fine. The blueberry beer smells better than it tastes. I couldn't stomach it without food and by the time that came my beer was warm. But I couldn't ask for ice, because said waiter was nowhere to be found. My friend and I both ordered pulled pork Mac n cheese which arrived cold. Anyways, please don't go here if you want good service. Probably a good place to sit at the bar but the food prices ($17 for cold mac n cheese!!) is just not worth it. You lost support from some holy cross students and I will be spreading the word! read more
